Kurt Russell is Jack Burton in John Carpenter's awesome B-movie, Big Trouble in Little China, from 1986. Jack takes his friend Wang to pick up his fiancée from the airport and ends up fighting the forces of evil as said fiancée is kidnapped by the supernatural, immortal Lo Pan, played by James Hong. Victor Wong is bus driver/ sorcerer Egg Shen and Kim Cattrall is Gracie Law in this one.
This movie is hilarious and glorious and terrible and satisfyingly entertaining. The movie zips along too fast for you to really understand what is going on, logic-wise, but that's okay because the film doesn't take it self seriously and doesn't expect you to either. The cast are having a lot of fun, you can tell, and they are overacting and chewing scenery like you wouldn't believe.
It's a lot of fun and mostly avoids negative stereotyping unless you count the overconfident white man.
It's a lot of fun, lots of action, check it out, it's worth a viewing.
