I remember when I first started this anime. It seemed like a simple comedy slice of life, one that'll be a lighthearted watch. Back in 2022—yes, this is one of the few anime's that I viewed when it was airing—it started as such; a dumb cute mind reader, her spy dad and assassin mother. The perfect set up for a comedy action and it did its job beautifully.
So much so that I was eagerly waiting for the next season, which ended without a hitch and then against I joined the wait-list for this current season. One thing I did notice was the change in anime tone and the strengthening and deepening of the plot. Now, I just finished season 3 and it's just so different from season 1 that I'm like Wow
How did we leave the comic "spy adopts a child" trope into something way more mature, thought provoking and wholesome at the same time?

*** #### Plot > Operation Strix is still a go and the mission has grown numerous contingency plans as Yorr has coincidentally made friends with Melinda Desmond, the wife of Loid's target. Anya and Damians rocky friendship still carries on and becomes a bit more stable after numerous challenges they face. Regardless, the west is becoming more active and Loid Forger must try his best to make the mission a success. *** The trailer looks cute and fuzzy and I assure you the season is a little bit like that. Yet, it still does have its actions and thriller themes. After all, it featured the well anticipated "Mole arc" where we get to see Loid in real spy action and not the unnecessary athletics that Anya's day to day parenting calls for 😂The part of the anime that does stick to me though is from the episode's 40 where we get to see Loid's flashback to his time as a war orphan and we get to witness the Genesis of Twilight. https://youtube.com/shorts/MbW4uczHLRU?si=_vlimwQCrota30TB Regardless, we also get to see a very vivid account of what war is... Especially one that's happening from a child's point of view. It really was something new, fresh and unexpected from the show and that made it even more wholesome.

After this flashback we have more comedy and thrills that'll keep yoi on the edge of your seat in one moment and laughing or chuckling the next.
Spy X Family is a show that has managed to master the two extremes and it's one I believe everyone should watch, this Season 3 is the latest and in the full anime there are just about 50 episodes out so it's an easy one week Binge watch. It's wonderful for family and kids of 4-5 and above. I give it a 5 star rating ✨❤️
