  1. Finally Watched "Dan Da Dan"... and I'm Glad I Did! XD@tegoshei213d

There have been a lot of popular animated series that I haven't watched yet. It's not that I don't have time to watch them; I just tend to watch other, not-so-popular ones. Either that, or I'm busy reading manga pr Webtoons. *hahaha*
I just watched Frieren, Golden Kamuy, and Tensura this year, even though they were released years earlier... and recently, I finished the first and second seasons of ***Dan Da Dan***, and I want to talk about them.
    > ***NOTE: All photos I'll be using are from [Dan Da Dan's Official Website.](https://anime-dandadan.com/)***

    $1

A popular high school girl named Ayase Momo was trying to process her feelings following her breakup. While doing so, she saw her socially awkward schoolmate, Takakura Ken, being bullied, so she approached him and stood up for him.

    $1

However, that incident led him to believe she had become his new friend, who is also obsessed with aliens and UFOs. However, she doesn't think that they exist; instead, she insists that ghosts and spirits in the supernatural realm are the ones that exist.
Because of this, a rivalry between them started. They both want to prove the other wrong, so they challenged each other.

    $1

Despite their opposing beliefs, they ended up forming an intimate bond and found themselves drawn to paranormal occurrences. They both developed abilities beyond normal and started a partnership to allow survival.

    $1

In season two, the gang kept growing... so did the number of mysteries and supernatural entities going after them. XD

    BORDER canva-Photoroom.png

I was already quite aware of the story because I've heard about this anime a lot. I've also read a couple of chapters of the manga, but didn't continue, because I thought it would be interesting to follow the animated version for this.
I'm a fan of the supernatural, though more similar to Momo, than Okarun (Takakura Ken). I especially like stories about Japanese yokai and urban legends. I find them entertaining, and I've learned more about them after talking with some of my students. haha
Though I'm not much into aliens, I do watch some videos and read articles related to sightings and other stuff. I believe they exist somewhere in this vast universe... though I hope they won't be the same as the ones in this anime. Well, except for Chiquitita and Mr. Mantis Shrimp. This father-and-child duo is adorable! <3
The concept and story are to my liking! And the characters are so fun! I love Granny Seiko! She's the coolest... and I also really like Jin because of the gap in his character... the cool yet goofy type. And whenever he transforms into Evil Eye, I just swoon! hahaha
This eccentric anime is perfect for an eccentric excuse-for-a-human like me. hahaha It reminded me of when I was working in the English Academy. One of my Korean students claimed that he's a wolf, and that he doesn't believe I'm fully human. He said there's anime in my blood. hahaha
And ohh... the final scene from season two reminds me of Voltes V and Ultraman. hahaha I don't know why, but it's so nostalgic. The art style is to my liking, and the animation is so colorful and fun! The soundtrack is a banger!
The comical side of the story is also very entertaining... and for some reason, I don't mind the slight romance they're portraying. I just love awkward relationships like the one they have. I hope it stays that way and won't turn into a full-on romance genre, especially after watching the final episode. XD

    $1

Anyway, the third season has been confirmed, though there aren't any specific details yet. I'm looking forward to watching it. I can't wait to see what their next adventure will be.
I'll end this post here. Thanks for reading, and see you around! (^^,)/

  2. Dandadan : When Ghost, Aliens And Madness Collides.@aikay238d

I started watching Dandadan out of curiosity few days ago, because honestly just the name alone already sounds like something that's unserious, so I thought it was just going to be another random supernatural anime, but omo, I wasn’t ready for the level of craziness this show came with, From the very first episode, it just grabs you by the neck with energy , oone minute, it’s ghosts and alot of curses, the next minute it’s UFOs and aliens trying to abduct somebody’s soul, like, pick a struggle, please! But somehow, it all works.

Yeah ... So the story follows Momo Ayase and Okarun, two high-school students who are total opposites, Momo believes in ghosts but not aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but not ghosts, So, they decide to prove each other wrong and that’s where all the madness begins, before you know it, both of them encounter exactly what they don’t believe in, and the show just goes from “hmm interesting” to “what in the supernatural nonsense is happening here?”

The animation is Fire , I won't lie, The studio, Science SARU, really did put their whole energy into this one, every fight scene feels alive, and even the comedic reactions look so expressive that you can feel the characters’ emotions through the screen, i especially love how colorful and fast-paced the art is , it is like watching chaos in HD.

Now let's now talk about the characters, Momo is such a big vibe, she’s smart, bold, and has that “I don’t have time for nonsense” kind of attitude that makes her stand out, then Okarun, on the other hand, is just this shy, awkward boy who turns into a complete powerhouse when things go wrong, their chemistry is what really makes the anime shine, It’s not just about aliens or ghosts , it is infact about how these two totally different people learn to trust and depend on each other through the most ridiculous situations ever.

What really got me hooked here though, is how Dandadan manages to balance fear, action, and comedy all at once, One moment you are screaming because some weird alien looking thing is chasing them, and the next moment you are laughing like mad because of the way they react to it, The comedy part, ehn, I won’t lie , at some point, it became too funny, as in there were scenes that were supposed to be serious, but the humor just wouldn’t allow you to take it seriously, the over the top reactions, the random shouting, and the awkward situations had me laughing when I was supposed to be shocked, But maybe that’s what makes Dandadan special I'm it's own way, it doesn’t want you to take it too seriously.

So as someone who likes anime that really does mixes different emotions, I think Dandadan really hits that sweet spot for me , it has those wild action moments that keep your eyes glued to the screen at all times , emotional scenes that actually touch your heart, and comedy that just makes everything feel lighter.

So why do I like it? First, it is unpredictable , like you never know what kind of nonsense will happen next, and that keeps it exciting, Second, the relationship between Momo and Okarun feels real, even with all the supernatural madness going on, third, the animation quality is top tier, every episode looks like something straight out of a movie.

Though, the comedy sometimes made things too chaotic, there were moments I wished the tone would stay serious a little longer, especially during the intense emotional scenes, But even with that, I can’t complain too much sha.... it’s that same craziness that makes Dandadan unforgettable.

In the end, Dandadan is one of those anime that doesn’t care about following rules, in fact It’s weird, funny, spooky, and also heartwarming all at once.

    Plot

The second season picks up right where the first season left off, with Momo Ayase, Okarun (Ken Takakura), and Jiji (Jin Enjoji) facing a new and formidable threat. Momo is relaxing in a public bathroom after a long journey when, suddenly, a group of strange and disturbing-looking men appear. She tries to leave, but they won't leave her alone, so she has to face them all alone. Meanwhile, Okarun and Jiji are at home when they notice that the hole they made in the wall reveals an unknown room that was completely closed off and filled with seals inside.

    SPANISH VERSION

    Trama

Next, I'll leave you with the trailer for the second season of this anime:

As I have mentioned on other occasions, I don't usually talk about the same anime again, but this time is simply special, as I have done on other occasions when I love an anime so much. In this case, I also wanted to take advantage of the previous broadcast of its second season to talk about Dandadan and how much I really love it. It's incredible that this is happening to me with such a peculiar anime. At first glance, it seemed to have a plot and characters like any other shōnen, but little by little I realized that it has many interesting and fascinating things to offer.

It's not often that you see a work that blends several genres so well, but none do it as incredibly as Dandadan does by combining the supernatural with science fiction, drama, action, comedy, suspense, and even romance. Those who are familiar with this anime can't deny that, at one point or another, they've noticed this variety of genres in its episodes. And it's something that really stands out, because it's not just the audiovisual aspect or how well-made the animated adaptation is, which everyone agrees on so far. Personally, I consider a work to be good when it achieves a balance between the audiovisual and the narrative.

After all, we are talking about a form of entertainment and, like any other form of entertainment, this anime manages to capture the viewer's attention from the very first minute with striking characters that are easy to empathize with as they experience somewhat strange and even dangerous situations. This type of work may be quite repetitive and overused in this industry, especially when it comes to action shōnen. But in the case of Dandadan, it's simply hard to stop watching because not only is it entertaining, but it's so well done that it's fascinating to see the development we see throughout the series.

From the moment I saw the first season, I knew immediately that the key reason why Dandadan is so successful and has achieved such a perfect balance between its different genres is thanks to its characters. In fact, you could say that the story itself revolves around two characters in particular. You know which couple I'm referring to: Momo and Okarun. From their first encounter in the famous first episode to the moment this post was published, these two show us their entire story together in this gem of a story. And as much as it sounds like a joke, what I'm talking about here is truly a love story.

    1760866332815.png

Sure, it has its unbeatable level of action and a variety of supernatural and science fiction elements that are fascinating just to watch. But in the end, what we see is two high school teenagers meeting and going through endless strange things together as they become friends and... over time, something more, who knows (I'm not going to give you any spoilers, so don't worry). Both Momo and Okarun show their feelings for each other in a special way, starting with arguments and differences, but then they mature and learn things that make them better people both for themselves and for others.

It's ironic that a simple shōnen action anime, which at the time was much talked about for its fanservice at the beginning and the number of clichés in its plot, has such good characters. But this is because the work itself manages to develop them very well. For example, in this second season, we get to know Jiji and the curse on his house in more depth. An entire arc is dedicated to a single secondary character who, over time, becomes someone unmistakable and irreplaceable. Undoubtedly, it is not very common to see this type of character development in any anime of this style.

    1760866332815.png

All of this is entertaining, since it's the story of teenagers with powers and curses, it's easy to empathize with them because of what they experience and face. It's also fun to see how anime always has that mix of unnatural elements and things with unique characters living ordinary lives. Obviously, it's the way these characters deal with problems and make decisions that makes them special. We see how Momo and Okarun gradually grow closer, even with the appearance of Jiji. We also see how their lives change little by little, beyond the issue of ghosts and aliens.

The way Dandadan breaks with the typical "hero's journey" plot and all that is most interesting. I say this because each character that is incorporated into each new arc practically takes a part of the limelight, without completely excluding the main characters, of course. This, coupled with the theme of aliens, ghosts, yokai, kaiju, and other creatures that we will see in this second season, gives the work that touch of always offering something new and authentic, reusing plots, elements, and characters that, for many, may be repetitive or very common in this industry. But for those of us who know the work, we are sure that this is not always the case.

    1760866332815.png

    1760866332815.png

Of course, as I said before, this does not exempt Dandadan from the typical clichés of all shōnen. We see a misfit and unsociable protagonist befriend the popular girl at school who, over time, falls in love with him. Then another attractive girl appears who is also attracted to the protagonist, making this the typical love triangle theme. And with the way this second season ends, we may even see a harem dedicated to our beloved Okarun, which is common in this type of anime. But beyond these details, we see a fairly entertaining story thanks to the way these characters we get to know develop and don't easily win our hearts.

Another thing I really like about this anime is the peculiar way it mixes elements of popular culture with references or easter eggs from other franchises in the industry. Comics, magazines, collections, toys, songs, etc. It's common to see so many elements in a story like this, as it's an action-comedy shōnen that, ironically, is aimed at an audience that is fanatical about the paranormal, the supernatural, and current otaku culture. Dandadan can even be interpreted as a well-executed parody of these types of stories about aliens, ghosts, and cursed places. Another thing it has, and which is not lacking in this second season, is its humor.

    1760866332815.png

    InShot_20251107_193157625.gif

    Source: Tenor

    1760866332815.png

Like all action shōnen, it has its comedy, a comedy that can be both absurd and typical of hormonal teenagers. It's not that strong, but it's not that mild either, and I still like it a lot. Something I appreciate about this second season is that the fanservice is reduced to almost zero from start to finish, which is good for those who criticized this in the first season. Another thing I really appreciate about this anime is how fantastic it is at hooking you in and keeping you guessing about what will happen next, always leaving you wanting more until the very end. Not to mention the plot twists and surprises in each episode.

Last but not least, let's talk about the audiovisual aspect of this second season of Dandadan. As expected, Science Saru manages to maintain a very high level of quality, just as it did with the first season. The drawing style, character designs, and mix and variety of color palettes and tones for each scene are fantastic. The fluidity is also surprising, with excellent details and an unmistakable style. The shots and the use of light and shadow are not far behind either. The sound effects are also excellent, but nothing compared to the incredible soundtrack. Simply put, this is an anime you must see, even if you've already seen it before coming here.

Personally, I give it a well-deserved 10/10 rating in terms of the action, supernatural, science fiction, comedy, and romance genres.

  4. Finally watched DanDaDan@omokhafue246d

Oh I finally get the hype. I was waiting for the second season to come out so I don’t get stucked sulking after it, the way they did me for Hell’s paradise and chainsaw man. By the way, the reze arc of chainsaw man is out and I haven’t had time to go see it yet but I heard it’s amazing. I can’t wait to see it man.

I have been watching dandandan for a while and although I didn’t have the energy in me to binge watch an entire season in one night, the same way I did solo leveling season 2(yes, I watched the second season after saying I wouldn’t till 2027.)

    IMG_1810.jpeg Source

Little flash to the current time and world: I slept off mid writing this and I am continuing after 9 hours. I just…you know thought you guys needed to know that;)

Anyways, Dandandan is a series about Momo and Okarun. It’s about aliens and spirits. Very crazy combo, I know — I thought the same thing too.

The story begins with a simple argument. Momo Ayase is a spirited high school girl who firmly believes in ghosts but thinks aliens are nonsense. Ken Takakura, nicknamed “Okarun” by Momo, is the complete opposite—he’s convinced aliens exist but scoffs at the idea of ghosts. Like any good disagreement between teenagers, they decide to settle it with a bet. Momo will visit a UFO hotspot to prove aliens don’t exist, while Okarun will explore a haunted tunnel to prove ghosts aren’t real. It seems like a harmless challenge, but things go spectacularly wrong for both of them. When Momo arrives at the UFO location, she’s suddenly abducted by actual aliens called the Serpoians, who have disturbing plans for her. Meanwhile, Okarun’s trip to the haunted tunnel introduces him to Turbo Granny, a terrifying yokai spirit with incredible speed and malicious intent. Both teens barely escape with their lives, but their troubles are just beginning. Okarun becomes possessed by Turbo Granny, gaining supernatural powers but losing something rather important in the process—his genitals, which the spirit steals and scatters across different locations as golden orbs.

IMG_1811.jpeg Source It is a very good show and now, I get the hype. I am about to watch the second season. Might be 16+ but still a peak show. I definitely recommend.

    Thank you for reading;)

Greetings, dear otakus of #TheAnimeRealm. Last week, the highly acclaimed second season of Dandadan ended. And although it took me a while to start watching it, I couldn't stop watching every episode that aired from the moment I decided to give it a chance.

For this review, even though I watched the season finale last week, I wanted to bring you my thoughts this week. To lighten the buzz around the series a bit, since I understand many Hive users are huge fans of Dandadan, and I'm one of them, too. 🤣

    Momo Kinta GIF.gif

If you thought the first season was a bit crazy and out of place, this second part surpasses it with more craziness and inconsistencies that occurred throughout its 12 episodes. If you want to read what I thought of the first season, you can click HERE.

    Dandadan GIF (2).gif

This second season came with everything. Dandadan is known for presenting both main and secondary characters in iconic, unique, and extravagant ways. I liked Evil Eye the most, but I can't deny that when I saw the band that came to help perform an exorcism on Momo's Grandmother, I was thrilled and laughed a lot seeing them with this strange style somewhere between gothic and rock.

    Momo Headbang GIF.gif

If someone like that comes to my house, I don't let them in because of how strange they dress and how they look, but to tell the truth, this is what I liked most about Dandadan T2, that no matter how strange you behave or wear an outfit that doesn't match even a little bit, here nobody judges you, nobody criticizes you or discriminates against you.

    Jiji GIF.gif

Rather, they welcome you into the group so you can integrate and have a good time. This is what they did with Evil Eye, and at first, I was quite worried because he seemed so dangerous to be around that I had no idea how they could help Jiji. However, I didn't want them to take Evil Eye out of the game because, despite all his quirks, I liked him and managed to understand him, just like Jiji did.

    Dandadan GIF (1).gif

And I recommend that if you want to watch this series, you watch it in your native language. It's much more enjoyable than dubbed into Japanese with Spanish subtitles. I missed out on a lot of humor and hilarious inconsistencies with Turbo Abuela when I watched it in its original language with subtitles in my language.

    Momo GIF.gif

I loved watching how Momo and Okarun's relationship evolved. The series never abandons its romantic touch, and when it returns to it, it does so impeccably that it becomes memorable. It's a true love story that unfolds subtly, without pressure or imposition; it just happens because it does. The best part is that the two reciprocate, so it's quite lovely to see a teenage love grow and mature until it becomes real.

    Dandadan GIF.gif

And I know many loved the episode where Okarun trained with Aira, but I honestly didn't like it much. And the fact is that so much happened in this second season. For me, the best episodes were the ones with Evil Eye and, of course, the last two.

    Mecha GIF.gif

Seeing this very different kind of Mecha, mixed with the powers of Momo and Air, plus the imagination of a new member of the group called Kinta (a supernatural and robotics geek, as well as being the most perverted of the group 🤣), was undoubtedly, for me, the best episode of all.

    Jiji GIF (1).gif

And what about the season two finale? Well, it ended with a bang. I was so intrigued that I don't know whether to wait for season three to see how this romantic situation between Momo and Okarun is resolved, or read the manga to learn more about the new characters who are about to join the group.

    Jiji GIF (2).gif

I haven't decided yet, but what do you recommend? This series was the craziest and most incoherent I've ever seen, but it had me laughing out loud with so many improvisations and strange situations. I loved it so much that I became a fan and want to see more of Dandadan. I recommend it not because of the hype, but because of how funny it is. I give it all five stars.

  6. Review - Dan da dan temporada 2@genesishealthy285d

    Hello! 💙

The first season of this anime was a total sensation—there's no other way to put it. The animation, the story, all the romance, the action that was brewing in the first season—now we see it amplified in this second season. The truth is that the story is still just as entertaining. I can't say that there is an increase in anything specific. In fact, I think that the first and second seasons are equally good; neither surpasses the other. But what I did like is that new characters are added that end up contributing a lot to the plot. And what I liked most is that, just like in the first season, here we can see the romantic development of the main characters. Even though we all know they're going to stay together, we still enjoy watching all the drama that revolves around them.

Mal de Ojo is one of the new members of this family, so to speak. The truth is that at first you end up hating him, but then you somehow manage to understand him. You don't want to spoil this, but in fact, the rock music part was impressive and is one of the best sequences, at least in my opinion, of this season. We also see, as in all anime, a training phase in which the characters develop their powers, but I think what's also great is that the training phase lasts only one episode. It doesn't drag on; they just get straight to the point. And I think that's one of the strongest points of this series: the plots get straight to the point and don't make you wait too long to get somewhere.

    image.png

If I had to point out one negative aspect, which isn't entirely negative, it's that the season finale leaves you wanting more and with too many questions. However, those who have read the manga can more or less guess where the plot is going because, in fact, it's an almost faithful adaptation of the manga and they haven't changed anything particularly. And that's a very good point in its favor. The animation is still superbly done, and the best thing about it is that it already has a third season has already been announced. I say this because of the genuine excitement that this second season gave me and how eager I am to see a third. I think that even if you haven't given this series a chance, you should do so now that the first two seasons are available. I'm sure it's a perfect series to binge-watch.

  7. 🎬 📹 Dandadan Season 2 🎬 📹@takeru255293d

Just yesterday, the final episode of Dandadan Season 2 premiered, and after watching it, I can't help but want to share my thoughts on the impressions this second part of the series left on me. Jiji was undoubtedly the main character throughout the 12 episodes, and one of the things I liked most about the series in general was the sense of not judging the evil spirit just for being evil, and giving it a chance at redemption through empathy and active listening.

    image.png

And if you found the first season a bit crazy, the second part surpasses it by adding even more insane, hilarious situations that will make you laugh out loud. They also include extravagantly strange characters that add an extra touch to the animation, with behaviors so irrational that it makes you wonder if they're creatures of this world or extraterrestrials. I honestly thought many of these characters in the second season would turn out to be aliens from another universe, like the strange, perverted men who wanted to harass Momo in the hot springs.

I also really like the fact that Okarun is so shy and shy, just like teenagers tend to be in real life, riddled with insecurity and doubts about everything they experience. I also really enjoyed seeing the friendships develop between this atypical group of friends, where each of them has something that makes them special. I don't mean this because of their superpowers, but because somehow, when they work together, they complement each other like a real family would.

    image.png

Turbo Granny remains my favorite character in the entire series. My favorite episode was the one where she trained Okarun, with the help of Aira Shiratori and her yokai, Acrobatic Silky, to fight the musical ghosts to the beat of the music. This part was truly unexpected and fabulous to watch. All the effects, from the monochromaticity (which was the best part for me) to the hilarious touches of seeing these big-headed ghosts play their most famous symphonies and even classical music as an enemy, were simply majestic.

    image.png

Plus, the fight scenes between Evil Eye and Okarun were also on another level. The series finale was a great one, wrapping up with a bang and adding a new character who turned out to be more than just a school weirdo, but a hilarious pervert. Although he didn't participate much in the second season, Kinta Sakata stood out quite a bit with his impromptu participation to save our protagonists using the strangest giant robot I've ever seen. And that's what I love about Dandadan: it always surprises you with hilarious, fun, and unexpectedly crazy moments.

  8. (ESP-ENG) Dandadan [Season 2] | A story that never fades - Anime Review!@javyeslava.photo294d

    **

Hello friends, positive vibes to everyone.

    **

Hola amigos, buenas vibras para todos.

    Source!

The second season of Dandadan ended yesterday, and almost simultaneously, the third season was announced. From the very first episode, I knew I would love this anime; it's completely different from what I, at least, usually watch. The first season was truly unique, introducing us to irreverent, quirky characters with distinct personalities that made us quickly grow fond of them. I thought it would be difficult for the second season to reach the same level as the first, but in my opinion, it even surpassed it. We saw some truly great and impressive episodes; I have a couple of episodes in particular that were absolutely outstanding.

12 episodes that felt like an eternity, given everything that happened: the conclusion of the cursed house arc involving Jiji, the emergence of the "evil eye" curse that resides within Jiji himself, and the final part of the season with the arrival of Kinta, a captivating and eccentric character who proved invaluable to Okarun and Momo in their fight against a new alien creature, culminating in the season finale. All of this unfolds while the relationship between Momo and Okarun continues to develop. I think that, plot-wise, this season is much more complete; there are many more unpredictable events, the animation remains top-notch, and the moments of brilliance we see in some episodes truly elevate the entire series.

    Source!

One of the things I've enjoyed most is the depth of character development they give to the characters; we see this a lot in Kimetsu no Yaiba, but they use this technique effectively here as well. Learning about the origins of the "curse of the evil eye" and the reason for its existence is fantastic, because even though it's a curse, it generates a great deal of empathy in the viewer. You even feel sad for the characters because of everything that lies behind it. Dandadan does a great job of humanizing the characters, enveloping everything in an emotional aura that weaves itself between the comedy and mystery of the story, resulting in a plot that is deeper than it initially appears. This makes watching each episode a unique experience, because what we're exposed to is always different, and that's one of the things I value most about this anime.

Two episodes in particular convinced me that this season was better than the previous one. The first is the one where Okarun trains with his "Turbo Grandma" using music; they use a metronome to improve his speed. That entire episode is one of the best I've seen in anime in a long time, mainly because it's so ingenious and realistic. Everything explained in it is accurate; discussing the timing between notes and relating it to movement was truly eye-opening, and I'm saying this as someone who knows about music. The second episode is the one with Jiji's exorcism and the curse. HAYASii's performance with that heavy metal song was epic, despite the controversy surrounding it. The entire episode is a gem.

I still think that the true value of this anime lies in its characters, the relationships between them, and the way they interact—it's a kind of hilarious love-hate dynamic. Everyone has something special, everyone is important, and everyone adds a spark to the story. The ending of this season was great; getting to know Kinta was fantastic, and we also learned about his background and his insecurities; at heart, he's a really good person, just a little quirky. But the real highlight was the final scene, which will undoubtedly set the stage for the third season. I have to admit I laughed because poor Okarun already has so many problems on his plate, and now he has to deal with another one. Momo's reaction and everything that happens around it is so good; it leaves you wanting to know more.

In short, an incredible season, 100% better than the first one. New characters, a whirlwind of exciting experiences, and the animation quality remains top-notch. Even the opening theme, as I mentioned in another review, is much better than the one by Creepy Nuts. We'll have to wait until next year for the third season. If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and watch it; you'll really enjoy it. Here's the trailer below.

So, this right here is my drawing of Okarun from Dandadan. I decided to draw him in that bold, high-contrast manga style because it really matches his energy sharp, intense, and just a little bit chaotic. Okarun’s one of those characters that instantly stands out to me, not just for how he looks, but for what he represents.

    8f1a8fdc-2e42-4f59-a2a6-e49f66dd5662.png

If you’ve watched Dandadan, you know Okarun starts off as this shy, awkward guy who gets picked on, who doesn’t have much confidence in himself. But after that crazy encounter with Turbo Granny, everything changes. He gains these insane powers, yeah the speed, the strength, the wild white hair but what I like most is that his courage grows with every fight. He doesn’t suddenly become fearless; he’s still scared sometimes. But he steps up anyway, and that’s what makes him a hero.

    39009277-de06-4717-9bd5-1b18bf1ee1b9.png

I wanted my drawing to capture that version of Okarun the one who’s in the middle of battle, grinning through the chaos, ready to take on whatever’s coming. The mix of his cursed form and that determined personality just makes him such a unique main character. That’s why I chose him. And honestly, characters like Okarun are why I love anime they remind you that even if you start off small, you can grow into something powerful if you keep going."

Ken Takakura was never the kind of boy who stood out. To most of his classmates, he was just “that weird kid” who buried himself in magazines about aliens and the paranormal. They called him Okarun a teasing mix of “occult” and “kun” but Ken never minded.

That all changed the day he met Momo Ayase. She was everything he wasn’t bold, sharp tongued, utterly confident and she couldn’t stand his alien obsession. He thought ghosts were nonsense, she thought aliens were a joke, so they struck a challenge: prove the other wrong. It should have been harmless fun. Instead, it became the night that turned Okarun’s life upside down.

A visit to a cursed tunnel brought him face-to-face with Turbo Granny, a vengeful spirit who ripped the breath from his lungs and left something behind a dark, boiling power that clawed at the edges of his mind. Overnight, Okarun changed. His hair turned white, his eyes burned with an unnatural light, and his speed and strength became inhuman. He could leap across rooftops, vanish into phone lines, and sense the invisible horrors lurking between worlds.

But power came with danger. Each fight against yokai, aliens, and the grotesque supernatural forces drew him deeper into a life he never asked for. And yet, through it all, Momo stood by him not because she saw a hero, but because she saw Ken.

Together, they battled curses, unmasked ancient spirits, and faced truths far stranger than either had imagined. Somewhere along the way, the awkward boy who hid in the shadows became something else someone braver, stronger, and maybe… someone who could finally believe in himself.

Okarun’s story isn’t just about monsters and ghosts it’s about finding your place in a world that keeps telling you you don’t belong. And if you stick with him, you’ll see: even the quietest, most overlooked person can become the loudest force in the fight against darkness.

    And a huge shout-out to a big supporter of mine💯 @ocdb 🥺 i really appreciate you💝 for all your support🤗

¿Vaya pareja no? Pues de entrada me identifiqué con Okarun.

    3.png 4.png

Me explico.

Greetings, my favorite Otakus from #TheAnimeRealm. I hope you are enjoying the rest of your weekend so you can start the first official week of August full of energy. Today I bring you my opinion on a series that I recently gave a chance to and that everyone is talking about right now. It's called DanDaDan.

    SepDesarrollo2025.gif

    Captura de pantalla 2025-08-03 193328.png

It's worth noting that I watched it in its original language with Spanish subtitles on my phone. Maybe it wasn't the best option, but the truth is that at that precise moment I needed to watch something different, and when I heard about this series that mixes aliens, ghosts, and... love?, seeing such a peculiar plot, I had to give it a try.

Thankfully, I didn't watch it earlier because I would have been desperate to wait a whole year to see the second season, which is currently airing. I plan to start watching it as soon as I finish the second season of My Happy Marriage.

    1.png 2.png

What I liked most about this series was its blend of horror and fun, with touches of perverted jokes or ones that can be misinterpreted to give them a double meaning. For me, this was a gem. I had never seen an anime that balanced the themes of fear, perversion, and humor so spectacularly.

Dandadan tells the story of Ken ‘Okarun’ Takakura and his unexpected “friendly” relationship with Momo Ayase. He loves to talk about aliens, while she is attracted to the supernatural and ghostly. What a couple, right? Well, from the start, I identified with Okarun.

    3.png 4.png

His personal story reminded me a lot of my own, not so much during my childhood but now. This is because I have so few friends that I can count them on one hand and still have fingers left over. So in this respect, Okarun and I are the same, as is his split personality who Le Pega la Depre (gets depressed).

This phrase struck me as one of the funniest, and it made a big impression on me because seeing him transformed into this kind of supernatural entity, who placed so much emphasis on being depressed despite having superpowers from another plane, was something unexpected.

    5.png 6.png

As for Turbo-Granny, I loved her for her perversity and for her improvised interaction with Okarun. That first scene between them was one of the best. But the series doesn't just focus on presenting different types of relationships between the characters (which are very well developed, by the way), it goes further.

In this series, everything is relevant, and when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Let me explain. The plot is striking because, despite sounding so bizarre, it is spectacularly crafted in every aspect, from the dialogue to the fight and action scenes. The characters are full of essence, each with their own peculiarities that give them weight in the story, and their designs? They are the icing on the cake, art in motion.

    7.png 8.png
    9.png 10.png

Another aspect that I really liked about the series is the intro and ending music. They match the rhythm of the series and the opening itself. I really like it because it gives a little preview of what's to come, but in the end, the series is so crazy that it's hard to predict. You don't know if something serious and terrifying will happen or something strangely funny that will make you laugh out loud.

This series turned out to be a real gem, and I love all the artistic touches and details in each episode and scene. And although it may sound strange, it also has romantic scenes that will steal anyone's heart. I'm Team Okarun - Momo, how about you? I highly recommend it for a relaxing laugh, and I give it its well-deserved:

  12. Dandadan on Netflix: The Strange, Loud, Beautiful Side of Modern Shonen@chris-chris92341d

During the first few minutes of Dandadan I wasn’t sure if I should laugh, cringe, or just sit still and brace for whatever was coming next. That exact confusion became my anchor for the rest of the season. It is rare to see a show that refuses to explain itself in the beginning, that jumps from aliens to ghosts to psychic powers without apologizing for the whiplash. But somehow it works. The storytelling feels like a dare, as if the creators knew how much absurdity they could pack into twenty minutes and still make us care deeply for these weird broken characters.

Netflix took a calculated risk by backing a series like this. It is not the kind of show you would expect to land in a global catalog with such ease, but it did. And while the platform does not make anime its core identity, there is no denying that it helped shift the perception of Japanese animation from something limited to something magnetic and accessible. Unlike other platforms that cater to hardcore fans exclusively, Netflix casts a wider net, and with Dandadan it is clear they are willing to invest in stories that are loud messy and unmistakably local. That matters. It means this type of surreal chaos is no longer limited to obscure communities. It is right there in plain sight.

Visually Dandadan is almost too much, and I say that with admiration. The animation studio does not just create movement. It launches it into overdrive. Bodies stretch and twist, lights blur and shift, and every scene pushes the limits of the frame. Characters are exaggerated in a way that might seem grotesque, but it serves a deeper truth. The show is fully committed to its own visual language, and in the middle of that hurricane, there is a strange tenderness. Behind every explosion or exorcism, there is a glimpse of loneliness or longing, carefully folded into the madness.

I kept waiting for it to lose steam, but it never did. Each episode manages to push further without collapsing under its own weight. A big part of that is the emotional bond between Momo and Okarun. Their relationship does not rely on tired tropes. Instead, it grows through fear, embarrassment, awkwardness, and small moments of connection. They are not just reacting to the supernatural. They are trying to understand themselves. That is what makes the pacing so powerful. When the show quiets down it lands with real weight because everything else has been so loud. The extremes make the silence meaningful.

By the time I reached the season finale I was not thinking about categories anymore. It was not about genres or expectations. I was just immersed in a world that had rewritten its own rules and stuck with them. That level of commitment is rare in shows that reach this kind of visibility. Dandadan is not here to please everyone, and that is what makes it feel honest. For those of us looking for anime that dares to experiment without turning into parody, this series is a gift. It exists in contradictions. It is reckless and delicate. And it proves that even the most chaotic story can find its place right next to the mainstream, not because it fits, but because it refuses to.

Dandadan is the exact fusion of genres you thought wouldn't work well together, like horror and comedy. This series is so well crafted that not only the plot but also the animation designs and drawings themselves capture you from the first episode. Everything is perfectly synchronized to avoid overkill and make this anime different, combining boldness, irrelevance, and truly striking visual effects, which makes it a wild journey between the paranormal and the hilarious in a very enjoyable way.

    image.png

And it's definitely a series for adults, as it touches on risqué themes and jokes that aren't suitable for children. One of the aspects that most impacted me while watching it is the quality of its characters. Their design style is quite good and appealing. In fact, for me, they're as good as or better than the ones Ufotable used to create the rest of the Kimetsu No Yaiba story. This is because they blend authentic art with monochromatic scenes, where certain character designs stand out, elevating them to another level, making them epic.

On the other hand, they add touches of madness, incoherence, and great humor with scenes that will make you laugh out loud. If you want to distract your mind with something light and different, without having to dig too deep to decipher a character, this is the series you should give a try. It also has an occasional emotional touch, where the character seeks to reflect and grow internally to become stronger. This, for me, adds a sublime essence to the story, as it ultimately shows you the evolution of the characters, their emotional growth, and the maturity they reach to transform them into great people worthy of being remembered and taken as role models.

    image.png

As for the characters, I can only say that each one has something special about them, and they made me grow fond of them. Each one complements the other in their own way without realizing it, and little by little, the interpersonal relationships become greatly strengthened, as it's in the most absurd scenes that touches of empathy and understanding are shown, not to mention the romantic story that develops in the background between the protagonists. That's why I said at the beginning that this series was one of the best, because it managed to merge such complex themes in a very simple way.

    image.png

Another plus I should highlight, which made me enjoy this series so much, is that they also combine two of my favorite themes: the supernatural with UFOs and aliens. They also add well-known urban legends and some lesser-known ones, which makes it special. Overall, there are many combined aspects that keep this series' plot fresh and its battles very exciting, as its characters are forced to adapt to new and bizarre situations.

Hello, my fellow anime lovers. I strongly believe that I am now in my anime era. So please, if you come across any interesting anime that you think everyone should watch, please, do well to tag me. As usual, I came across a scene from an anime I had heard so much about; Dandadan. “I’ll let you suckle my teats, so let me gobble that weenie-” coming from a scrawny looking granny. The first thing I heard when I heard that famous line was “What the actual heck.” I was skeptical whether I would find it interesting or not, but I added it to my to watch list anyway. I have a lot of anime on my to-watch list. I just pick whichever comes to my head and proceed to download. The last anime I watched was Devil May Cry. I made a review about it, you can check it out here. After Devil May Cry, I started watching Dandadan almost immediately. I'm not even done watching it, but I just couldn't wait to tell you guys about it.

I have gotten to season one episode 9, and it is going well so far. In my opinion, Dandadan is not one of the best anime I have seen. At the same time, it is not mid. I don’t know how to describe this anime, but I guess the perfect word to describe it is “NICE.” Yes, Dandadan is nice. The story revolves around two high schoolers, Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura. Momo Ayase grew up with a spiritual grandmother, so she believes in ghosts. On the other hand, Ken Takakura believes in Aliens, not ghosts. According to him, aliens are real and ghosts are just stories told by elderly people to scare kids.  Ken and Momo both get into a heated argument over which is real. To find answers and settle the argument, they decide to test their beliefs. Ken Takakura goes to a haunted spot while Momo Ayase goes to the UFO center.

    [Source](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt30217403/mediaviewer/rm2095553538/?ref_=ttmi_mi_1)

Interestingly, Ken is chased by a ghost (TURBO GRANNY) who possesses him and steals his weenie (this part had me rolling.) Momo is also almost kidnapped by aliens. In the midst of struggling with the aliens, Momo discovers that she has psychic powers. Before Ken met Momo, he didn’t have friends. Picture the kind of student that is obsessed with knowing about aliens. Who would want to be friends with an alien-freak, right? However, to recover Ken’s weenie and break Granny Turbo’s curse, they both start working together.

    [Source](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt30217403/mediaviewer/rm2464923394/?ref_=ttmi_mi_31)

One thing I absolutely love about this anime is that it is loaded with many comedic scenes. Dandadan perfectly blends action and comedy. I love the fact that Momo Ayase’s grandmother is young, beautiful, funny and more importantly, she is crazy. There was a part where Ken and Momo finally defeated Turbo Granny and retrieved Ken’s weenie, only for him to find out that his balls were missing the next day. Like, how do you not know that your balls are missing for a whole day?😂😂 That part got me rolling. I am not done with the anime yet, but I’m looking forward to the romance that will happen between Ken and Momo.

Have you watched Dandadan? What is your take on it?

    Thanks for reading.

    An epic comeback in Dandadan.png

    0S-removebg-preview.png

Hello, hello, beautiful people of The Anime Realm! I hope you are all doing great today. Here I am again with you, and this time I'm super excited because I finally got to watch the first episode of the second season of Dandadan, an anime that I simply love. I'll confess something: I had been waiting for new episodes to come out for a while, but I had also neglected it a little because I hadn't renewed Netflix (which is where I'm watching it). But as soon as I activated it and saw that there was a new episode, I didn't think twice! I immediately called my son Abraham, who was the one who recommended this anime to me from the beginning. He and I watch it together; it's like our little corner to share together, one of many. So when I told him there was a new episode, he was as excited as I was. We got ready quickly and sat down to watch the first episode of this new season, called “The Legend of the Giant Snake,” and let me tell you... what a tremendous start! From the very first minute, you can feel that crazy, captivating energy that Dandadan has. Momo and Okarun return with all their charisma, their strange but beautiful connection, and that natural way of making us laugh, scare us, and excite us at the same time. But this time, the main character of the episode is a giant snake surrounded by legends and mystery... and yes, also a lot of spiritual power that can be felt in every scene.

¡Hola, hola gente bonita The Anime Realm!

What I love about this anime is how it blends the paranormal with everyday life. One moment you're watching a funny scene, and before you know it, you're in the middle of a suspenseful or action-packed moment. Everything flows naturally, and that makes it super special. The legend of the snake, for example, feels like one of those stories they used to tell you when you were little to scare you... but here it comes to life, and what a way to do it! The animation is brutal. Every movement, every expression, every visual effect draws you into the story. Okarun and Momo are emotionally stronger; you can tell that they are no longer just fighting to survive, but because they have each other. And that, my loves, touches my heart. We've also seen the second episode (which, by the way, is great), but I'll leave that for the next review. For now, I can tell you that this first episode had me glued to the screen, eager for more. This new season comes on strong, with surprises, and above all, with that mix of emotion and madness that we love so much about Dandadan. Well, my dears, that's it for this little review. Thank you for always reading, for joining me in this corner where I share what I like and what I enjoy with my son. Don't forget to leave me your comments if you've already seen the episode or if you have it on your list! See you in the next post with more anime, more excitement, and more of this world that connects us so much! I love you all so much. May God bless you greatly.

  16. Anime Review: Dandadan~A wild ride through the supernatural and self@seunruth359d

    Where are my anime lovers?

I came onto Dandadan out of curiosity—curious about the hype, the genre mashup, and the high praise from fans. The trailer teased a wild mix: ghosts, aliens, teens in over-the-top supernatural chaos. That peek was enough to pull me to Crunchyroll, where I braced for something absurd—and yep, it delivered.

Momo Ayase does not believe in aliens but believes in ghosts and psychic abilities. Ken Takakura Okarun believes in aliens and makes fun of ghosts. These two misfits go out to investigate haunting and UFO hotspots together and things get strange, quick. Imagine alien probes, the shape of bananas, ghost spirit possession capers, then add in screaming action, adolescent angst and embarrassment and a languid romance that passes unnoticed under the mayhem.

Momo battles the horny ghosts; Ken battles the vanishing anatomy; both learn to depend on each other in weird, funny, and endearing situations such as desperately trying to avoid peeing in front of each other in the middle of possession

The first episode was disquieting; even disturbing, with alien bizarreness and lack of consent. However, when Momo destroys the extraterrestrial danger, I understood: this show is not glorifying shock, it is reflecting the fear of teens and physical insecurities disguised as supernatural allegory.

The horror became less graphic and more meta and comedic as the series went along. Teenage needs such as the need to relieve oneself became an evil on par with ghosts and aliens. I cringed and laughed with him during a scene when Ken gets nearly ready to urinate in front of Momo in order to keep his curse at bay. It became clear that the world of teenage shame was more comprehensible than the world of the battle in epic fantasy.

The emotional beats were good despite the boundary-pushing visuals. Gradually, the quarrelling of Momo and Okarun turned into trust, friendship, and sincere concern. Their bumbling, natural progression became the pulse through the non-sense. And it is true that the show is paced like crazy, you do not even have time to recover after one shock before it shocks you again with a twist that will melt your brain.

The animation by Science Saru is strong at providing surreal horror and action-packed panoramas, loopy camera angles, gritty texture, and nimble characters. Its aesthetic style is as exuberant as its storytelling: all the ghost battles are shuddering with action and horror.

The opening theme, titled Otonoke by Creepy Nuts, is a certified banger, having won Best Opening Sequence at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

It is also a very introspective film. I almost lost it in the first episode but recovered to find out that senior high traumas take many forms: alien, ghostly, or all too humanly embarrassing.

The chemistry and emotional connection are drooled over by fans of the series on Reddit:

“Momo and Okarun, chemistry I do not find even in other romance-oriented stories

Essentially it covers every type of genre…and it takes me through every single emotion of a human being”

It seems so well deserved: a show people experience, that causes people to laugh, to be hopeful, to be scared, to blush, to shiver (like the Dover Demon ghost).

Although there is massive acclaim, there are critics who believe it is overdoing fanservice or lowbrow shocks. Critics say some scenes are overfilled with horniness, and the pace is overstuffed. The same goes in the alien sex humor, which does not suit everyone.

With that out of the way, the anime manages to salvage the earlier cringiness with raw earnestness and shifts in tone that actually count.

Dandadan felt like a rollercoaster that I watched blindfolded: it was unexpected, uncomfortable, and tiring. I flinched as Ken almost urinated- and giggled as Momo set alien banana probes on fire.

Even more so, I experienced their adolescent anxiety: am I normal? Do I have a weird factor? Am I sufficient? Those were simpler questions than any battle.

Their developing bond- the bond between two children who would rather die than appear strange in the eyes of the other- struck me right to the heart. It was not mere action with romance but it was anxious hope.

This performance triggered a memory of the vulnerability of our teenage years--the fear, the shame, the electric charge of a glance.

Although I still don't consider myself a hardcore anime fan, I find it very curious to see how I used to consume very little if not almost nothing of this genre and today there are several series and movies that I have seen. I still think I prefer movies over series because the plot advancement is obviously much faster, efficient and without fillers, but if the series in question has few episodes I do not see why I can not give it a chance, that's how I came across Dan Da Dan which recently released its second season, and although at first I did not know how to react to so much information that seemed bizarre 😝, then I understood its depth.

    Overview/Resumen

Momo and Okarum are two high school students with different personalities and beliefs, Momo is outgoing and with an explosive personality, while Okarum is rather shy. She fervently believes in ghosts and yokais while he only believes in aliens. Each is convinced that what the other believes is nonsense, so at some point Momo proposes an interesting challenge: she had to visit an abandoned building where supposedly there were sightings of UFOs and aliens, while Okarum had to visit an abandoned tunnel that according to the internet was inhabited by paranormal entities, the goal was to prove to each other that there were no such things, but the thing is that Momo ends up abducted by some aliens and Okarum ended up cursed by a yokai, a strange old woman who from one moment to another snatched his penis, yes, just as you read it 😄 it was very strange but the old pervert just wanted to keep that part of the body of poor Okarum, and as long as he keeps it he will be linked to her through a curse, so she can possess him from time to time giving him special abilities. Momo discovers that she has psychic powers that she can use to contain Okarum's powers, so the two of them will have to learn to work together if they want to be victorious in their fight against the forces outside the earth.

    My Opinion/Mi Opinión

I swear when I saw the first episode I said to myself "What happened here? " i thought the script writers had ingested hallucinogenic mushrooms when they wrote the episode, well, or maybe the mangaka had, since the manga was written first obviously 😄 what happens is that i felt it was too many unconnected ideas, like it didn't make much sense that a yokai wanted to steal someone's penis, and that the aliens wanted the same thing, but then I understood that that's the least of it, since the interesting point in the story is the way Momo and Okarum complement each other to achieve a goal, they are two different people, with different beliefs that at some point can combine their newly acquired or discovered abilities to fight evil, and it's ironic that it was the villains themselves who have somehow propitiated those powers.

    image.png

Both characters are deeper than it seems, for example Okarum is shy, reserved and apparently cowardly, but in the most critical points of danger he shows a tremendous inner strength, especially when it comes to defending Momo, he can't stand the idea of someone hurting her, He is also sincere, he defends his beliefs and convictions, as well as he believes in dialogue, for him it is better to solve situations by talking, so he decides to face Momo at the beginning and talk to her about the hypotheses that appeared in her magazine, trying to convince her about it. On the other hand we also realize that Momo has grown up with some emotional deficiencies because of the death of her parents, but she recognizes that her grandmother has been a great impulse and a reason for admiration, even though at the beginning she was ashamed of the fact that her grandmother made her recite protection spells, since she was a medium and believed in ghosts (from there comes Momo's strong belief) that is why she discovers that she also has powers and that she can work to perfect them. It is no coincidence that the two young people met, they both needed each other in order to fight evil.

Therefore, the anime has a good character development, because this comes from the experience that each one acquires on their own and the trust they can place in each other, which makes them get to know each other and get closer.

As for the fights with the enemies, they may seem bizarre, seriously, it's what I said at the beginning, it seems to make no sense, but always Momo and Okarum use the environment and ingenuity to defeat them, for example in the second chapter of the first season, both face a giant alien with sumo skills, which seems to be possessed in turn by a yokai 😂, something super crazy, right? however both characters, realizing that this being is nothing more than the result of the beliefs of both, decide to put their knowledge into practice, using logic and wit, also realizing that a melee combat was not the best option, and so it happens in all combats, both characters first study their situation, as well as the enemy they are facing, then evaluate their chances and finally act. The objective is to demonstrate that it is possible to defeat stronger enemies because it is a matter of trying to discover their weak point in order to elaborate a strategy accordingly.

Anyway, I think this anime is worth giving it a chance, plus it doesn't have too many chapters and they are not too long, that's what I like the most. For now I have only watched the first season but I will start watching the second one. Thanks for reading my review, I hope you liked it and I hope you give me your opinion about the anime 😉.

This story is a shōnen where we meet Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura ("Okarun"), two high school students who meet almost by chance. In Momo's case, she believes in ghosts and is deeply interested in all the supernatural stuff, especially due to the influence of her grandmother, a renowned medium. Okarun, on the other hand, believes in aliens and is completely obsessed with the subject.

The thing is, neither believes what the other believes, and to prove who is right, they challenge each other. Momo visits a place famous for alleged alien sightings, and Okarun goes to a supposedly haunted tunnel. It turns out that in their attempt to prove the other wrong, they discover that they were both right, and from then on, their lives become somewhat strange but exciting.

This anime is genuinely fun. I think the premise is unique, or at least I haven't seen anything like it until now. Of course, like any good anime, they stretch the plot to the limit, almost bordering on the absurd, but since it's a comedy, those exaggerated situations really make you laugh a lot. It's obviously absurd humor, but when you mix it with a bit of dark humor, the jokes are truly funny.

Plus, the typical shōnen action means something is constantly happening; there are no filler episodes; everyone contributes something to the story, and it's quite easy to watch. You don't realize the episode is almost over until the credits roll almost suddenly.

Although at one point I saw a video where someone commented that this anime was "a romantic comedy masked as shōnen", and I think they were absolutely right.

Momo and Okarun have a rather cliché love story. The nerd meets the pretty, daring girl, who, for some almost magical reason, have a lot in common and see something special in each other. I have nothing against these kinds of stories, but at first glance, they certainly present it as a typical shōnen, when it isn't; the core of it is the romance. This is very innocent and fun, and the two actually complement each other quite well, making it a beautiful love story to watch.

The added bonus is the comedy and, of course, the supernatural aspect. The fact that they were both right in what they believed, that they discover it together, and that they experience absolutely incredible things is what makes it interesting and entertaining.

The jokes, characters, situations, and the story itself in general seem creative and bizarre to me. I think one thing that surprised me is that while it's not overly explicit, it's not that subtle either, making its dark humor and the strange situations the characters face clear. I think that was what made me laugh the most, the weirdness of it all makes you think "what the hell am I watching?" and I don't have an answer to that question 😅, but for me it's not necessary.

It's a rare creativity that mixes the supernatural, comedy, and romance, and it works.

All the characters are well-crafted, and something I liked is that despite the simple story and the characters' purposes, they aren't basic, not at all simple. They have more depth than just being funny or creating contrast; there are real motivations behind each personality, and we get a deeper look into their interests, something that is often overlooked in comedies because they consider that because it's simple, there's no need to delve too deeply into anything. That's a mistake Dandadan doesn't make.

Aside from that, I think the animation is beautiful, with an almost sketch-like style that looks interesting; at least it's different from the usual, and it fits very well with the different style of the story. This is complemented by the soundtrack, especially the opening, which perfectly captures the essence of the anime. Energetic and fun.

So if you want to watch something energetic, exciting, funny, and absurdly weird, this is the anime for you. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes these kinds of stories.

What are you waiting for? And if you've already seen it, what did you think about it?

  19. Dan Da Dan Season 2 Trailer has been released!@youloseagain434d

    untitled.gif

Evening folks, tonight I'm here to share the trailer for Dan Da Dan season 2.

Crunchyroll's trailer seems pretty chill and fairly relaxed. The soundtrack is freaking awesome though!

Next up we have Netflix's trailer, which is a hell of a lot more exciting. This series looks like it's full of some good looking action scenes. A new baddy thrown into the mix that looks like an interesting fellow for sure.

    untitled.gif

I couldn't leave out the Golden ball from the first series 😅

    untitled.gif

If this series has an epic song like Otonoke by Creepy Nuts, then I'm really all up for this series!

Season 2 is hitting Netflix on July 3rd, so not long at all to wait which is epic!

Yes friends, I just finished watching this anime after 5 months of procrastinating since it premiered in October last year. Everything I had seen of this had been reviews on here, things on social networks and the truth was hard to assimilate the impact it had had on the fan because it was and is very big, fortunately I understood it yesterday when I saw chapter 12 of the first season. It had been a long time since I had seen an anime so complete in the sense that it has everything: comedy, bad words, really funny situations, spectacular animation, good action, better suspense and terror, the design of the characters, especially the aliens and spirits which are really scary; it is a mixture of many things that make it the phenomenon that it is.

I don't know if there is anyone who hasn't seen Dan Da Dan yet, so I'll explain a little of what it's about. It's about two students, Okarun and Momo Ayase, who are very different, he is the introvert who has no friends and finds it hard to relate; she is the popular one although often not for the best reasons. The thing is that they both share something, their taste for the “paranormal”. Okarun is obsessed with UFOs and aliens while Ayase is obsessed with ghosts and spirits because his family (his grandmother) is involved in that world. With the day to day life at school and all that is lived there, they will discover each other.

Once they meet, their world changes 180 degrees and inexplicable things begin to appear in their lives that will mean for them really dangerous and terrifying threats. One day a hidden power awakens in her and he, as a result of a curse, also gets a kind of evil power. From here on the two will have to deal with aliens with quite particular tastes given their curiosity towards humans at the same time with different spirits or entities that are emerging from nowhere. When you read this you might think that the plot can be dense and at times it is, as I said it is a strange combination between the dark and the silly.

The plot is cool because it touches on many topics within the good “disaster” that is in between. Personal validation, self-esteem, family relationships, what it means to be a teenager full of doubts, friendship; an endless number of things that, although it may not seem like it, give a lot of depth to the story. What is really valuable in Dandadan for me are the interactions that take place and the way they are expressed, not that I am in favor of bad words or insults but I find the dialogues pure gold, they are love/hate relationships which are very common in the lives of all of us and to see them in the anime in such a natural way I think is the best of all.

The animation is eccentric, very fast, very saturated which makes it very addictive to watch. Here there is also a combination because they use these highly expressive forms of animation that are seen in anime when it comes to expressing some emotion or feeling with the seriousness of the action scenes that are super fluid; nothing to envy to any high caliber anime. The design of the characters is another hook, the Turbo Ruca, the face of the 3 aliens, everything can be very sinister but at the same time funny, I know it's complicated to explain but that's how it is. As is almost always the case, there is also a dose of sexual double entendre, a scene or two where the angles are very suggestive; nothing strange and in the end this helps the plot a lot.

Okarun is the friend that everyone would like to have and Ayase too but you have to love her a little more; in the end they are a couple of teenagers who have to deal with things that perhaps go a little beyond what their maturity allows them to assimilate. Watching when they are together and the scenes of jealousy and insults that ensue is really comical. Dan Da Dan is a great anime, one of the best of last year and I hope the second season in July will be of the same level. I was really surprised, I didn't think I was going to like it so much. Recommended 300% to anyone who hasn't seen it.

  22. Dandadan: the anime that perfectly blends action, comedy and romance@mig1466d

    dada.jpg

Hello, Hive friends! I've been a bit MIA these past few months because I've been busy with college stuff. You know, things like submitting my thesis or working at my state governorship for internship matters. But now that I have some free time, I can tell you about some of the anime I've been watching these days.

Obviously, I decided to go for the most popular because I wanted to watch something really good, so clearly there was no better option than Dandadan, an anime that deals with aliens and spirits, with excellent animation by Science Saru, a studio known for works like Devilman Crybaby or Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.

Before I go any further, I must confess that I liked it so much that I couldn't wait for the second season and ended up reading the manga. Too many crazy things happen in too short a time! That makes both the manga and the anime very entertaining.

The story follows Momo Ayase and “Okarun”. Momo is a girl who fervently believes in ghosts but strongly denies the existence of aliens, while Okarun is a boy who believes in aliens but considers spirits absurd. One day, at school, they meet and a strange friendship arises after challenging each other to prove the existence of what each denies. This leads Momo to meet aliens and Okarun to encounter a spirit that puts a curse on him... by removing his testicles!

The plot revolves around Okarun and Momo's quest to get “their balls” back, facing supernatural beings and aliens. This makes the anime an explosive combination of comedy, action and romance.

    <img src="https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/dandadan/images/e/e0/Okarun%27s_Turbo_Granny_speed_%28Anime%29.gif/revision/latest?cb=20241011015206 https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/mig1/23u5tRiJtZ4WHdR3dbNi9UpqCWMX1EWtcXiRaYw546VfnmffsiTMuD4Mons6pXCUaEG2d.gif" />

One of the aspects that fascinates me (and I think everyone) is the relationship between Okarun and Momo. It's one of the best romances we can currently see in anime: they look perfect together, and every interaction, every gesture of mutual protection, overflows chemistry all over the place.

Although the anime doesn't focus only on them, there are also characters like Aira, who I honestly don't like very much (sometimes she's quite conceited), and Jiji, who at first seems a bit silly, but then wins you over after analyzing his attitude. There are other secondary characters, but for now they don't have so much relevance (although that could change).

    <img src="https://i.pinimg.com/originals/27/68/3d/27683d1af96a7e40287ef724ab84d9e2.gif https://i.pinimg.com/originals/e6/80/7b/e6807ba029e0071aed3c60ef18b0d365.gif" />

The second season promises to be crazy! Everything that's coming is amazing, and the arc that follows is even more mind-blowing (it reminded me a bit of Gantz Invasion, but I don't want to spoil). I just hope they keep up the quality of the first season, especially the direction. Just watching the ballerina episode is enough to notice the excellent work (although I must admit that there were parts that confused me, but maybe it was just me).

If the animation continues like this, we will have an anime that will stay in the popularity rankings for a long time. So, if you are looking for something entertaining, with a charming romance and spectacular fights, Dandadan is an excellent choice.

    dada.jpg

    <img src="https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/dandadan/images/e/e0/Okarun%27s_Turbo_Granny_speed_%28Anime%29.gif/revision/latest?cb=20241011015206 https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/mig1/23u5tRiJtZ4WHdR3dbNi9UpqCWMX1EWtcXiRaYw546VfnmffsiTMuD4Mons6pXCUaEG2d.gif" />

    <img src="https://i.pinimg.com/originals/27/68/3d/27683d1af96a7e40287ef724ab84d9e2.gif https://i.pinimg.com/originals/e6/80/7b/e6807ba029e0071aed3c60ef18b0d365.gif" />

Hello anime fans. Tonight I come to talk to you about one of the best anime that I have had the honor of watching on air last year and that managed to successfully position itself among my favorites. That's right, this is the same anime that many of you have surely already seen, read, listened to and even talked about recently. Loved by many and hated by a few, this anime is one of the supposed "Promises of Shōnen". A work with great potential to be more than just a story of two high school kids with supernatural or otherworldly problems. Based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu, this animated adaptation was produced by the Science Saru studio. If you haven't seen it yet, I invite you to get to know one of the best anime about young people, ghosts and aliens that exist today.

    Plot

The anime begins by introducing us to Momo Ayase, a high school girl who falls madly in love with boys who physically resemble her favorite action movie actor, Ken Takakura. One day, she breaks up with her last partner, who cheated on her and is a jerk, like most of the guys she's dated. Hurt and saddened by the breakup, she approaches a classroom where she sees a boy with glasses who is teasing her by throwing paper balls at her while she tries to read. She approaches him, sitting down across from him to ward off those who are teasing him. Ignoring their reaction, he approaches her right after he goes to his classroom to show her what he was reading. The boy is a fan of things related to UFOs and aliens. She gets annoyed at how annoying and insistent he is and teases him by telling him that aliens don't exist, that she believes in ghosts or "spirits" (Yokais). He mocks her because he believes that such things do not exist and so the two argue and make a bet to show who is right and each goes to a place in the city where supposedly ghosts (in the case of the boy with glasses) and aliens (in the case of Momo) appear. To everyone's surprise and their misfortune, they are both right.

    SPANISH VERSION

    Trama

    Trailer & Review

Next, I will leave you the trailer of the anime:

    By: Crunchyroll

    hello@reallygreatsite.com_20240825_182859_0000 (1).png

Before I start, I want to mention something first. I know there are many who have talked about this anime in this community (as well as all over the internet), but since I haven't given my opinion about this anime since its airing, I took the time to talk about it now without anything that bothers me -like the fact that talking just being on air or just finishing with the "HYPE" of the moment and saying something I later regret or am wrong about this anime-. Let's keep in mind that we are talking about an anime that came to have such a popularity and success that, even with the issue of leaks and everything that happened with Netflix in the middle of last year did not cause the impact it came to have to be reduced at any time. While there were many people who praised this work from start to finish, there were a few who wrote it off for various reasons that are even understandable. However, what I think about this anime today and with a calmer mind is that it served very well to attract the attention of a huge audience, especially young people to a world as big as anime.

Dan Da Dan as a product has achieved something that every anime of any kind wants to achieve: to be on everyone's lips. And this success is thanks not only to the incredible production work that the Science Saru studio had along with Netflix as the main promoter and marketer, but also for the story on which it was based being an excellent adaptation, the truth. And is that, although the theme of young people fighting against ghosts and aliens is something striking in itself, the creator managed to make his work something that stands out even of its own kind, turning a supposed supernatural action anime into a romantic comedy for teenagers. This, truth be told, is the key point of this work since by introducing us to a young couple as protagonists who meet and begin to treat each other after going through a series of not pleasant events for both, we can see how this relationship is born and develops in such an innocent and at the same time funny way for any teenager or young person who watches it. In short, it is as many have said on the internet about it: Dandadan is a RomCom disguised as action.

Let's start talking about the story they try to tell us in this anime, which from the beginning is funny how the main characters meet each other after arguing about who is right. On one side we have Momo Ayase, a popular high school girl who likes tough guys and with a physical resemblance to her favorite actor. Although her greatest attribute would be her faithful belief towards spirits, having as an example her grandmother who is a famous spiritualist who raised her since she was a little girl. On the other hand we have Ken Takakura, or better known by Momo as Okarun, a shy boy of the same age who is a fan of UFOs or aliens. Both of them, on that night after arguing at school, test each other to see who is right by going to a popular place where, on the one hand a powerful ghost (Yokai) appears, but on the other hand there have been sightings of aliens. Leaving aside that both were right, they try to flee for their lives only to be captured by these supernatural and extraterrestrial entities. But, although they manage to escape from this bad time by a miracle, it will not be the only time they will have this kind of contact.

I will tell you right now that, no matter what anyone says, I am fascinated by this way of sharing the protagonist of this story in a couple of young people who differ in many aspects. Watching these two (Momo and Okarun) get to know and relate to each other while facing supernatural and extraterrestrial entities that seek to take something "precious" from them is one of the most entertaining things this anime has to offer. And the fact is that we see two different sides of the same story, a relationship that we can easily feel familiar with each other's way of being or acting and, to make matters worse, a world where spirits and aliens exist and constantly fight for power and dominance. And while this story has its common clichés of all Shōnen at the beginning as it is the fanservice theme or the double meaning jokes and awkward moments that are never missing in any generic RomCom; we must admit that details such as Okarun's curse, Momo's supernatural powers and the consequences behind every action or result that this pair of young people do or have at the end of each chapter gives a special touch to this anime and its story.

But, although it is a romantic comedy disguised as an action drama with aliens and ghosts, this anime manages to capture the attention of any young person thanks to the way it presents and develops its main and secondary characters. Although there are details to be emphasized, such as the speed of the story with the events that occur in each chapter, being this something that many may like for not being an anime with a slow story -as is the case of many other anime-; the truth is that it detracts impact or emotion in certain moments where drama or suspense try to stand out among so many events, jokes or awkward moments. But, when they manage to do this, we can enjoy episodes that are, practically, a masterpiece. And it is these details that make this anime more interesting than just a RomCom fused with a ghost story and a science fiction work. Here, each character and story that they try to tell us manages to make an impact because of how well done they are. Moreover, as for the ghosts and yokais we see in the anime, it seems that even some of them have their origin or history in real life (being something common in a country rich in ghost stories as Japan is).

As I mentioned above, yes, this anime has fanservice, something that abounds in certain moments from the first episode. But, unlike other anime that always seek to draw attention with still or moving shots of this style, this anime at least tries to justify the fanservice it has with a somewhat absurd plot, the truth (to give you an idea, Okarun's curse is related to a ghost snatching his private parts, while on the other hand Momo is pursued by aliens who have no other way to reproduce than with certain women on planet earth). Yes, sometimes I question the ingenuity of some of today's mangakas to make stories of this type, but it is clear that the goal of the creator of Dandadan was to reach a young audience with a particular type of humor and tastes. Sure, this black humor that we see in this anime not everyone likes and I completely understand it, but we have to accept that apparently it is humor and fanservice that sells the most in this industry. Honestly, as long as it doesn't directly affect the way the story and its characters are developed, they can do whatever they want, but that it looks good at the end, things that so far I see that this work is fulfilling very well.

Last but not least, let's talk about the technical side of this anime. Being a studio that I've just come to know with this anime, Science Saru seems to have everything it takes to offer us pure masterpieces. And this is what we see in Dandadan by having a very high level of quality, a very striking drawing style and character design, as well as a fluidity that is very enjoyable to watch. With firm strokes and a unique design, this anime has a very varied palette of vivid colors, with very well constructed compositions and planes along with very well added lights and shadows. By using a nearly full 2D animation style, it is particularly enjoyable to see such quality from start to finish. But where it all comes to the forefront is in those key scenes of encounters, battles or chases. There, details such as the sound effects or the soundtrack that the anime has stand out along with everything previously mentioned, offering us sequences that are impossible to forget. And speaking of soundtrack, both its Opening and Ending are among the best I have ever heard in my life. In short, this is a perfect anime for every young lover of ghosts, aliens and romantic comedies.

Personally, I give it a well-deserved 10/10 rating for the sci-fi, supernatural, romantic comedy and action genre.

Hello everyone, dear community of The Anime Realm... I hope everyone is doing great, this time I want to share with all of you my review with my opinions of the most popular anime of the year, yes it is... today I will talk about Dandadan...and as usual, I usually join the trends a little late, but I wanted to wait for the hype of this anime to pass to talk from a more subjective and logical position.. and not just let myself be influenced... well, if you haven't seen it, this is an anime that I could describe as total madness. I mean, we're talking about aliens that want your genitals very badly, yes, you read that right... It's complete madness.. and that's just the tip of the iceberg, the story revolves around Okarun, a rather shy guy, with glasses, who is obsessed with aliens, and Momo a very brave girl, who faces almost all of her problems head on and bluntly.. she is a person who believes in ghosts because of a certain relationship she has with her grandmother, and thinks aliens are nonsense, just like Okarun thinks ghosts don't exist.. the two end up betting to prove the other wrong, exploring unique places where they will discover that yes there is much more than they expected or know..
It's funny how things get out of control so fast...before you know it, these two end up in a disaster related to a ghost named Turbo Granny, and to top it all off, Momo ends up abducted by some aliens...it's all as absurd as it sounds, but at the same time it's amazing. One of the things that really grabbed me at first was how this anime throws this whole chaotic mix of ghosts, aliens and teenage stumbles at you.. it's like someone combined Bleach, Mob Psycho 100 and a unique and hilarious romantic comedy, and then you get a show that certainly seems to succeed in every aspect, it's crazy how this absurd plot ends up working in a great way. The premise is so crazy that you definitely can't help but keep watching... it's interesting to imagine what ridiculous things they will continue with in the next chapter, I think it's a pretty fresh anime and it's very different from all the typical shonen... I think that's just why it becomes so popular, it's something really extroverted that can captivate even those who aren't intense anime fans.

Talking a bit more about the characters, I would like to talk about Turbo Granny, she is a really funny yet scary character... imagine your worst nightmare and put her in a mix with an eccentric, funny, nasty personality, and a strange fixation for body genitalia, she is creepy yet strangely funny, and this only at the beginning of the series... then she becomes a much calmer character, but just as charming. Each episode presents us with a new bizarre situation.. it's, from ghosts obsessed with people, aliens in the form of crabs attacking the school, among many other things.. everything is so unpredictable and chaotic that you just get totally caught up in all the crazy sequences, and inevitably you end up rooting for our protagonist couple to get out of the tremendous trouble they keep getting into.
In this series there is no set power system, which I actually love because it keeps the fighting super dynamic and creative, you never know how the characters are going to overcome their enemies, and the animation during these fight scenes are great... I love how everything becomes chaotic and absolutely mesmerizing, it's amazing when they slowly learn about their abilities and the way they can control it. . it makes the confrontations feel real, as we see constant trial and error until finally the strategy works out and everything ends up working out.. it's not just about action or supernatural elements, at its core it's also a unique sort of romantic comedy.. the relationship between Okarun and Momo is what really makes the show shine.
These two are a fantastic duo, Okarun starts off as this super shy guy full of self-doubt, but you slowly see him grow and gain confidence throughout the series.. and Momo is a total badass.. a super confident and strong girl, but also with her own insecurities and vulnerabilities.. their dynamic is super funny and yet touching at the same time. They give us just the right amount of romantic tension to keep us hooked, one of my favorite things about their relationship is how genuine it feels.. there are moments when they really don't know how to interact and you feel all that shyness and embarrassment of teenage relationships.. as the episodes go on, they learn to value and hold each other in high regard.... Even when outside characters join their team, the dynamic between these two is still very emotional and it's super fun to watch them interact with each other.. and see how they learn to support and trust each other.

The supporting cast is also top notch... Momo's grandmother Saiko is a character I loved, she's a powerful exorcist who is wise and extremely funny, she adds a lot of depth to the story.. plus, her dynamic with Momo gives you an idea of why she is the way she is, I also loved the inclusion of characters like Aira and Jiji... they are there in a slightly illogical way, but they feel fresh and bring their own thing to this weird team.. although the way they are included in the lives of our protagonists is not entirely believable, I don't feel like they are there just to fill a space... I feel like they each bring something unique, whether it's comic relief, emotional depth when needed, or just a lot more chaos and fun.
And obviously I can't forget the music.. the opening is a total hit in every way.. it was a complete hit that became a trend quickly, it's easy for it to stick in your mind for a long time.. the soundtrack in general does a great job of enhancing the mood.. whether it's a high-energy fight scene or a quieter, more emotional moment, it knows exactly when to explode.. it's one of those rare cases where the music feels like an important part of the whole experience, and it's not just background noise. Now, I must admit I had my doubts at first.. the premise sounded so out there that I wasn't sure if this was going to pan out, but by the end of the first episode I was super hooked.. also as the series progressed I found myself laughing at many funny scenes related to Okaru trying to learn about his new powers, I think it all ends up working, even if it is super eccentric.. the way they all start combining their abilities to overcome obstacles I thought was excellent.
Although it has its good points, I don't consider it perfect, there are moments where the pacing seems odd, the plot feels stagnant, and some of the humor didn't make me laugh at times, don't get me wrong, the anime is very funny, but the need to constantly spout constant jokes and absurd situations can feel oversaturated at times.. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, that's all. But overall I think it's very well done and I do think it deserves the recognition it's been getting.

I give this anime a strong 9/10 rating, it's funny, it has absurd moments that work surprisingly well, and antagonists that are ridiculous yet charming.. it's a pretty weird feeling that you can't help but get super hooked on.. it also especially knows when to be touching and emotional when it needs to be, there's a chapter that can definitely pull at your heart strings, and others that can make you smile and blush like an idiot, especially in the somewhat romantic moments between Okarun and Momon.. they're interactions that feel genuine and full of personal growth. It's a series that has a strange mix of genres that surprisingly works, and it's not afraid to be unique or defy expectations, it's an anime that will no doubt appeal to many people, and if you're already a veteran in this anime world, you can tell that it feels fresh, and doesn't feel like an extension of a premise that doesn't know how far it will go.. it's unpredictable, but that really doesn't have to be bad, it manages to be ridiculously entertaining, and will surely continue to shine brighter and brighter.
I'm anxious to see how the second half of this season plays out, and I hope to see a lot more presence from Momo's grandmother and the other supporting characters.. one thing I didn't entirely like now that I look back on it, is the abrupt way it closed this first half of episodes.. it felt a bit anticlimactic, but well, considering that the other part will arrive this same year, it's good to know that the wait won't be long, but I still feel that it wasn't a good decision to divide the episodes in such a short way... it would have been better to have an extra episode to leave the series with some kind of cliffhanger or something like that, but I think it's just my specific taste, I don't think it would have been a major problem for the rest of the viewers. And well, this would be my review, I hope you liked it, and I'll see you in the next ones... I'll leave you the amazing opening below in case you haven't seen it... see you in the next reviews, take care, bye bye.

  25. Anime Review After Recommendation: Dandadan@fashtioluwa509d

I was going through the anime community a few months ago when I stumbled upon a review by one of the anime lovers. Sadly, I have forgotten his username and I don't want to go through the stress of searching through all my comments from months ago to find him. He did a review on the anime "Dandadan." What made me add it to my playlist was how funny he wrote the review.

    image.png

I love what he wrote in his review, but the anime was more than what he wrote in his review. The storyline was exactly as he said it but this anime should be rated 18+ because of some content that was in it. The anime gives up this kind of kids kind of anime from the first episode but it is more than that because some scenes contain hard to explain to kids kind of scenes.

One interesting thing about this anime is how it points to the fact that we do not live in this world alone and there are spiritual or supernatural beings living in this world with us. It did not just stop there; it talks about the fact that some aliens (people that are not from this world) might be hiding amongst us.

The journey of Ken and Momo in a world where they used to believe in casually became a reality. One thing Dandadan pointed out is that if you mess with the unknown, there are bound to be consequences.

image.png Now don't let me get too serious about this anime. The same way there are some serious details in this anime, its also the same way the anime is packed with comedy. One thing I can assure you is that, if you watch this anime, you will definitely be laughing hard in each episode. I started with the first episode, then binge-watched it till the 10th episode. There are funny moments and the way the writer used comics to pass some message would make people not get the true message he was talking about.

    image.png

    image.png

The art and the animation are top-notch, and the fighting scenes are also incredible. I love that we can be laughing at a moment and get serious in the next. The use of words and the story behind each villain they fought also made the anime interesting.

One thing people might not like about Dandadan is the use of colors and lighting. The animators use so many colors, especially when there is a transformation and some people might not like this. There are also so many lights popping out from one place to another during the fight scene but for the rest, the anime is incredibly interesting.

Would I recommend this anime for you? The answer is yes. If you haven't watched "Dandadan," you should watch it because it is one of the 2024 most interesting anime. With just 12 episodes, you are done, and it has a good rating all over. So give it a try like I did.

    Thanks for reading. Image source 1 2 3 4

Dan Da Dan is an anime series that tells us about paranormal events, the search for different friendships, and many, many strange occurrences. The plot centers on two schoolmates, Okarun and Momo, who hold different beliefs about the supernatural. Okarun has a great passion for UFOs and aliens basically, while Momo, thanks to the influence of his medium grandmother, affirms and defends the existence of fantasies. To prove who is right, the two embark on a journey where each seeks to prove what he does not believe, Momo looking for UFOs and Okarun looking for ghosts, in order to prove to the other that their beliefs are not true. Thus exploring quite risky places where okarun acquires a terrible curse.

I started watching this series because of the music they had, since I had heard it on social networks. I literally finished the series 2 hours ago, and I can safely say that I really enjoyed it and that it is worth it. The chapters are quite short, not exceeding 30 minutes per chapter, so if you don't have time, this anime is perfect for you.

There were many things that I loved and hated about this series, what I must say is that there were many more things that I liked, that's why I came today to comment on it. At first glance, this series may seem absurd, silly, or even not very serious, but really, if you get to see the series, you notice that it is not so. The series touches on incredibly deep themes, from the laughs to the absurdities, which makes the series much more watchable.

What I enjoy most about this series is its ability to amaze you with each episode. You can never anticipate what kind of enemy or what problem the characters are going to face this time, because although some chapters are continuations, others certainly are not. The battles the characters have against the supernatural are simply epic and successful, which left me in awe of the series. The series manages to keep that ideal balance between the humorous and the exciting, which makes it so captivating.

The supporting characters are equally fascinating and contribute significantly to the plot. From Okarun and Momo's companions, to the enigmatic characters that emerge throughout the series, each one has their own personality and function to fulfill. The animation and music are certainly no slouches, giving us some incredible moments on the soundtrack level, and some good ones with the animation. I must admit that the animation is not one of my favorite things in this series, but the characters are still very well done.

One of the moments that surprised me the most was seeing the first transformation of okarun to this kind of demon, after his possession. Without a doubt I loved the character design and the unique personality they attributed to him. A detail spoken at script level that I liked, was when the demon called ¨ Turbo grandmother¨, ended up being a lucky cat, becoming one more of the house. The series is full of moments like these that make you bond with the characters and make you feel involved in the plot.

Apart from the main story, Dan Da Dan also deals with interesting topics such as some real life cases, like the cursed tunnel in Japan, which has many stories and legends behind it. The characters face personal challenges that allow them to develop and transform throughout the series. This gives the story a depth that transcends mere comedy and action.

In short, Dan Da Dan is a must-see series if you're an anime fan. It is one of the most professional first combinations of suspense and food I have ever seen, giving us unparalleled results. Its charming characters, captivating story and excellent quality animation make it stand out as one of the best series of recent times. Without a doubt, this is a series that I would recommend, as everything is perfectly planned, with strong side stories and unique moments of laughter and entertainment.

  27. 🎬 📹 Dandadan 🎬 📹@takeru255600d

    image.png

I'm a little behind on dandadan. I watched episode 5 yesterday and found that I was smiling through most of the episode, which for me is honestly a surprise. I've watched several anime throughout my life (more than I like to admit, truth be told) and I've already lost a bit of sensitivity in the medium, however, as I've said before, every once in a while an anime comes along that I genuinely enjoy and not simply entertain me. An anime that I'm excited to watch because it makes me feel happy and relieved and not because of the intrigue of what's going to happen next episode. And by this I don't mean that I don't like anime that keep me on the edge of my seat in suspense and waiting every week for an answer, rather they are the ones I watch the most, but sometimes when I get tired and late from work, the best thing to do is to get something that makes you smile and laugh with a silly joke.

    image.png

    image.png

I watch Dandadan in latin spanish, just as I did when I watched dingeon meshi, because I used both anime to distract myself from how heavy life can be from time to time. Both anime have a latin adaptation by netflix and I have to say that netflix is great at translating anime, because I also had this pleasant experience with Pluto. Similarly, what I feel with Dandadan is not only because of the language, although the translation is being too much fun, but because sometimes I feel like an anime that can be on cartoon network, an anime that drinks a lot of western culture but still does not lose the characteristic Japanese touch.

    image.png

It reminds me a bit of Mob psycho, which was also shown on cartoon network, or Regular show, because it's as random as that series. Dandadan is very interesting and makes me want to talk not about how well produced it is, being such a nice work to watch with a team behind it that you can tell is very excited about anime, but how it makes me feel, how it manages to keep me for twenty minutes with a smile painted on my face for the simple fact of being a romantic comedy in such a pure and cute way. Thus, Dandadan has possibly become my favorite anime of the year and a comfort anime that I am sure I will watch more than once.

    image.png

    image.png

With this I have already lost count of the number of times this anime has been recommended to me, so now I don't see it as a recommendation, but more as a way to talk about what sometimes makes me happy, and at this moment, as silly as it may seem, it's Dandadan, but it has been like that throughout my life, with hunter x hunter, digimon, dragon ball, mob psycho or eizouken, I have always had anime that make me smile, so I would like to finish by asking, what anime grabbed your heart in this way?

  29. 'Dandadan' First Impressions: Where did this come from?!@namiks612d

    [SubsPlease] Dandadan - 03 (1080p) [569BAA9C]-0006.png

I've recently been getting back into anime after taking yet another long break from it. I recently watched through Mashle: Magic and Muscles which was a great surprise. But another anime that I stumbled across while browsing through MyAnimeList appeared: Dandadan. I took a brief look at the opening video on YouTube and noticed a similarity in the music. Ah, yes! The same group that did the opening song for Mashle's second season! I knew it! But it wasn't just the music that managed to gain my attention: Dandadan's opening was beautiful. An incredibly cinematic that had some genuinely impressive animation quality to it that I just never really see these days. It instantly hooked me in. And my curiosity immediately took over with me wanting to get through the first episode as soon as I could. Dandadan is unlike the majority of anime shows these days; and that's something I feel is a result of Japanese animation studio Science SARU and their own in-house style. There was something about that intro that felt familiar. I immediately thought of another anime show that came out a few years back now, one that was part of Netflix's earlier rise into the animation world: Devilman Crybaby. I remember this show making waves with the unique style it held, alongside a very vibrant use of colours that made many of its scenes really stand out with creativity. Dandadan is a show that seems similar in that regard: its art style is incredibly clean. But it thrives on a very good use of colour in its animation. This is most evident in the moments of action in which things become rather fast-paced and there's a specific dominant colour used to convey specific objects or characters. Strong reds are often utilised. That aforementioned use of tidy lines and clean art coming from a point of rather detailed and fast animation to which things feel placed with intent. Dandadan's story is focused much on the world of the supernatural, and that's where a lot of this stylisation really shines. Pulling inspiration from the Internet and its stories, the strange paranormal and otherworldly events of the United States, as well as from Japanese folklore. A lot of this gets referenced in the opening, but it's also clear from the character design of some of the supernatural beings that the characters end up having to deal with. That said, this is by no means an anime version of Ghostbusters. This is something a little more different: to begin with, Momo doesn't believe in aliens, and Ken doesn't believe in the supernatural. Both characters coming together after experiencing something and quickly becoming obsessed with it all. But also in the case of Ken, something very personal is taken by one of the spirits, becoming something of a rather important plot.

    [SubsPlease] Dandadan - 02 (1080p) [5F956413]-0004.png

Of course this is not without the show's intent to pull these two characters together a little more with a little bit of the expected romance. But a lot of this is more of a backdrop rather than a central focus within the story. Almost as if it's pulling them together in a strange twist of fate to which these differing characters actually have something to bond over, becoming quite an unlikely friendship, more so a relationship. I quite like so far that the romance and drama side of things between them isn't all that forced, it's something that's more given a bit of humour which serves as contrast to the more serious and rapid moments against the strange and spiritual, and I think that's something the show really needs. To add, it definitely gives things a bit more character without seeming like it's too serious about its themes; this is also quite important given we are still dealing with some teenagers that are in school still. Their ways of dealing with things is expectedly often void of logic and will be more emotionally driven. With Momo discovering abilities she has, and Ken discovering the powers within him caused from a possession, the episodes so far have been a lot on how they discover and interact with things using those newfound abilities. From intense chases through the streets and above trains, to becoming trapped within a courtyard while a sumo-loving spirit spreads a dangerous fog into the environment they've been walled-off inside.

Now, I wouldn't be able to finish this post without mentioning the character designs, particularly in how the spiritual and alien are designed. I really dig the way these have been created. So far each interaction the characters have had with the paranormal or otherworldly has been distinct, one after the other. I mentioned a moment ago the sumo-type spirit, to which that was a really fun set of events that had much of the colour removed from the images, with a towering sumo spirit that moved in almost robotic ways. We see aliens in the first episode, with their own odd generic alien sound when flying around in their ship, I loved that. But the aliens themselves had a really odd look to them. And this set of events was amplified by the more vibrant use of colours aboard the ship, strong blues which powered over most of the other colours. At one point we see a gigantic crab which becomes part of a granny spirit and morphs into this strange horrifying thing that speeds through the night streets after the characters. Each of these interactions so far feels impactful. With their own weight to them as they offer various threatening nature to their surroundings. We're four episodes in and I can't help but get excited for the next ones. With a lot of curiosity as to where things are heading and what else the characters will stumble across as they hone their abilities a bit more.

    [SubsPlease] Dandadan - 05 (1080p) [28020A6E]-0007.png

I can't remember the last time I saw an anime like this that really did blow all my expectations away, where I truly felt like I was watching something actually original and with an incredible degree of quality to it. Both in the creativity of its animation, as well as its storytelling. I'd be surprised if you're not already following this one, but if you're not, I highly recommend it. I think I'll go back to the first episode and start rewatching just to see if there are any minor details I may have missed, story or art.

  30. Dandadan - A pleasant surprise@musicandreview612d

There is an anime that at some point has been causing a stir in recent weeks, although only 5 chapters have been issued these have been enough to arouse the interest of the general public. I would say that the supernatural genre is overcrowded with content of all kinds, so it becomes complicated to determine which anime are good and which are not, but when one shows signs of being interesting the information spreads and reaches the fandom quickly. This has always happened, but not always the results have been as expected, some anime are great in the first chapters, however, end up declining as the story progresses.

So, to get into the subject, I want to give you my initial impressions of Dandadan, an anime that came to me because of the great commotion it has caused on the internet and that frankly has a very striking cover, notice how important it is that the graphic style enjoys creativity, good colors and good art. Just seeing a spaceship on the cover, but also monsters and spirits is reason enough to get the idea that a good vibe is coming, plus, the red and yellow colors somehow generate a mysterious and supernatural atmosphere.

To give you some context, this anime introduces us to Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura, two high school boys with very different personalities and attitudes. Momo is a cute, funny, self-confident girl who believes in spirits since her grandmother is a medium or spiritualist. On the other hand, Ken is shy, unpopular, nerdy and believes in extraterrestrials, in fact, he is obsessed with the subject and likes to investigate it. Thus we have two very different people both in gender and personality, as well as in supernatural beliefs.

In a certain circumstance, the two meet and discuss the existence of the aforementioned supernatural beings, Momo assures that extraterrestrials do not exist, while Ken refuses to believe in spirits, so both challenge each other to confirm their beliefs. Thus, when they agree to go to places where they both know that strange things happen, both are trapped in situations that beyond confirming the existence of both spirits and aliens, leaves them in a big problem that they did not expect at all.

From that experience they both generate a friendship in which they will face challenges and supernatural experiences from which it will be difficult to escape, but they have the great help of Momo's grandmother, Seiko Ayase, who as I mentioned before is a medium and seems to know in depth the mysteries of the spiritual world. By the way, I must point out that the grandmother has a very funny and striking personality, so far she is my favorite character of the anime, besides, beyond her white hair, physically she doesn't look like a grandmother at all.

The fun and frenetic tone of the anime is one of its great standards, from the first moment I was caught in the plot and the way it is raised. I think the author gets it right in the distinctive mix of personalities of the protagonists while adding complements such as the grandmother that enrich and amplify the story and the plot. The animation is in charge of a studio that until now had been unknown to me, I did a little research and I could only recognize that they made the animation of Devilman Crybaby, an anime that I also watched and liked a lot.

So, if you want to see an anime in which good comedy is not missing and that evokes different supernatural elements, then you should watch Dandadan, as I mentioned, only 5 chapters have been aired, but they have been enough to understand that it will be worth it, I think it is one of those anime that will last in time. Maybe it's too early to give it a score, but with what I've seen so far I could rate it a solid 8.5, we'll see how the season ends. For me in particular it has been a pleasant surprise, lately I have been skeptical with new anime, but watching Dandadan has been refreshing and renewing. By the way, you can watch this anime on Netflix.

  31. Possessed by Ghost Demons, Or Being Abducted by Aliens? Watch Anime Dan Da Dan@alienpunklord621d

    image.png image source

Dan Da Dan is the kind of anime that throws you into a well-orchestrated chaos right from the start, featuring bizarre aliens, rude ghosts, and even a bit of youthful romance. This touch of madness, combining absurd humor with a plot full of unexpected twists, is one of the reasons why the anime has been so captivating for me. The series begins by placing us in a setting where Okarun and Momo, two teenagers with very different beliefs, make a bet: he believes in aliens, she in ghosts, but both think the other's belief is crazy.

This is where things get interesting because they soon find themselves facing exactly what they don't believe in. I can give you a little spoiler that may have already appeared in the Anime’s introduction. As a challenge to each other, they decide to prove there are no ghosts or aliens. However, they end up proving the opposite that both exist and are now somehow out to get them.

And speaking of unusual encounters, we have the iconic Turbo Granny. This is one of the strangest supernatural entities introduced in the anime. She’s a perverted old woman who curses Okarun in a way that’s both hilarious and a bit scary, giving the protagonist a rather unconventional "ability" and creating a funny yet bizarre dynamic.

This character adds an unsettling touch of humor to the story, reminiscent of other anime that also mix dark and comedic elements, like Mob Psycho 100, where the supernatural also meets humor in surreal situations.

The anime also gives us a glimpse into the romantic interactions that develop in an unexpected way between Momo and Okarun. Despite the surrounding insanity, the chemistry between the two is quite genuine and ends up being one of the elements that hold the viewer’s attention between one crazy scene and the next. This youthful "romance" amidst battles with ghosts and aliens is somewhat reminiscent of the dynamic rhythm in Noragami, where the supernatural and the mundane intertwine unpredictably. Momo, with her strong and stubborn personality, and Okarun, more reserved and alien-nerd, are the kind of duo that seems unlikely but works in a unique way.

To top it off, Dan Da Dan’s animation is a show in itself.

Each scene is filled with vibrant colors and moments that make the screen literally explode with action, something many have compared to Chainsaw Man, where aesthetics and frenetic action go hand in hand. The production quality gives it a stunning visual appeal, with aliens and ghosts having truly memorable and even grotesque designs, like the Serpoian aliens, who are scarily funny, blending horror and eccentricity in a comic way.

Dan Da Dan manages to blend heavy and humorous themes in a way that few anime can.

With its fast-paced scenes at just the right moments, eccentric characters, and intense moments of action and humor, the anime is perfect for those who enjoy a supernatural mix with a touch of comedy. If you're a fan of series like Mob Psycho 100 or Noragami, or enjoy a plot where the improbable becomes the center of the story, Dan Da Dan is definitely a hot recommendation.

Moreover, it also plays with the clichés of youthful romance amidst absurd settings, making each episode a surprise.

Titre alternatif : DAN DA DAN Titre original : ダンダダン Auteur: Yukinobu Tatsu

    L'intrigue m'a parfois échappé .

  33. Manga Recommendation - "Dandadan"@shortshots1615d

    DANDADAN

    Hi guys!

Hope everyone is well and having a wonderful 2022!

What I'm about to talk about is a manga I've recently been enjoying and I thought I'd share some screenshots from and talk about.

As I may have mentioned in my previous posts concerning anime and manga, I'm a big fan of action, interesting characters, and visuals.

Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.38.56 PM.png "Dandadan" is about two protagonists:

    • A pretty high-school girl named Momo Ayase who doesn't believe in extra-terrestrials
    • And a nerdy high-school boy named Ken Takakura who doesn't believe in ghosts

    Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.39.11 PM.png

    • This quickly changes when the two very different high-school kids must work together to not only find a way to free Takakura after he gets cursed by a powerful ghost called the Turbo Granny .... Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.24.16 PM.png

    • ... But also protect Ayase who develops psychic powers and becomes targeted by dangerous extra-terrestrials. Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.24.27 PM.png

    • I don't want to explain what any of these screenshots mean or are about because it'd spoil the story -- but just look at how magnificent this art is. Not to bash on western cartoons or mainstream anime/manga but sometimes I want to see something that's Berserk-level and just fills me with awe and immediately tells me that the artist put their heart and soul into drawing what I get the privilege of enjoying. Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.27.34 PM.png

    • I especially enjoy how menacingly bizarre the art is in "Dandadan" and love the way the artists plays with angles and focus. Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.28.10 PM.png

    • This is definitely one of those panels where when I first looked at it, I immediately thought -- "This is some high quality Berserk level stuff here. Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.26.21 PM.png

    • And the show doesn't just have beautiful panels but really crazy action sequences that are done with this windy twisty style that I really appreciated. Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.26.39 PM.png

    • Sometimes the art wasn't super detailed but the concept of what I was looking at made me pause because of how strange it was. Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.28.35 PM.png Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.28.47 PM.png

    • Once again, awesome action sequences. And it doesn't just start off great, the action and story and character development just gets better and better. Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.25.08 PM.png

    • I'd love to tell you what's going on here but it'd be a disservice to anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of enjoying "Dandadan" yet. Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.31.43 PM.png Screen Shot 2022-02-05 at 3.29.39 PM.png

Hope this post finds everyone well and I'll try to make more anime and manga recommendations in the future. I'm in now way an expert on the subject but as a fan I just want to share what's caught my interest lately. Please let me know if you have any recommendations of your own! I'm always eager to enjoy more great stuff.
