Country road Kono michi Zutto Yukeba Ano machi ni Tsuzuiteru Ki ga suru Country road
Country road If you follow this road onward It continues to that town, I think Country road

There are times in life when we want to go somewhere where our hearts want us to go. Let me ask you, have you ever listened to the ***"whispers of your heart"***? Oftentimes, we get lost, become undecided and we just let time and circumstances in life guide us. Sometimes, we even just watch it pass by our very eyes. How do you feel about it? Do you feel regretful sometimes?
As you have seen above, I wrote the Japanese lyrics as well as the English translation of the song "Country Road" which was used as the opening song of the anime "Whispers of the Heart".
## How is this song relevant to the anime?
The song *(the Japanese one)* is basically about a person *(I'll pretend that person's a girl since the main character of the anime is a girl)* who wants to break off her shell and become free. She is constantly trying to find what she wants to do, but at the same time she's scared. She wants to always go back home where she feels the most comfortable. She has this great dilemma between staying in her comfort zone and reaching for her dreams. However, in the last stanza of the song... it was said.
**Country road** **Ashita wa Itsumo no Boku sa** **Kaeritai Kaerenai Sayonara** **Country road**
> [*Country road* *Tomorrow, the me I always am* *I want to go back, but I can't, farewell* *Country road*](http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/woth/moscroad.htm)

The girl decided to follow her heart and get out of her comfort zone. She chose her dreams than the comfort of her home. The anime is pretty much similar to that. Let me tell you about it.

What is the Anime about?

Mimi wo Sumaseba or most commonly known as Whispers of the Heart basically revolves around a girl named ***"Shizuku"***. It was summer vacation that time and she usually spends the whole summer in the library reading and borrowing some books. She noticed that there was a certain "guy" who has read all the books she has been reading. It was a mystery to her that it piqued her interest.

And there came an "unexpected event" which changed her whole life. When she was on her way to the library, she suddenly saw a cat riding the train with her. Of course, this is in any way, uncommon. She then decided to follow the cat around which brought her to an antique shop owned by an old man called ***"Nishi"***. Grandpa Nishi is actually the grandfather of the mystery boy named ***"Seiji"***.

She became friends with the mystery boy and grandpa Nishi. After this fateful meeting, Shizuku's life changed. If you're interested to know what happened, feel free to watch the anime. I don't want to spoil you any more than I already did. *(lol)*
# Let's Get Motivated!
As always, I don't simply make a review post without sharing my favorite quotes from the anime. So I hope you continue reading with an open mind and heart.

## *Don't expect perfection at first. The rough stone is inside you. You have to find it and then polish it. It takes time and effort.*
I strongly believe that we are not perfect, but we can always do our best. Each of us has our own potential and its growth depends on how we use it. In my experience, I met some people who praised me because of my artworks. Some of them said, ***"You draw very well. I wish I could draw like you. You have a great talent!"*** In all honesty, I don't really call this a talent, but a product of my frustration and hard work.
I didn't have the talent, but I had the potential. All of us have it! When I was young, I was the worst among my cousins when it comes to drawing. It was so frustrating because I tried so hard to make my drawing good, but they always drew it better with less effort. However, this didn't stop me. I continued to strive even until now.
So my dears, if you want to do something but you're not confident enough in doing it... still, TRY! Give it a shot and not just an ordinary shot. GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT! Find that potential in you, hone it... nurture it. Use the frustration that you feel as your energy to do it even better! Indeed, it takes time and effort... but the satisfaction you can get from something you have poured your time and effort to is a thousand fold better. <3

## *Not everyone has to be the same. Do what you believe in, but it's not easy when you walk your own road. You've only got yourself to blame.*
True enough! Nobody is perfectly the same. It saddens me how people can be dictated by others. I don't like it when other people try to push their opinions to other people. There's nothing wrong with giving your opinion, but you also have to respect the person's decision. After all, the decision is that person to take and not yours. *Ooops... Did I come out strong? Sorry... hihihi~*
I guess I'm just very lucky to have a family that is very understanding. My mama wanted me to be an accountant because she thought it suits me, but I chose the challenging major which is Nursing. Although she didn't like it, she supported me. *Thanks mama and papa!* Now, I completed the course and got the license... guess what? I didn't use the profession. Despite this, I am genuinely happy with my life. I didn't regret anything. The "battle" I faced in the "Nursing field" made me stronger.
Another experience was when I fell in love. It's complicated and I got my mama worried. Some people might think it will do me no good, but this is what I want and I don't want to regret anything. So, I continued... I got hurt, yes, but I had no regrets. I was allowed to cry, and after that, I felt refreshed.
I firmly believe that we need to make our own decisions in life. Let's not make other people dictate us what to do. What is considered a "standard" isn't always right. What suits me might not suit others. Let's be happy! Let's make our own choices. Let's celebrate when we make the right choice, and cry when we don't. This will certainly help us grow... as an individual and as a human with a heart.

I'll end my post here. Thanks a lot for dropping by! それではまた~ Love lots, @tegoshei

OOOOHHH!! So touching @tegoshei I ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!! We hear a lot of whispers especially when we have to make choices. We sometimes choose something because we are supposed to, not because we believe that it is what's right for us. And when it fails we blame other people and we don't own up to the consequences of the choice made.

THe beauty in choosing what your heart whispers is that if it succeeds, it's on you, if it fails, it is still on you. And it is much easier to take in whatever happens because we take full responsibility to our choice and it will be very easy to pin point what went wrong and what went right. Choosing what our heart whispers will help us choose something that we will not regret in the end.
