LA LA LAND Musical Masterpiece

Review by @seki1 · 1456d · of La La Land

For all those fans of musical love films, you can't go any farther than La La Land. This is a 2016 musical directed by Damien Charzelle. It is actually the seventh film he has directed and I have to say it is a real classic.

Plot

When Sebastian, played by Ryan Gosling, a pianist, and Mia, played by Emma Stone, an actress, pursue their dreams and excel in their respective fields, they are forced to choose between their love for one another and their jobs.

For me I think the aim of a musical is to let the songs and dancing tell the story. The arrangement of songs in the film was spot on and second to none. Maybe second to Sing 2, but that's just my personal opinion. The cast played their roles perfectly. The chemistry between Sebastian and Mia was spot on and the discord after really showed what an arguing couple looks like. To be honest, I was simply impressed.

The film was really successful and brought in a total of 446.1 million dollars over a budget of 30 million dollars. It also won several awards, including the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, the Academy Award for Best Direction, and the Academy Award for Best Music.

To be honest, if it didn't win the award for best music, I would have thrown a fit about which other film in that year would have won it, with songs like City of Stars, Fools Who Dream, and Start a Fire, which was sung by none other than John Legend. I think it was the best film musically of 2017. The moral of this film is to follow your dreams, no matter how hard they may seem. So if you're a musical romance movie fan, here is La La Land.

I love this film and I have a great affection for it because it was the movie my husband and I saw on our first date.

Really like musicals and I must say that I was not disappointed at all, the music is beautiful and the story somewhat bittersweet, I loved that it did not have the typical happy ending.

    Thank you for sharing ✌️🤗
