Hello hive friends, a pleasure to share with you once again. It's been a while since I last passed through here. A month is a long time!
However, in all the time I've been away I've seen a ton of movies, so I have plenty of reviews to share with you. I'm happy.
Starting off on the right foot, I saw the "Encanto" movie taking advantage of the fact that they lent me a Disney + account (my friend is a gift from heaven) and the first impressions were good.
Summary: Mirabel is part of the Madrigal family. A family with unique gifts, being the only one without a gift, may be the one that can save the magic that surrounds "Encanto" from a terrible destiny.
Review: The film talks about forgiveness and reconciliation but also touches on issues of dysfunction that many families experience and defects as well as concerns to which family members are subjected.
First we have the protagonist Mirabel, who, having no gift, is somehow belittled despite her attempts to please the family.
Second is Luisa who, having the gift of strength, is used as a pillar for the family. She just can't afford any moments of weakness as she carries so much load.
Third, is Isabela. Although she is my least favorite character since her attitude does not finish convincing me. She doesn't take away from the fact that she is pressured by Grandma to be perfection, she has to be perfect and no flaws are allowed. Even arranging a marriage with a man she's not in love with.
Fourth and for me the most important, Bruno. Bruno's case is quite unique, people blaming him for the visions of him as if he is the one who will control the future. There is literally a song that tells all the things he has seen (very catchy song by the way) does not take away from the fact that he is the most attacked of the family. Still, he is unable to leave, for love of family.
As far as my conscience is concerned, it's all Grandma's fault. She herself is the cause of all these problems and as is typical in these families, no one contradicts her. Neither Mirabel's parents protecting her children, nor the uncles facing the problems of her nephews. Grandma does all this in order to preserve "Encanto" without knowing that those problems are what are harming Enchantment and her own family.
In the end it all ended well of course, although she would have wanted more than an apology. But hey, who am I to fight against the magic of Disney?
Soundtrack: Disney takes the lead when it comes to soundtrack. In addition to making specific songs and music for his films, the effort in his work is noticeable. Each song is wonderful in its own way and over the years it hasn't lost its touch.
Conclusion: Was the movie good? Yes The fact that it somehow brings out these aspects makes it unique. Of the best? probably not
Also I have questions. Luisa and Camilo's room? It would be nice if they show it. Will Mirabel have a special room now? I hope so, it seems to me that she more than deserved it after so much.
