Al ser un gran fan de Pixar, lamento no haber podido ver Luca todavía, pero ya pude ver su última película. Fue estrenada hace poco, en marzo. Su directora es Domee Shi.
Being a big Pixar fan, I'm sorry I haven't been able to see Luca yet, but I did get to see their latest film. It was released just recently, in March. Its director is Domee Shi.
Sinopsis: Meilin Lee es una niña canadiese con ancestros de origen chino, de 13 años. Ella es una niña aplicada a los estudios, ordenada y que sigue totalmente las directrices de su madre, dejándole poco espacio al ocio con sus amigas. Un día sin esperarlo, se despierta convertida en un gran panda rojo. Este acontecimiento no solo le hará sentir un cúmulo de emociones como tristeza e ira; sino, comenzará a abrirle paso a conocerse a sí misma.
Synopsis: Meilin Lee is a 13-year-old Canadian girl of Chinese ancestry. She is a girl who is dedicated to her studies, tidy and totally follows her mother's directives, leaving her little room for leisure with her friends. One day, without expecting it, she wakes up transformed into a big red panda. This event will not only make her feel an accumulation of emotions such as sadness and anger, but will begin to open the way to know herself.
Es obvio deducir que el panda rojo es un símil al momento donde a una niña le comienza a surgir la menstruación, como el cambio general que se atraviesa en la pubertad y adolescencia. La película trata este tema, y como esta etapa les hace conocer más de sí mismos, así como hay fricciones con los familiares debido a esos cambios. Me parece bueno como lo aborda.
It is obvious to deduce that the red panda is a simile to the moment when a girl begins to get her menstruation, as the general change she goes through in puberty and adolescence. The film deals with this issue, and how this stage makes them know more about themselves, as well as how there is friction with family members due to these changes. I think it is a good approach.
Por otro lado, tenemos un contexto de los inicios de los 2000 con sus modas y tecnologías del momento, como los tamagotchis o las boy bands, es divertido recordar esa década. La animación me pareció un excelente trabajo, especialmente en esa pelea de Kaijus. También hay cierto toque anime con los gestos y ciertas transformaciones.
On the other hand, we have a context of the early 2000's with its fashions and technologies of the moment, such as tamagotchis or boy bands, it is fun to remember that decade. The animation seemed to me an excellent job, especially in that Kaijus fight. There is also a certain anime touch with the gestures and certain transformations.
Entre los puntos malos, creo que está el agregar varios personajes al final de la misma con poco o nulo desarrollo y un apartado musical discreto.
Among the bad points, I think is the addition of several characters at the end of the movie with little or no development and a discreet musical section.
Me entretuvo esta película, cómica y divertida. La recomiendo a todos.
