Continua la Batalla de Cintra | The Battle of Cintra continues
Como bien lo habíamos mencionado en el post anterior hoy toca hablar del grueso de la batalla de Cintra, quería hacer este post en un solo escrito pero debido a que aún continuo mal de la vista no puedo estar demasiado tiempo en la computadora por lo que escribir se me dificulta un poco. Afortunadamente cada vez me encuentro mejor.
En esa parte hablaremos del inicio de la batalla completa, ya en el anterior escrito vimos cuales eran las composiciones de ambos bandos, sus formaciones y el contexto de la batalla, hoy repaceremos que ocurrió, los errores que se cometieron y proximamente te diré lo que yo hubiera hecho para impedir que la ciudad de Cintra fuera tomada.
Fuera de ello he de decir que la serie de The Witcher me ha gustado, la verdad ha estado genial no he podido ver demasiado porque como ya dije antes debo guardar reposo de la vista pero sin dudas la he disfrutado mucho.
Ya basta de tanta introducción vamos al lio que nos trae a este viaje; la discusión de la Batalla de Cintra, comenzamos.
As we had mentioned in the previous post, today it is time to talk about the main part of the Cintra battle, I wanted to do this post in a single writing but due to the fact that I still have bad eyesight I can not be too long at the computer so writing is a little difficult for me. Fortunately I am feeling better and better.
In this part we will talk about the beginning of the whole battle, already in the previous writing we saw what were the compositions of both sides, their formations and the context of the battle, today we will review what happened, the mistakes that were made and next I will tell you what I would have done to prevent the city of Cintra was taken.
Other than that I have to say that I liked the series of The Witcher, the truth is that it has been great I have not been able to see too much because as I said before I must keep my eyes rest but without a doubt I have enjoyed it a lot.
Enough of so much introduction, let's go to the matter that brings us to this trip; the discussion of the Battle of Cintra, let's start.
La Batalla esta en curso | The battle is underway
Comienza la batalla y el ejercito de Nilfgaard se lanza de frente a las tropas del ejercito de Cintra; en este punto hay otra cosa que no entiendo, el despliegue tantico de Cintra.
Los soldados de Cintra cuentan con caballería pesada, no sé si mucha o poca gente tiene conciencia de ello pero en las batallas antiguas los carruajes de guerra o la caballería pesada sería el equivalente de lo que hoy en día son los tanques de guerra, un ejercito con caballería de este tipo era de temer; ejemplos a los largo de la historia hay muchos.
Entre las virdutes y ventajas de este tipo de unidades estaba la carga ¿En que consiste la carga? En aprovechar la potencia y velocidad en carrera de los corceles para barrer a las unidades de infantería enemiga, los caballos atropellarían y pisoterían todo lo que tendrían delante.
Pues la llamada"carga" parece que es algo que Cintra no conoce pues esperan a tener al enemigo a unos dos o tres metros de distancia para iniciar el avance con la caballería, neutralizando por completo la ventaja de la carga.
No solo ellos, sino que debido a la formación cerrada contra un enemigo numericamente superior hace que rapidaente queden rodeados por los soldados de Nilfgaard.
The battle begins and Nilfgaard's army rushes head-on into the troops of Cintra's army; at this point there is another thing I don't understand, Cintra's tantric deployment.
The Cintra soldiers have heavy cavalry, I do not know if many or few people are aware of it but in ancient battles the war chariots or heavy cavalry would be the equivalent of what today are the tanks of war, an army with cavalry of this type was to be feared; examples throughout history there are many.
Among the virdutes and advantages of this type of units was the load. What does the load consist of? In taking advantage of the power and speed of the steeds to sweep the enemy infantry units, the horses would run over and trample everything in front of them.
The so-called "charge" seems to be something that Cintra does not know because they wait to have the enemy two or three meters away to start the advance with the cavalry, completely neutralizing the advantage of the charge.
Not only them, but due to the close formation against a numerically superior enemy they are quickly surrounded by Nilfgaard's soldiers.

El ejercito de Cintra a nivel de despliegue es un chiste y un desastre, no quisiera ser yo parte de esta fuerza militar porque estaría condenado.
No sé como un reino tan militarmente incompetente puede ser tan prospero en un universo tan belicoso. No hay un solo arquero en las filas del ejercito de Cintra, ni una sola flecha zurco el cielo por parte de Cintra en este combate cosa curiosa porque los arqueros son de las unidades mas importantes sobre todo en un enfrentamiento directo de este tipo.
Los arqueros sirven para frenar la avanzada enemiga y ostigar a las lineas que se van incorporando en el frente de combate, parece que en Cintra los arqueros no existen.
Todo lo contrario al ejercito de Nilfgaard que cuenta con un considerable batallon de arqueros; auqnue parece que durante la carga directa olvidaron que dichos arqueros existían.
Con una cantidad de arqueros tan elevada, no había necedidad de mandar tantos soldados a una carga directa contra todo el ejercito de Cintra, eso es un desperidico de hombres si tienes arqueros para despachar la mayor cantidad de tropas posibles, recordemos que hay que conservar la mayor cantidad de efectivos pues no solo hay que terminar con el ejercito contrario si no que deben tomar la ciudad. Esto es mal uso de las unidades.
Cintra's army at the deployment level is a joke and a disaster, I would not want to be part of this military force because I would be doomed.
I don't know how such a militarily incompetent kingdom can be so prosperous in such a warlike universe. There is not a single archer in the ranks of the Cintra army, not a single arrow shot into the sky by Cintra in this combat, which is curious because archers are one of the most important units, especially in a direct confrontation of this type.
The archers are used to slow down the enemy advance and to hit the lines that are being incorporated in the combat front, it seems that in Cintra the archers do not exist.
All the contrary to the army of Nilfgaard that counts on a considerable archer battle; although it seems that during the direct charge they forgot that these archers existed.
With such a high number of archers, there was no need to send so many soldiers to a direct charge against the entire army of Cintra, that is a waste of men if you have archers to dispatch as many troops as possible, remember that you have to keep as many troops as possible because you not only have to finish with the opposing army but must take the city. This is a bad use of the units.
Llovió y ya no vendrán | It rained and they will no longer come
Una de las cosas que definitivamente me pareció el colmo de la historia de este capítulo y esto no solo me parece un error a la hora de planificar el combate y defensa de la ciudad, sino que también me parece un error de la historia es el tema de los refuerzos de Cintra.
Supuestamente la reina Calanthe cuenta con na flota de barcos que vendrán en su ayuda para luchar contra Niflgaard, está según algunos es la razón por la cual ella decidió luchar en campo abierto, porque con los refuerzos superaría en número a Nilfgaard. Cabe hacer un pequeño spoiler si no viste este capítulo; los refuerzos no llegan nunca.
El problema principal no es que los refuerzos no acuden al campo de batalla, es la forma. La reina Calanthe y su marido el rey se enteran en pleno campo de batalla durante la contienda POR UN SOLDADO que los refuerzos no vendrán porque cayó una tormenta… ¿ENSERIO? ¿ENSERIO?
Ahora yo me pregunto cómo se enteró ese soldado en ese preciso momento ¿No debieron decirle esto a la reina Calanthe? Parece que ella misma lo sabía y si ella sabía que necesitaba de los refuerzos para ser mayor en número que su enemigo entonces ¿Por qué salió a combatir fuera de los muros de la ciudad? ¿Somos estúpidos todos o qué?
En fin, no hay manera de que ella no tuviera a la mano esta información, es imposible que se haya enterado de esta noticia en pleno combate porque no había manera de que ninguno de los soldados o generales en el campo se enterasen en el momento, esta información ella tuvo que saberla con antelación y aun así decidió salir a luchar a campo abierto… No me explico esta decisión, no sé si es un fallo del guion, o solo se les pasó por alto o si de verdad ocurre así en los libros (cosa que dudo muchísimo).

The main problem isn't that the reinforcements don't come to the battlefield, it's the form. Queen Calanthe and her husband the king find out in the middle of the battlefield during the battle FROM A SOLDIER that the reinforcements will not come because a storm fell....SENSERIOUS? SENSERIOUS?
Now I wonder how that soldier found out at that precise moment. Shouldn't they have told this to Queen Calanthe? It seems she knew it herself and if she knew she needed the reinforcements to outnumber her enemy then why did she go out to fight outside the city walls? Are we all stupid or what?
Anyway, there is no way she didn't have this information at hand, it is impossible that she found out this news in the middle of combat because there was no way any of the soldiers or generals in the field would have found out at the moment, this information she had to know in advance and still she decided to go out to fight in the open field... I don't explain this decision, I don't know if it is a failure of the script, or they just missed it or if it really happens like that in the books (which I doubt very much).
Un descanso para continuar | A break to continue
Necesito darle un respiro a mi mente y un descanso a mi vista después de repasar muchos puntos, la verdad es que la recreación de este combate me dejó bastante decepcionado, no esperaba que The Witcher comenzara con una escena de batalla y la verdad estaba muy emocionado, pero creo que me precipité y tuve expectativas muy altas.
A pesar de estos detalles la serie sigue conservando un muy buen nivel de calidad y creo que si eres fan de este tipo de programación te la recomendaría sin dudarlo, hasta ahora a mí me ha gustado mucho.
Ya hemos analizado casi la totalidad de la Batalla de Cintra, nos acercamos a la recta final, en el siguiente escrito te contaré un poco sobre la breve defensa de la ciudad y lo que yo hubiera hecho para salir airoso de este combate. I need to give my mind a break and my eyes a rest after reviewing many points, the truth is that the recreation of this combat left me quite disappointed, I did not expect The Witcher to start with a battle scene and the truth was very excited, but I think I rushed and I had very high expectations.
Despite these details the series still retains a very good level of quality and I think if you are a fan of this type of programming I would recommend it without hesitation, so far I have liked it a lot.
We have already analyzed almost the entirety of the Battle of Cintra, we are approaching the final stretch, in the following writing I will tell you a little about the brief defense of the city and what I would have done to come out of this combat successful.
