Today Fox will release the fourth episode of the new mutants TV show “The Gifted”, called “Exit Strategy”. I always will thanks Fox and Brian Singer for “in a way” start the super heroes era back in 2000 with X-Men the movie. However I never felt pleased with the mutants at theaters, and I promised myself not to talk about Fantastic Four anymore.
So… after point set my thoughts, maybe, and just maybe, Fox will do something good using the small screen instead. Right now I’ve watch carefully the first three episodes, and they are pretty decent at least until now. They are building all character personality and story for the audience and giving a special attention for the racial and preconceptual aspect involving mutants and their civil rights against humanity.
The main characters are the brothers Lauren Strucker played by Natalie Alyn Lind and Andy Strucker played by Percy Hynes White. Those two became fugitives when the younger brother Andy snap and damage the school with his uncontrolled power after be bully and beat up by some teenagers. After that his father, using his influence as prosecutor, get in touch with a group of mutants called “The underground mutants” in order to escape with his family to another country.
The Underground Mutants main characters are Eclipse aka Marcos Diaz played by Sean Teale and together with Polaris aka Lorna Dane played by Emma Dumont, are the leaders of the group, as second in command we have Apache native American Thunderbird aka John Proudstar played by Blair Redford, and finally as new group member Blink played by Jaime Chung.
So far, as Dumbledore says… "in my not so humble opinion", the best performances go to Jaime Chung – Blink, Blair Redford – Thunderbird and Emma Dumont – Polaris, the rest of the crew is good, with the exception of Andy, the younger Strucker Brother, his mimic of rage looks like more with a constipated person.
