Guardians of the Galaxy is a Marvel Studios American superhero movie marketed and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures; it is the 10th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which was filmed and released in 2014. The movie was directed by James Gunn, who was also a co-writer alongside Nicole Perlman.
It has a list of stars which includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio del Toro.
Chris Pratt, who played Peter Quill, was a kid who, after losing his mother to death, got abducted by a gang of aliens headed by Yondu Udonta, played by Michael Rooker, the leader of the group, the Ravagers. He was raised amongst them, and as such, he also became a thief like them, and would lead a group of criminals against a villain who wanted to destroy an entire population.
Peter, a thief who had stolen a very prized possession, was unable to trade the item to his first buyer because the buyer did not want to deal with a name he had mentioned.
He was forced to team up with Zoe Saldana (Gamora), whose sole purpose was to retrieve the item from him and sell it to her own contact, not knowing exactly what the item was.
In discovering that the item was a power stone (Infinity Stone) that possessed so great a power, they planned to return it to the Nova Corps for safekeeping, but were intercepted by Ronan and his crew, which led them to lose the Infinity Stone.
The decision to retrieve the stone from Ronan was Gamora's idea because she knew it was not a good idea to have such a powerful item in the hands of Ronan or Thanos himself.
The most fascinating character for me is Rocket, who was a genetically modified raccoon; he possessed super intelligence, and the whole success of their plans and their execution was all centred on him.
Aside from his intelligence, he was also a funny and very serious individual; though selfish to some extent, he had a heart for his one and only companion, Groot, before meeting the team. Meeting the group had made him realise that together he could do even more.
All the actors did very well in their performance of the role, bringing humour and heart to the character, which was brilliantly executed.
