This blog is a personal journal of all the movies, Tv-Shows, & Games I consume during a year which enhances my overall experience. The ratings that I give are fully based on my personal preference and enjoyment at the time of watching and I'm writing spoiler-free reviews. (All liquid earnings are used to get extra Hive Power Delegations!)

When it comes down to Superhero movies, I'm personally not the biggest fan and the genre also has been milked like crazy especially the Spiderman story. There are the original Sam Raimi Trilogy with Toby Maguire, The Amazing Spider-Man Era with Andrew Garfield, the aminated 'into the Sipderverse' movies, and now the Home Era with Tom Holland. All of this in a timespan of less than 25 years which is just too much and I kind of lost interest even though the popularity of these movies has skyrocket. The way I see this movie and the reason that I still watched it is to have some totally brainless entertainment with the aim to have a good time which it kind of provided.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day (6.8/10)

Honestly, this movie kind of felt more like a series where I dropped in without really being caught up what happened previously. I did see the other Tom Holland & Zendaya Spiderman movies but they didn't really left much of an impression on me and I barely remembered what happened. All that I really recall was the 3 different spider-man actors appearing in the previous movie and that Tom Holland had to forget about Zendaya to make things right which is were we are left off in this one.

All of this left me with so many questions I had no clear answer for. Why was spiderman changing and going 'to the dark side' at times, who was this women in the bathhouse he went to get some info from, who is the guy with the guns? I know it is 'The Punisher' but I'm just not deep enough into the entire superhero lore to know anything about him or care, ...

There also was a villain which wasn't really a villain played by Sadie Sink from Stranger things who played Jean Grey who I think is one of the characters of x-Men but I'm not sure. There was a cool trick though that she transformed from peron to person which is also shown in the trailer but aside from this is was not really special or that scary where you felt the danger.

I also could not care too much about the romatic storyline in this one simply because I'm not invested in any way or form in the franchise. All of this kind of left me with a movie that had a plotline that barely existed but was full of 'fan service' which didn't really reach me and if anything confused me more. The Hulk was also part of this movie but I kind of feel like he has become an overused gimmick with too much CGI.

Despite everything, I didn't have any issue watching this movie for over 2 Hours straight and it did provide me with some brainless action entertainment so at least in that regard it succeeded even though at the same time it was quite forgettable. I fully understand though if people like this movie as back in the days when there were the avengers movies which were coming to a conclusion with the Thanos plotline, I also really enjoyed that because I was caught up on most characters.

Conclusion If you are fully caught up with the previous movies and the side characters in this movie, I can uderstand that you really enjoy watching it. Without, it kind of feels like dropping into a series without knowing much of what happened before which kind of was the case for me. I still fully watched the 2-hour+ runtime and it kind of entertained me. Aside from that it was totally forgettable fro me as a movie and mainly just provieded with a bit of brainless entertainment. So for that, I rate it a 6.8/10.

Great review! It's totally understandable how jumping into these massive franchises without keeping up with all the lore can feel a bit confusing with all the fan service. Still, at least it delivered some good brainless entertainment for a couple of hours. Excellent post, you've got my vote and support!
