Saga of the Sanctuary
The Galactic Tournament
Saori Kido, director of the Graude Foundation, organizes a tournament between the knights (The Galactic Tournament) in which warriors with powerful armor participate and who are known as the Bronze Knights, who fight not only for personal reasons, but also for the coveted and mysterious Golden Armor.
Meanwhile in ancient Greece a young man named Seiya fights against his rival Casio in order to obtain the Pegasus armor. When defeating it, Seiya manages to obtain the armor, but not before being warned by the Patriarch not to use it for personal benefit but in the name of justice. That same night Seiya and his teacher Marin del Águila rest in their home until they are attacked by subjects commanded by Shaina de Ophiuco, Casio's teacher, and they try to kill him to take off his armor. Seiya carries the armor and defeats his enemies in seconds, in addition to destroying the mask and seeing the face of Shaina, which according to the rules of the Sanctuary is forbidden. Shaina cries out for revenge by swearing to kill Seiya for her daring.
Back in Japan, Seiya meets his old friends, childhood orphanage companions, against whom he will be forced to fight if he decides to participate in the tournament. Seiya accepts with the sole objective of being able to find his sister, taking advantage of the fact that the tournament is broadcast worldwide. His first opponent outside the tournament was Jabu who tells him to leave the armor to Saori and take it off by force and both show their abilities and Saori saying that they will be in the tournament if it is given, but their rival in the tournament is Geki of Big Dipper who manages to defeat using his cunning and techniques such as Pegasus Meteor, which Jabu detected as a variant of a fist technique and which is similar to his and speaking of which are 100 beats per second as minimum . However, his real test is his fight against Shiryū of Dragon who manages to defeat with many complications and both are on the verge of death. After the combat, Seiya reunites forces and manages to save to Shiryū when striking the heart of the Dragoon that draws and blurs of its back thanks to its cosmos; Shiryū is in debt to him for having saved his life.
In the tournament, which continues without further complications, powerful warriors such as Hyoga del Cisne are revealed. In the manga, he travels from Siberia to fulfill the mission entrusted by the sanctuary: eliminate everyone for transgressing the Patriarch's law, which says they can not use armor for their own benefit. However, after observing the combat of Seiya and Shiryū changes his opinion about the knights. In the anime, he is simply part of the tournament as a fighter, without problems to finish his opponent Ichi Santo de Hidra, and witness the battle between the Pegasus and the Dragon.
The design of the coliseum where the galactic tournament is played is directly inspired by the Colosseum in Rome. It also highlights the appearance of a young man named Shun de Andromeda who, despite his tender and weak appearance manages to win the first encounter with his opponent Jabu del Unicornio (who had crushed his opponent Ban de León Menor and broken his armor). Once the victory is given to Shun, the combat is interrupted by the sudden appearance of a mysterious character inside the golden armor box. This one turns out to be Ikki de Fénix, the older brother of Shun.
