Questa sarebbe dovuta essere la storia in 2 righe del film, o almeno quella da cui trae ispirazione.
L'abilità di Cooper è stata quella di sfumare questa storia, renderla più drammatica, intima e dotarla di infiniti chiaroscuri.
Un uomo si forte, si esperto, si talentuoso, si di successo quello incarnato da Cooper stesso ma anche dannato, sensibile, complesso e tutt'altro che perfetto.
Ed allora Ally (Lady Gaga) non sarà solo la donna da salvare ma diverrà essa stessa salvatrice creando un equilibrio perfetto ed un alchimia fra i 2 che da tempo mancava in film di questo tipo.
Ad impreziosire il tutto una serie di duetti e canzoni originali cantate dal duo permettendoci di scoprire il talento canoro di un Bradley Cooper stupendo in ogni scena ed in continua crescita.
Scoprirlo anche regista aggiunge valore ad un'artista troppo spesso relegato al ruolo di belloccio ma che anno dopo anno va affermandosi come una vera stella del firmamento hollywoodiano. Stella che riesce anche ad eclissare spesso una perfetta Lady Gaga, non a caso nominata per tutti i premi importanti dell'annata appena trascorsa.
A star is born si inserisce nell'ondata improvvisa di film e biopic canori che vedono nel film di Cooper ed in Bohemian Rhapsody i primi e più importanti eventi cinematografici di genere negli ultimi anni.
Il film è promosso a pieni voti, con un finale molto di impatto e coraggioso e varie scelte mai banali in una storia altrimenti vista mille volte.
