Don't waste your time with this one, it's terrible.

I spoke, briefly, about it in the post I Keep Falling Into Transformers Hell, https://steemit.com/film/@rvgenaille/i-keep-falling-into-transformers-hell, if you are interested in some of my random thoughts about it and the other Transformers films. Insomniac Film Festival #2: Transformers: The Movie, https://steemit.com/film/@rvgenaille/insomniac-film-festival-2-transformers-the-movie, reviews the animated movie from the 80s, a much better waste of your time than this one.

But, you're here, so, here's the review. This is a racist, misogynistic, confusing, over-whelming spectacle that changes the back story of the previous live action movie, adds types of robots that don't exist previously or in later films and dash my hopes that a Transformers movie from Michael Bay will be good. Bay doubles down on the leering at Megan Fox, making Shia LeBeouf overact and be annoying and makes giant robots fight so much you really can't tell them apart. Seriously.

There are robots here that are stereotypes of minstrel characters, they're racist caricatures that are cringe-worthy just thinking about. There are pot jokes and little robots humping legs and I was just not seeing what was so funny about anything. Plus it is so long and feels it.

The story, for what it's worth is Megatron, resurrected from the dead is seeking to bring the Fallen back to power and he needs to kill Optimus Prime and destroy the Matrix of Leadership so that the Fallen, one of the original Primes, I think, who came to Earth thousands of years ago and built a giant machine to destroy Earth and use the power of the sun to create the energy Cybertron needs. There's mystical stuff, Shia LeBeouf overacts, Megan Fox bends over a lot and things explode. Devastator shows up and I can't even continue anymore.

Bay is good at making the film look good but this is a painful movie that I don't plan to ever see again.
