Welcome to my blog!
Today I'm really looking forward to this contest because I think it's great. It reminds us of our childhood, when we were innocent and pure soul. Besides, in my case, social networks did not exist, much less on the Internet. So our distractions were very healthy. Playing hide and seek with our friends on the block, playing dolls, riding bikes and watching our favorite cartoons. Those that made us sigh (in my case) and that we waited anxiously for the time of their transmission.

Hoy vengo con muchas ganas porque este concurso me parece genial. Nos hace recordar nuestra infancia, cuando éramos inocentes y de alma pura. Además que, en mi caso, las redes sociales no existían, mucho menos en Internet. Así que nuestras distracciones eran muy sanas. Jugar a los escondidos con nuestros amiguitos de la cuadra, jugar muñecas, montar bicicleta y ver nuestras comiquitas predilectas. Esas que nos hacían suspirar (en mi caso) y que esperaba con ansias la hora de su transmisión.
First of all and before getting into the topic, I want to thank the community The Anime Realm and @ocd for creating this kind of contests that keep us encouraged, happy and looking forward to the next challenge. There's nothing like writing about what we like and if it's about going back to our happy childhood, what more can you ask from life?
As the Peter Pan song says, You'll fly:
"Think of a wonderful thought Any merry little thought Think of Christmas, think of snow Think of sleigh bells - off you go! Like reindeer in the sky..."
En primer lugar y antes de entrar en el tema, quiero agradecer a la comunidad The Anime Realm and @ocd por crear este tipo de concursos que nos mantiene animados, contentos y esperando el próximo reto. No hay nada como escribir sobre lo que nos gusta y si se trata de remontarnos a nuestra infancia feliz, ¿Qué mas se puede pedir a la vida?
Como dice la canción de Peter Pan, Volarás:

Well, my favorite anime (and I know for many contemporary women with me, too) was Candy Candy Candy.
Let's talk about what this cute story is about.
Candy is a Japanese manga or anime illustrated and written, created by Keiko Nagita, better known as Kyōko Mizuki (her pseudonym), transmitted from April 1975 to March 1981.
By 1976, it was adapted to be broadcast on television, which was a resounding success both nationally and internationally.
The series tells the story of a girl named Candy, who is abandoned as a baby in the snow, hence her name Candice White, for having been found at the gates of an orphanage, one cold snowy night. That same night, they find another baby, named Annie. Both grow up in the home of Miss Pony and Sister Mary.
Bueno, mi anime favorito (y sé que para muchas mujeres contemporáneas) era Candy Candy.
Hablemos de qué se trata esta linda historia.
Candy es un manga o anime japonés ilustrado y escrito, creado por Keiko Nagita, mejor conocida como Kyōko Mizuki (su seudónimo), transmitido desde abril de 1975, hasta marzo de 1981.
En el año 1976, se hicieron las adaptaciones adecuadas para ser transmitida en TV, teniendo éxito a nivel nacional e internacional.
La serie cuenta la historia de una niña de nombre Candy, quien es abandonada siendo bebé, en la nieve; de ahí su nombre Candy Blanca, por haber sido encontrada, una noche de fría nieve, a las puertas de un orfanato. Esa misma noche, encuentran abandonada a otra bebé, llamada Annie. Ambas crecen en el hogar de la señorita Pony y la hermana María.
Annie and Candy become best friends during those years at the orphanage and make a promise to never leave Miss Pony's Home or be separated from each other. By Candy's tenth birthday, the Bitter family, a family with a lot of money, wants to adopt Candy, but she refuses because she always keeps in mind the promise that both girls made to each other, even though they want to have a family.
The Bitter family, seeing that Candy does not want to be adopted, offers the same to Annie, who accepts without hesitation, which breaks Candy's heart and for the first time in her life, she experiences disappointment.
Annie y Candy se hacen mejores amigas durante esos años en el orfanato y se hacen la promesa de no abandonar jamás el Hogar de la señorita Pony o separarse la una de la otra. Ya para el décimo cumpleaños de Candy, los Bitter, una familia con mucho dinero, quiere adoptar a Candy, pero ella se niega por tener siempre presente la promesa que se hicieron ambas niñas, a pesar de querer tener una familia.
Los Bitter al ver que Candy no desea ser adoptada, le ofrecen lo mismo a Annie, quien acepta sin dudarlo, lo que rompe el corazón de Candy y por primera vez en su vida, experimenta lo que es la decepción.

Even though Annie promised Candy to write to her every day, that doesn't happen and one day, she finally receives a letter telling her that she won't be able to write to her because her adoptive parents don't want anyone to know that she is an adopted child.
That day Candy runs to Pony Hill to cry and that's when she meets "The Prince of the Hill". This is where one of the most iconic lines of this story comes from:
"Why are you crying?" "You're so much prettier when you laugh, than when you cry.
A pesar de que Annie le prometió a Candy escribirle todos los días, eso no sucede y un día, finalmente recibe una carta donde le dice que no podrá escribirle porque sus padres adoptivos no quieren que nadie se entere que ella es una niña adoptada.
Ese día Candy corre a la Colina de Pony a llorar y es cuando conoce a "El Príncipe de la Colina". De aquí viene una de las más icónicas frases de esta historia:
"¿Por qué lloras? "Eres mucho más linda cuando ríes, que cuando lloras".
Suddenly, the prince leaves without telling her his name. But before leaving, he drops a brooch with a family insignia and Candy decides to keep it.
Some time later, the Leagan family decides to keep Candy to make her the lady-in-waiting of Elisa, the spoiled daughter of the family. Candy accepts it because when she notices that the family insignia is very similar to the prince's, she thinks that maybe she can find him, so she goes with them willingly.
But when she arrives at the Leagan's house, she realizes that both Elisa and her brother Neil are two people, envious and evil, who welcome her with a bucket of cold water from the balcony.
Candy tries to ignore them, while they do everything possible to denigrate her. They get to the point that Candy is demoted from maid to servant and is sent to sleep in the stables. Because if there's one thing Candy doesn't have, it's submission. This little girl knows how to defend herself against anyone and anywhere.
Repentinamente, el príncipe se marcha sin decirle su nombre. Pero antes de partir, se le cae un broche con una insignia familiar y Candy decide conservarlo.
Tiempo más tarde, la familia Leagan, decide tener a Candy para convertirla en dama de compañía de Elisa, la hija mimada de la familia. Candy lo acepta porque cuando nota que la insignia de esa familia, es muy parecida a la del príncipe, piensa que quizás lo pueda encontrar, así que se va con ellos gustosa.
Pero al llegar a la casa de los Leagan, se da cuenta que tanto Elisa como su hermano Neil, son dos personas, envidiosas y malvadas, que la reciben con un balde de agua fría desde el balcón.
Candy trata de no hacerles caso, mientras ellos hacen todo lo posible por denigrarla. Llegan al punto de que a Candy la bajan de Dama de Compañía, a sirvienta y es enviada a dormir en los establos. Porque si algo no tiene Candy, es sumisión. Esta chiquita sabe defenderse de quien sea y donde sea.
One day, poor Candy has had enough of Elisa and Neil's mistreatment and runs away crying from the house. Without realizing where she is going, she arrives at a rose garden. Here she is very surprised to see that the boy who was there, looks exactly like the prince of the hill. The boy doesn't seem to recognize her, but Candy realizes that the badge she has, is the same as the one at the entrance of that house.
At this point, an endless chain of events begins for Candy, where she will experience a new pain when she learns that her friend Annie pretends not to recognize her when she sees her at a party at the Leagans' house.
On the other hand, she meets Stear, Archie and the boy with the rose portal, whose name, she discovers, is Anthony.
The three boys go out of their way to shower her with attention and Candy enjoys her first dance.
They don't like Elisa and Neil either, and their attentions to Candy unleash even more envy and rage from the brothers.
Un, día la pobre Candy está harta de los maltratos de Elisa y Neil, que huye corriendo y llorando de la casa. Sin darse cuenta de adónde se dirige, llega hasta un portal de rosas. Aquí se sorprende mucho al ver que el chico que estaba ahí, es exactamente igual al príncipe de la colina. El chico parece no reconocerla, pero Candy se da cuenta que la insignia que ella tiene, es igual a la que está en la entrada de esa casa.
En este punto, se desata una interminable cadena de sucesos para Candy, en donde le tocará experimentar un nuevo dolor al saber que su amiga Annie finge no reconocerla, cuando la ve en una fiesta en casa de los Leagan.
Por otro lado, conoce a Stear, Archie y al chico del portal de las rosas, cuyo nombre, descubrió ella, es Anthony.
Los tres chicos se desviven por llenarla de atenciones y Candy disfruta su primer baile.
Ellos tampoco simpatizan con Elisa y Neil y las atenciones de ellos para con Candy, desatan aún más la envidia y rabia de los hermanos.

After this party, Elisa's hatred intensifies, when she realizes that Anthony is in love with Candy and not with her, as she most wanted in life.
On the other hand, the boys maintain a good friendship with Candy, much against the opinion of their relatives, because they felt ashamed that they maintained a friendship with a maid.
Fate leads her to meet Albert, a lonely boy with long blond hair and a thick beard, who always wore dark glasses. This enigmatic young man lives without permission in the forest that belongs to the Ardley family, becoming, without knowing it, their protector and great friend.
Después de esta fiesta, el odio de Elisa se intensifica, cuando se da cuenta que Anthony está enamorado de Candy y no de ella, como era lo que ella más deseaba en la vida.
Por otra parte, los chicos mantienen una buena amistad con Candy, muy en contra de la opinión de sus familiares, porque se sentían avergonzados de que ellos mantuviesen una amistad con una empleada de servicio.
El destino la lleva a conocer a Albert, un chico solitario de cabellos rubios largos y espesa barba, que siempre llevaba gafas oscuras. Este enigmático joven, vive sin permiso en el bosque que pertenece a la familia Ardley, convirtiéndose sin saberlo, en su protector y gran amigo.
At the age of 12, Candy is adopted by Great-Uncle William and becomes part of the Ardley family. Life changes for this orphan girl, who from being an abused servant, by a capricious child, is now the adopted daughter of the Ardley's, people with much more money than Elisa and Neil.
Now Candy moves to Lakewood Manor with her friends Archie, Stear and Anthony.
Candy's life takes a radical turn when she moves into the mansion. The friendship between her, Stear and Archie grows stronger, but she is secretly in love with Anthony and he with her. One fine day, he declares his love for her and for a year, they have a happy courtship.
Once again, fate plays a dirty trick on her, when a year later, Anthony falls off a horse and dies, leaving the girl devastated.
A los 12 años, Candy es adoptada por el Tío Abuelo William y pasa a formar parte de la familia Ardley. La vida le cambia a esta chica huérfana, que de ser una sirvienta maltratada, por una niña caprichosa, ahora es hija adoptiva de los Ardley, personas con mucho más dinero que Elisa y Neil.
Ahora Candy se muda a la Mansión de Lakewood con sus amigos Archie, Stear y Anthony.
La vida de Candy da un giro radical al mudarse a la mansión. La amistad entre ella, Stear y Archie se fortalece, pero ella está enamorada en secreto de Anthony y él, de ella. Un buen día, él le declara su amor y durante un año, tuvieron un noviazgo feliz.
De nuevo el destino le hace una mala jugada, cuando al pasar un año, Anthony cae de un caballo y muere, dejando a la chica desolada.

Candy feels so sad that she decides to return to the Pony's Home, to find the peace and comfort she needs so much.
So she did and during the time she was there, she received a visit from Albert. Another day Stear and Archie visited her, to try to convince her to return to London, to which she refuses.
But months later, the trusted employee of her protector (who adopted her) arrives at Pony's Home and tells her that he has come to take her to London to study at the Royal College of St. Paul to become a lady.
On the ship she meets Terry Grandchester, a difficult young man with a bad temper and a troubled past. The girl immediately found him very unpleasant, when he begins to make fun of her freckles.
Candy se siente tan triste que decide regresar al Hogar de Pony, para encontrar esa paz y ese consuelo que tanto necesita.
Así fue y durante el tiempo que estuvo allí, recibió la visita de Albert. Otro día la visitaron Stear y Archie, para tratar de convencerla de regresar a Londres, a lo que ella se niega.
Pero meses después, llega al Hogar de Pony, el empleado de confianza de su protector (quien la adoptó) y le dice que ha venido para llevarla a Londres a estudiar en el Real Colegio de San Pablo, para hacerse una dama.
En el barco conoce a Terry Grandchester, un joven difícil, de mal carácter y con un pasado turbulento. A la chica de inmediato le pareció muy desagradable, cuando él comienza a burlarse de sus pecas.
At school, she meets Stear and Archie, as well as Elisa and Neil, who soon make Candy's life difficult again. To Candy's surprise, she realizes that Terry is also studying at the same school.
Terry has frequent fights, smokes, gets drunk and is irreverent, breaking all the rules. But he is not expelled because his father contributes a lot of money to the school.
One day, Neil and several of his friends were mistreating Candy, when Terry arrives and defends her, hitting Neil, which makes Candy change a little the opinion he has formed of him.
En el colegio, se encuentra con Stear y Archie, así como con Elisa y Neil, quienes no tardan en hacerle la vida de nuevo difícil a Candy. Para sorpresa de la chica, se da cuenta que Terry también está estudiando en el mismo colegio.
Terry tiene peleas con frecuencia, fuma, se emborracha y es irreverente, rompiendo todas las reglas. Pero no lo expulsan porque su padre aporta mucho dinero al colegio.
Un día, Neil y varios amigos suyos estaban maltratando a Candy, cuando llega Terry y la defiende, golpeando a Neil, lo que hace que Candy cambie un poco la opinión que se ha formado de él.
Everything unfolds amidst Elisa and Neil's web of evil, Annie's complex, (who is also in school), to say that she was also in the Pony Home, Candy's new friendship, a girl with glasses, named Patty and the friendship that between her and Terry unfolds and Elisa's crush on Terry, which causes more anger for her, because Terry is not in love with her.
Todo se va desenvolviendo en medio de la telaraña de maldad de Elisa y Neil, el complejo de Annie, (quien también está en el colegio), de decir que también estuvo en el Hogar de Pony, la nueva amistad de Candy, una niña de lentes, llamada Patty y la amistad que entre ella y Terry se va desenvolviendo y el enamoramiento de Elisa hacia Terry, lo que ocasiona más rabia para ella, porque Terry no está enamorado de ella.
In the summer vacations, everyone goes to Scotland. Annie and Patty have also been invited to the Ardley mansion. Curiously, Terry is also nearby, in another house on the other side of the river.
One evening while dancing, Terry gives his first kiss of love to a surprised Candy, who, not knowing how to react, slaps him and he, even more surprised, slaps her back.
En las vacaciones de verano, todos se van a Escocia. Annie y Patty también han sido invitadas a la mansión de los Ardley. Curiosamente, Terry también está cerca, en otra casa al otro lado del río.

However, after this, they become sweethearts, but a jealous Elisa does the impossible to separate them, until Candy one day realizes that the rules of that school are not made for someone like her and that she will never be accepted for being an orphan, so she decides to leave the school in search of Terry who had also left before.
It is then when she decides to return to the Pony's Home and after getting a job as an assistant to the local doctor and it is here where she discovers her vocation as a nurse.
Sin embargo y después de esto, ellos se hacen novios, pero una Elisa celosa, hace lo imposible por separarlos, hasta que Candy un buen día comprende que las normas de ese colegio, no están hechas para alguien como ella y que jamás será aceptada por ser huérfana, así que decide irse del colegio en busca de Terry quien también se había marchado antes.
Es entonces cuando decide regresar al Hogar de Pony y tras conseguir un empleo como asistente del doctor de la localidad y es aquí donde descubre su vocación como enfermera.
Thus, at the age of 15, Candy applies to become a nursing student.
In May, Stear, Elisa, Archie and Neil return to the United States in the face of the impending war in Europe. Meanwhile, the nursing students are transferred to Chicago to learn surgical techniques.
After being in Chicago for a while, during the First World War, Candy learns that Terry is working as an actor in a play by Shakespeare, who, by the way, has not stopped thinking about Candy, but there is a young actress who is madly in love with him and he always rejects her with total abruptness. Nevertheless, she insists.
Es así como a los 15 años, Candy se postula como estudiante de enfermería.
En mayo Stear, Elisa, Archie y Neil, regresan a los Estados Unidos, ante la inminente guerra en Europa. Por su parte, las estudiantes de enfermería son trasladadas a Chicago, para aprender técnicas quirúrgicas.
Después de estar un tiempo en Chicago, durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, Candy se entera de que Terry está trabajando como actor en una obra de Shakespeare, quien por cierto, no ha dejado de pensar en Candy, pero hay una joven actriz que está locamente enamorada de él y él siempre la rechaza con total brusquedad. No obstante, ella insiste.

Once again, luck is not on the side of these young lovers, because they go through many adversities to be able to see each other, without succeeding.
Throughout this stage, things happen that cannot be reversed. The girl who is in love with Terry, suffers an accident in the theater to protect him and loses her leg, for which he is indebted to her and must give up Candy.
Albert has an accident at the front and loses his memory. Stear dies fighting Neil realizes that he is in love with Candy.
Tired of all this madness, some time later Candy returns to her beloved Pony House and there she learns that the Prince of the Hill is Albert himself. When she sees him, she runs to hug him and this is the end of the famous series, leaving the end to the imagination of its viewers.
De nuevo la suerte no está del lado de estos jóvenes enamorados, porque pasan por muchas adversidades para poder verse, sin conseguirlo.
A lo largo de esta etapa, suceden cosas que no tienen marcha atrás. La chica que está enamorada de Terry, sufre un accidente en el teatro para protegerlo a él y pierde la pierna, por lo cual el está en deuda con ella y debe renunciar a Candy.
Albert tiene un accidente en el frente y pierde la memoria. Stear muere combatiendo Neil se da cuenta de que está enamorado de Candy.
Cansada de toda esta locura, un tiempo después Candy regresa a su querido Hogar de Pony y allí se entera que el Príncipe de la Colina, es el mismo Albert. Al verlo, corre a abrazarlo y aquí queda la famosa serie, dejando el final a la imaginación de sus televidentes.
