A century seems to have passed since ABC revealed that the spearhead of the serial schedule would be the very first MARVEL series to land on the small screen. The American generalist TV set up in the MARVEL context, which was experiencing its ascent following the arrival of the first Avengers on the big screen, promising a series that would somehow fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, without however intersecting in a deep way but living off its own characters, its own storylines. To direct the series would have been a very big name like Jos Whedon with his brother Jed as scriptwriter. The very high hype, however, was disregarded. In MARVEL Agents of Shield there were no Thor or Iron Man, there were no superheroes, there were no tights, there were no enemies with amazing powers but only a lot of quotes and references to the most famous heroes. The fans soon abandoned the series that saw an incredible drop in ratings and that from the very first episodes was at risk of cancellation. Fortunately for us, after 6 years we are here to talk about the sixth season of MARVEL Agents of Shield. The ABC for once turned a blind eye to the ratings and was able to convince itself of the potential of a series that had perhaps deluded on characters and themes that would have addressed but that like a turbo diesel was able to gear up after half an introductory season without stopping. Since then the series has never disappointed again. He inherited from MCU the irony, the nerditude, the gravitas in crucial moments, the ability to build complicated but coherent worlds and characters and gradually introduced his heroes, sometimes human, sometimes inhuman, sometimes divine, sometimes enhanced. Those who were able to resist the idea of initial abandonment have seen high dividends paid. Today, while the Marvel/Netflix sereie set sail, the arrowverse is an ever more indistinct jumble, other cinecomic operations struggle to emerge brilliantly on TV, the Whedon series is still a fixed point, a bastion of entertainment on TV. A series that entertains, amuses and exalts but also knows how to take charge of high emotional moments. The sixth season of the series, which just ended in the United States, has shown the same general line drawn in its long course. The start was very compact but reasoned and always fun and at the same time solemn, and then he pushed hard on the accelerator in the last episodes and gave a wonderful final double episode, dense and full of incredible twists. A series that will be sorely missed when it's gone. The imminent end leaves a great bitterness in the mouth but the certainty that the final will not disappoint given what the series has been able to give in recent years and seen the wise and daring final of the sixth season that has left the mouth watering to all fans.
Sembra passato un secolo da quando la ABC rivelò che la punta di diamante del palinsesto seriale sarebbe stata la primissima serie MARVEL ad approdare sul piccolo schermo. La tv generalista americana si insediò nel contesto MARVEL, che viveva la sua fase di ascesa in seguito all'approdo sul grande schermo dei primi Avengers, promettendo una serie che in qualche modo si inserisse a piene mani nel Marvel Cinematic Universe, senza tuttavia intersecarsi in maniera profonda ma vivendo di propri personaggi, di proprie storyline. A dirigere la serie sarebbe stato un nome grossissimo come Jos Whedon con suo fratello Jed a sceneggiare. L'hype altissimo fu però disatteso. In MARVEL Agents of Shield non c'erano Thor o Iron Man, non vi erano supereroi, non vi erano calzamaglie, non vi erano nemici dai poteri mirabolanti ma solo un mucchio di citazioni e riferimenti agli eroi più celebri. Gli appassionati abbandonarono ben presto la serie che vide un crollo di ascolti incredibile e che sin dalle prime puntate fu a rischio cancellazione. Per nostra fortuna dopo 6 anni siamo qui a parlare della sesta stagione di MARVEL Agents of Shield. La ABC per una volta tanto ha chiuso un occhio sugli ascolti ed ha saputo convincersi del potenziale di una serie che aveva forse illuso su personaggi e tematiche che avrebbe affrontato ma che come un turbo diesel ha saputo ingranare dopo mezza stagione introduttiva senza più fermarsi. Da allora la serie non ha più deluso. Ha ereditato dall'MCU l'ironia, la nerditudine, la gravitas nei momenti cruciali, l'abilità di costruire mondi e personaggi complicati ma coerenti ed ha a poco a poco introdotto i suoi eroi, talvolta umani, talvolta inumani, talvolta divini, talvolta potenziati. Chi ha saputo resistere all'idea dell'abbandono iniziale ha visto pagare dividendi altissimi. Oggi, mentre le sereie Marvel/Netflix tramontano, l'arrowverse è un'accozzaglia sempre più indistinta, altre operazioni da cinecomic faticano ad emergere brillantemente in tv, la serie di Whedon resta dichiaratamente un punto fermo, un baluardo dell'intrattenimento in tv. Una serie che intrattiene a dovere, diverte ed esalta ma sa anche farsi carico di momenti emozionali altissimi. La sesta stagione della serie, appena conclusasi negli Stati Uniti, ha mostrato la stessa linea generale tratteggiata nel suo lungo corso. Partenza molto compassata ma ragionata e sempre divertente e al tempo stesso solenne per poi spingere molto sull'acceleratore nelle ultime puntate e regalare una doppia puntata finale stupenda, densa e piena di colpi di scena incredibili. Una serie che mancherà tanto quando non ci sarà più. La fine imminente lascia dunque un grande amaro in bocca ma la certezza che il finale non deluderà visto quanto la serie ha saputo regalare in questi anni e visto il sapiente e rocambolesco finale di sesta stagione che ha lasciato l'acquolina in bocca a tutti gli appassionati.
