The Obi Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus is one of the projects related to Star Wars that has generated the most hype among its followers for a long time, not only because it is the return of Ewan McGregor (One of the most adored actors of the prequels) in the role of the Jedi master, but because apart from that he would be in charge of addressing one of the moments in the timeline of the saga that apart from Rogue One have been considerably ignored when it comes to movies and television series: The events between the episode III and to New Hope.

As a lover of Revenge of the Sith, it is as if this series was totally made for me, but at the same time I felt several quite rational concerns that with the passing of weeks and the release of several chapters could be brewing, although there is a lot of potential Narrative, after The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch, the passage of Star Wars on Disney Plus has been quite irregular, The Book of Boba Fett personally disappointed me and Obi-Wan Kenobi had all the necessary characteristics to extol his own flaws.

The temporary verdict? With two episodes recently released, Kenobi stands as an exciting project, which drinks from the nostalgia of both trilogies (The classic and the prequels) to form an entertaining series but with little desire to do something truly unique.

There are several issues here, despite the holes in the original timeline (which were probably already covered by way of comics and video games that are part of the extended canon) there wasn't much to tell in the time range presented here. , affecting the level of risk to which the characters are subjected and the predictability of the plot.

Although there are a couple of highlights early on (A beautifully choreographed and tragic extension to the execution of Order 66, as well as the presence of Inquisitors), Kenobi quickly becomes a series we only watch for its connections to the other works. of the Star Wars expanded universe and not necessarily because its isolated quality deserves it.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is worth watching but not for the reasons we'd expect, his plot must do flips to justify its very existence, the direction is boring, and the visual style fails to balance the neat futurism of the prequels with the special Western of the original trilogy, but hey, seeing old Ben's adventures in the desert is funny.

Dear @richardalexis, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago and only needs a few more HP to get funded again.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work this year?
You can do it on Peakd, ecency, Hive.blog or using HiveSigner.

The whole Star Wars saga has a huge legion of fans, but sometimes people, no matter how much they like a saga, have to ask themselves: is this series necessary? what do you think?
