Se nel primo episodio si aveva come l'impressione che Hugh Grant fosse lì solo per fare da complemento di arredo, nel corso della serie l'attore ha saputo conferire magnetismo e mistero ad un personaggio veramente indecifrabile ed enigmatico.

Hugh Grant interpreta Jonhatan Fraser, marito della dottoressa Fraser (Nicole Kidman), stimatissimo oncologo pediatrico, rispettatissimo dalla comunità, affascinante, amorevole, padre e marito devoto.
