Antes de ver esta película, yo si bien había escuchado un poco de la música de Elton Jhon, este título me ha hecho ver y escuchar con otra perspectiva la música de este gran artista. El film fue estrenado en el 2019. Siendo su director Dexter Fletcher.

Sinopsis: Reginal Dwight es un niño con un don para el piano y la música, lamentablemente eso no está acompañado de buenas relaciones con sus padres. Ya crecido y luego de perfeccionar sus habilidades, comienza a componer canciones apoyado por el letrista Bernie Taupin; con él, comienza su carrera musical, con su nuevo nombre artístico Elton John. A su vez, le veremos enfrentar diversos problemas debido al trauma que arrastra de sus padres como su homosexualidad, que no puede revelar a la sociedad.

Para los 120 y algo minutos que dura la película la considera muy completa, contando bastante del artista y de lo que fue su vida. Sus adicciones, los problemas con sus padres, su habilidad innata para la música, sus amoríos, etc. En lo que se va contando, hay varias partes que se vuelven un musical en donde suenan varios de los hits de Elton John con diversas coreografías. Unos mejores que otros. Por mi parte, me parece excelente tanto la parte de Rocketman como la de Cocodrile Rock, impresionantes.
