The Last House is a sci-fi survival thriller starring Wagner Moura as Jason and Greta Lee as Ann, directed by Louis Leterrier.
It follows the story of a family of four who were suddenly trapped inside their house and were unable to go outside, forced to stay indoors and manage the limited resources they already had before they became trapped.

The movie idea made me wonder. what you will do if you find yourself locked in for days, without being able to go outside of your house, just you and your family, what it will be like, will there be chaos amongst you guys or will it make you guys even closer and have stronger bonds, will you be able to survive for long indoors without being able to go out, how long will the supply in your house last you and your family for the whole period. What creativity do you have that will help you survive the period?
The movie was very intriguing from the start; it kept me glued to my screen for some time, in suspense. The feeling of being locked in day after day with no way out is something we all can all imagine, especially after the pandemic of late 2019 and the year 2020.
The movie shows how the family tried to manage their limited food and water and, at the same time, dealt with the emotional stress of staying indoors without being able to go outside.
Jason who was the man of the house did all he could to protect his family and also to provide for them through creative ways, this is where it shows the importance of marrying the right partner who will do anything necessary to protect and provide for his family, not leaving Ann who did her very best to help him stay sane as well as bringing her own creativity to keep them alive. Both the parent and the kids played their roles very well, making the movie entertaining as well as educational.
But while the story kept me glued to my screen, I also felt like the story was dragged out longer than it should be, selling us the same idea that has already been understood over and over and in the end, the story was rushed, leaving us to wonder so many things that might have happened.

The performance was very strong, but the ending of the movie felt rushed and summarised after the threat was revealed. I felt like there could be more to the end of the movie. I wanted to see more to understand what the invaders were in search of.
The movie makes you think about survival and what action people take when they are pushed to the limit; it shows us what people do if the only option they have is to survive.
For me, the movie delivered well; the suspense, the intriguing scenes and the strong performance of the actors were phenomenal, but it left me wishing for more at the end.
