Teen Wolf is a series that premiered on MTV on June 5 2011. Nobody really knew what to expect from Teen Wolf, The concept of Teen Wolf sounded simple enough, Scott McCall is your teenager in Beacon Hills. He gets bitten by a werewolf one night in the woods. Suddenly his whole life changes, He gets faster, stronger, his senses get better, he starts making the team girls notice him everything is looking up for Scott McCall, Except for the fact that he's now a Teen Wolf and has to figure out what that means without getting himself or the people he loves killed.

The series Teen Wolf ran for six seasons wrapped up in 2017 and that gave us a total of 100 episodes, that is a lot of drama, for the part Teen Wolf earned every single one of them.
The heart of Teen Wolf was always the friendship between Scott McCall and Stiles, Tyler Posey as Scott McCall brings this energy to the character, He is a kid who never asked to be a Wolf but decides to be a hero. Dylan O'Brien as Stiles is the relief and the emotional anchor of movie at the same time, then you have Derek Hale, Tyler Hoechlin, the Wolf who becomes a mentor figure.. Allison Argent, Crystal Reed Scott McCalls crush as at the earliest season who comes from a family of werewolf hunters.

Season one of Teen Wolf sets everything up cleanly, It establishes Beacon Hills as a town that is hiding something, Season two of the movie expands the world introduces creatures raises the stakes, Season three of the movie is where the show really hits its peak, It is split into two parts, The first part deals with a pack of Alpha werewolves and the second part goes into territory with the Nogitsune storyline, with the Nogitsune storyline, which is honestly some of the best television the show ever produced, Dylan O'Brien in that arc is something to watch, Season four of the movie is a step down after season three.. It still delivers enough to keep you watching it, Season five of it then brings in the Dread Doctors as villains, It is ambitious even if it does not always land. Season six of Teen Wolf wraps everything up with a ghost story and a final battle, It gives fans the kind of sendoff they were hoping for.

This movie understood that the human moments matter as much as the monster ones, the friendships, the heartbreaks the parents trying to understand their children the way Beacon Hills itself feels like a character. The movie never let the mythology swallow the people. That is why it stayed compelling for six seasons, even when individual storylines were not great , the movie was still good.
Not everything about this movie landed perfectly, some seasons introduced characters who never really went anywhere, Some villains got built up. Then went too, the departure of cast members in later seasons left gaps that were hard to fill, The movie was never quite the same after certain characters exited, you felt that shift in the energy of the movie

Teen Wolf is one of those series that starts off feeling like a teen drama. It slowly becomes something you are genuinely invested in, the mythology of Teen Wolf gets rich the characters grow up, by the time you reach the finale you have spent years with these people, it is not a show but at its best particularly in season three it is genuinely excellent television, if you have not watched Teen Wolf yet start from the beginning. Give it the first three seasons, at least. You will not regret watching Teen Wolf.
