DANDADAN
Hi guys!
Hope everyone is well and having a wonderful 2022!
What I'm about to talk about is a manga I've recently been enjoying and I thought I'd share some screenshots from and talk about.
As I may have mentioned in my previous posts concerning anime and manga, I'm a big fan of action, interesting characters, and visuals.
"Dandadan" is about two protagonists:
- A pretty high-school girl named Momo Ayase who doesn't believe in extra-terrestrials
- And a nerdy high-school boy named Ken Takakura who doesn't believe in ghosts

This quickly changes when the two very different high-school kids must work together to not only find a way to free Takakura after he gets cursed by a powerful ghost called the Turbo Granny ....

... But also protect Ayase who develops psychic powers and becomes targeted by dangerous extra-terrestrials.

I don't want to explain what any of these screenshots mean or are about because it'd spoil the story -- but just look at how magnificent this art is. Not to bash on western cartoons or mainstream anime/manga but sometimes I want to see something that's Berserk-level and just fills me with awe and immediately tells me that the artist put their heart and soul into drawing what I get the privilege of enjoying.

I especially enjoy how menacingly bizarre the art is in "Dandadan" and love the way the artists plays with angles and focus.

This is definitely one of those panels where when I first looked at it, I immediately thought -- "This is some high quality Berserk level stuff here.

And the show doesn't just have beautiful panels but really crazy action sequences that are done with this windy twisty style that I really appreciated.

Sometimes the art wasn't super detailed but the concept of what I was looking at made me pause because of how strange it was.

Once again, awesome action sequences. And it doesn't just start off great, the action and story and character development just gets better and better.

I'd love to tell you what's going on here but it'd be a disservice to anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of enjoying "Dandadan" yet.

Hope this post finds everyone well and I'll try to make more anime and manga recommendations in the future. I'm in now way an expert on the subject but as a fan I just want to share what's caught my interest lately. Please let me know if you have any recommendations of your own! I'm always eager to enjoy more great stuff.
