The truth is, I'm not a big fan of love stories or romantic dramas. I think I'm more of a Studio Ghibli fan, and that's why I decided to sit down and watch this film. I knew what to expect, but I didn't mind because I was sure the film's quality in every way would be excellent. "Whisper of the Heart" is a story that combines a very human plot full of emotions and feelings with the fantastical elements that Miyazaki has always accustomed us to. It's true that fantasy is usually central to everything, but in this case, it isn't. Shizuku, our protagonist, is a young woman who, because of her age, experiences many things that we've all felt at some point.

As I was saying, Shizuku is an average student who enjoys poetry, singing, and reading—especially reading. She spends most of her time in the library reading until one day she realizes that all the books she borrows have already been read by someone else. This sparks her curiosity because it means there might be a connection between them. As life seems to be full of coincidences, she eventually meets Seiji Amasawa, a young man who aspires to be a luthier. At first, their first impressions might not be the best, but she soon realizes how much being around Seiji has changed her in terms of personal growth.

The plot is actually quite simple; what matters is the message and how the characters develop. Shizuku is just a teenager living her life day by day. As passionate as she is about things, she hasn't considered what she wants to be or what her dream might be, and this didn't bother her at first. But after meeting Seiji, she began to see things differently. Why? Because he's the complete opposite. He's a young man who knows what he wants and is very clear about it. We see how that certainty may have rubbed off on Shizuku, causing her to take things a little more seriously and to heart.

At the end of the day, it's a story of personal growth, of pursuing dreams, and of dealing with almost self-imposed social and personal pressure. As you can see, the story is incredibly realistic because many of you reading this have probably experienced it. But fantasy isn't absent from this story either, as Shizuku wants to be a writer, so she uses a figure from an antique shop, "The Baron," to bring to life the characters and the plot that's emerging from her mind and dreams. This materializes in scenes where we see the two of them flying through the skies, and especially in the story she was told about the origin of the sculpture.

As always, the animation is top-notch. A film made in 1995 boasts cinematography that looks like a real photograph. It's incredibly detailed, vibrant, and textured; the attention to detail in the animation is what truly gives these films their added value. At times, I almost forgot about Shizuku's "drama" with Seiji thanks to all of this, and because it's not exactly a romantic story. It has its nuances, especially towards the end, but it's not a cloying plot.

The incredibly well-developed and endearing characters are another major factor in Studio Ghibli's success, because even a simple cat is imbued with such personality that it becomes a protagonist. A great film by the master Miyazaki. It's one of his most well-known and frequently mentioned works, making it a must-see; it's well worth watching. It's a simple yet profound story, and the moral or lesson is very useful for everyone. It's less than two hours long; I've included the trailer below.

  2. Anime Review -Whisper of the Heart -The heart finds its voice.@naturaluttom396d

‎Heartiest greetings to everyone. I hope you are all well. Today I bring you an amazing anime film that touches the heart. This story is not just stuck in the world of imagination, it highlights a sweet, emotional side of our lives. The movie is called Whisper of the Heart. ‎

Source ‎ ‎I was looking for a movie that doesn't say anything too loudly, but rather comes quietly and touches the heart gently. And that's when I saw Studio Ghibli's Whisper of the Heart. And to be honest, it's not just an anime, it's like an experience. It was nice to share it with you. ‎ ‎Shizuku is a teenage girl who loves books, dreams, but hasn't found her inner voice yet. I had a lot in common with her. School, family, dreams of writing, doubts about the future everything seemed to become a part of her life. ‎ ‎One day, Shizuku noticed that the books she took from the library had all been read by a previous reader, Seiji Amasawa. From then on, a sweet mystery, a magical attraction begins. This attraction leads her to Seiji, a boy who is also fighting for his own dream. He wants to go to Germany because he is addicted to making violins. And this is where my favorite place is when Shizuku realizes that she also has something to say to this world, something to create. She devotes herself to writing, creating a world in her imagination, where a cat named The Baron lives. ‎

    Source

‎This song is the soul of the movie. Shizuku's own translation of Concrete Roads really stuck in my mind. It was like a cry of the heart hidden under the concrete of the city. I still listened to the song many times alone at night, with headphones, with my eyes closed. It was like someone was singing to me. ‎ ‎This movie taught me that everyone has to grow up in their own time. Shizuku didn't grow up suddenly. People like Seiji, his confidence, his goals inspired Shizuku, but didn't pressure her. This place left a mark on me. It is very important to have someone in our lives who doesn't tell you to change, but teaches you to dream your own way. ‎ ‎ ‎I thought it would be a fantasy, with lots of characters and magic, but when I saw that it was actually very real, I liked it even more. The small things in the city, standing on the roof and taking in the air, the smell of the library, the night light, all seemed like familiar scenes from my own life. ‎One more thing, the character of The Baron has a kind of nostalgia. There is a touch of magic, but he lives within reality. ‎

    Source

‎I was silent after the end of this movie. There is no big climax, nothing dramatic, yet a terrible peace works inside. It felt like I had something to say, something written, which maybe one day I will dare to say or write. ‎ ‎This anime teaches us how to find ourselves, how the first love of adolescence inspires life, and how to chase our dreams with courage. The name of the movie. This is not just a story, but an experience, a journey of listening to your inner voice.

  3. Anime Review~ Whisper of the Heart - Where the Heart Finds Its Voice@psyberkid410d

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. Today I bring you an anime. It is a beautiful story of self-discovery, young love and chasing your dreams. The name of the movie is Whisper of the Heart

    Story Summary

Whisper of the Heart is a heartwarming story about Shizuku Tsukishima, a curious 14-year-old girl who loves to read. One day, she notices that all the library books she borrowed have already been read by a man named Seiji Amasawa. Curious, she starts to find out who he is. Suddenly, one day, she walks into an old antique shop where she sees many beautiful statues that she likes very much. She learns that this shop belongs to Seiji's grandfather. The two of them had met before but it wasn't very good. This time, the two met again and a heated relationship developed between them.

Shizuku finally meets Seiji. He is a boy and as their friendship grows, she learns that he wants to become a master violin maker and that he wants to study abroad. Shizuku is initially happy about this but later becomes saddened by their distance. Shizuku then begins to think about what she will do in the future. Inspired by her emotions, Shizuku decides to follow her own creative path by writing a fantasy story. Although the story focuses on their growing friendship and dreams, it is also full of gentle quiet moments in life, such as writing and drinking tea.

The film is set in a quiet suburb of Tokyo and reflects the gentle beauty of everyday moments. Scenes of Shizuku sharing tea with her family or visiting Seiji's grandfather's antique shop are rich in warmth. Tea serves as a symbol of comfort, tranquility and connection between the characters. It is not the center of the story but it is always there, grounding the emotions with simple and everyday peace.

    My Review

Whispers of the Heart is not a loud movie. It is a gently soothing story, like a warm cup of tea on a rainy afternoon. I love how the film uses quiet moments to deepen the emotions, and the scenes with tea are the most relaxing and heartwarming. Whether Shizuku is drinking tea while thinking about her next story or enjoying it during a family meal, the presence of tea adds a comforting realness to the film. Studio Ghibli's attention to everyday details, like the sound of the steam rising from the teacup, makes you feel like you're right there with the characters.

It was a beautiful story. The main idea behind it is to discover yourself. If you don't set any goals for yourself or what you want to do in the future, you need to have a plan for what you want to do in your life. This is very important to be successful in life. It helps a lot to keep your life moving in the right direction. That's it for today.

Thanks you so much for reading. See you next :)

  4. The Anthem of the Heart || Heartbreak and Healing@ridgette460d

They say mean words cut deeper than a knife...do you believe in that? Well, for the record, I've been cut with those for a lot of times, and they really are scarring. You probably wondering why I'm prattling about mean words now, and of 'course that's because of the anime I watched yesterday. For days I totally abstained from watching any anime because of the upcoming tests I needed to focus on and yesterday was supposedly the day of one of our major tests. However, fortunately, it got postponed, and since I woke up early and couldn't sleep anymore, so I decided to just watch a movie that's been sitting for ages on my to-watch list.

So enough with that, be with me again as we take a brief peek at the story of heartbreak and healing in the movie: The Anthem of the Heart.

    About the Anime

    IMG_20250404_213351.jpg

The Anthem of the Heart (Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda) aired on September 19, 2015. Its genres are romance and drama and its themes are predominantly performing arts and school. This original anime movie was animated by A-1 Pictures, and later on it had a live-action adaptation that aired July 22, 2017.

    IMG_20250404_213412.jpg

So it all started when Jun, a certified chatterbox, saw her father and another woman coming out from "a castle". Since she's naive and too deluded with fairytales, she thinks that it is just normal. And not long after, she unknowingly shared her father's infidelity with her mother and with that, the bond of their family crumbled. After being blamed by his father, she was filled with remorse and guilt to the point it manifested into a magical talking egg, which later sealed shut her mouth so that she could no longer use it to hurt people.

    IMG_20250404_213425.jpg

For years, she was able to live her life without speaking, however, a certain experience is bound to change that. Chosen to be one of the committees for an outreach event, she was forced then force to cooperate. She was really against the idea of being on the committee but after hearing her classmate, Takumi Sakagami, sing—something inside her stirred. Even though she still can't speak without having an upset stomach, she still tried to do the best she could to contribute, and along the way, she discovered something. Her curse doesn't affect her when she sings!

But can she now express the unsaid feelings that have been pent up within her? Or will she still choose them to be sealed inside that magic egg forever?

    IMG_20250404_213511.jpg

So I was expecting a lot from it because it started interestingly. The story immediately took off the moment the MC was introduced, which was a nice start because it immediately hooked me up. Although I couldn't relate to the conflict, I still felt the emotions that they wanted to convey. However, for me, it failed to sustain my attention for the whole time. There are times when the dialogue is too bland and conventional. It's not that I'm looking for totally deep talks, but I was just expecting something more.

    IMG_20250404_213527.jpg

Also, what tipped me off further is how the romance went. I somehow anticipated that it would be the typical high school romance with a love polygon and such, but still, I was expecting a twist. And they did give the twist, though I find it half-baked and uninteresting. The end part with romance felt so off, and although I like their ship, I didn't expect that they would resort to that quite cliche denouement. Yes, there are already hints along the way, but still, I expected something (I badly want to share it, but I don't want to spoil so...), which was a bad move because the more you expect something to happen the higher the chance you'll not get it.

    IMG_20250404_213538.jpg

Moving on from that, its art style was cute—it's not very stylistic nor detailed, but I guess its simplicity added to its charm. The animation was not that outstanding, but it was decent enough to convey their feelings—especially Jun's. Also, one of the things that I find creative is how they portrayed her guilt as a talking egg. I really find it brilliant because they're able to maximize the use of that symbolism up to the end. And as for its soundtrack, it's nice to hear some familiar tunes in it. The way they incorporated the made-up lyrics and those pre-existing tunes was lovely, and unlike its romance, this one didn't disappoint me. Most of them are melancholic and heartwarming and they match well with the mood of the movie.

    IMG_20250404_213614.jpg

All in all, I rate this anime 7.5/10 because it somehow fell short in sustaining the hype I felt for it at the start. It wasn't that entirely bad, but I guess that particular scene ruined most of the good things I've felt for this movie. I think the story would have gone better if the romance was left out. The subtle hints would just go well or perhaps a nicer portrayal of it, but anyway I still enjoyed most of it—especially those brief scenes with Sakagami's friends. So if you're up for a decent romantic drama movie with interesting music, then you need to try watching The Anthem of the Heart.

Before I end this review, I'll share with you its trailer, so—

Continuing with the films of Ghibli Studios, today it was the turn of Whispers of the Heart with a screenplay by Hayao Miyazaki (Ponyo, My Neighbor Totoro, The Walking Castle, among others) and is based on the manga of the same name by Aoi Hiiragi and was published in 1995. Like other films from the studio it is full of valuable learnings but there is also an important reference that perhaps “Ghibli lovers” will recognize instantly.

    Overview/Resumen

Shizuku Tsukishima loves to read, she is always in the library asking for books to take home, suddenly she discovers a recurring name in the library loan cards, Seiji Amasawa, she begins to investigate who he is until she discovers that he is a boy from her same school, a boy that to top it all she disliked because of his insidious comments, however the link that unites them is that this boy is the grandson of the owner of the antique store that Shizuku used to visit because she liked him a lot, especially because of a certain article that I will tell you about later. They both get to know each other better, then Seiji tells Shizuku that his dream is to become a great luthier (maker and restorer of stringed instruments) and seeing that he has really been putting his heart into his dream and even plans to travel to Italy to study, she also sets out to test her talent, that of being a writer, so she decides to write a novel based on the story of the antique store owner, and receives a valuable lesson from him, we all have a beautiful gem inside and we just have to polish it every day to make it shine with its own light.

    My Opinion/Mi Opinión

I like to be completely honest with you in my opinion, so I will not lie to you, I must confess that at the beginning this movie bored me, well, I got bored during a good part of the movie because it has a very, very slow pace, too much, I would say, so it is not exactly my favorite movie from Ghibli Studios, this along with Princess Mononoke is in my personal ranking of the movies that I liked the least, however that does not mean that I do not recognize the main message it conveys, and neither the resources used for it, especially the fact that we can see a character that later would be part of another film of the studio, I refer of course to the Baron, this time it is only a figurine of a cat that serves as inspiration for Shizuku's novel, however this comes to life in his imagination and is who serves as a guide in his fantastic journeys (moment in which the film becomes much more interesting, at least for me) Years later the Ghibli studios returned to use the image of this sophisticated character in another film, The Return of the Cat.

Books are partly the protagonists of this story, we see them with marked relevance in Shizuku's house, in the antique store and of course in the library, perhaps it is an allegory that a book, bookstores or libraries, can become connections between individuals and others, stories make us identify with others while bookstores and libraries often tend to be meeting places. Cats are also an important part of the film, on the one hand the Baron represents enduring and persevering love, and on the other hand, the cat that Shizuku sees on the train at the beginning, acts as a guide both for her as a character and for us as an audience, we see him in the opening credits scenes of the film, he is in places that we will later recognize, and his goal is to mark the places that will be important within the plot, and later we see the protagonist follow him until he reaches the antique store, that is, he takes her to a point where she will end up discovering her true vocation.

I think the music plays a very important role in this film, it serves as a connection between both main characters, The song 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' by John Denver and originally sung by Olivia Newton-John defines very well that feeling that Shizuku doesn't quite find, but as she does the translation of the song she starts to connect with it. On the other hand I like how she is able to realize that Seiji has a well defined north, he knows what he wants and is working hard to get it, this gives her enough inspiration she needs to discover her own vocation as well, that is, mutual love is important but so is self-love, working towards your interests, what you like or would like to do, discovering your talent. And that is precisely what the central theme of the film is about, she discovers at some point, thanks to her novel and the constructive and totally sincere criticism she receives from Seiji's grandfather, that she is good at writing but that she must keep working to polish her skills. And that is how life is, we are all like the rough stone mentioned in the movie, we all have great abilities within us, but we must work every day to improve those skills and surpass ourselves, otherwise we would only remain common stones.

And well, as I said, it is not my favorite movie, but mostly due to the very slow pace in which the events take place, but anyway I consider it a movie worth watching to appreciate the value of its message. Thank you very much for reading and for any comments you want to give me. See you another time 😉

    psyberkid(1).png

Hello everyone, Today I am going to share with you a life lesson romantic anime Whisper of the Heart. It is a wonderful movie written by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli. It was released in Japan in 1995. It is a completely different from other Studio Ghibli movies a surreal yet realistic movie. The story is very fascinating.

    Story

The story is about a 14-year-old girl named Shizuku Tsukishima, who has a deep love for books and writing. One day she notices that many of the books she borrows have been seen before by a man named Seiji Amasawa. Out of curiosity, she eventually meets Seiji, who dreams of becoming a skilled violin maker. Shizuku is uncertain about her future, while Seiji is determined to follow his passion.

Shizuku often visits an antique shop owned by Seiji's grandfather, where she is drawn to a statue of a cat named The Baron. Inspired by Seiji's devotion, she challenges herself to write a novel with The Baron as the main character. However, the journey proves difficult as she struggles with self-doubt and exhaustion.

When Seiji moves to Italy to make violins, Shizuku immerses herself in her writing. Despite her family's concerns, she perseveres. Finally, he completes his novel and shares it with Seiji's grandfather, who praises his efforts and assures him that growth takes time.

Seiji returns and they share a heartfelt moment on a mountaintop overlooking Tokyo. They promise to support each other's dreams, looking to the future with determination and hope. The film ends on an encouraging note, emphasizing the beauty of perseverance and passion.

    My Thoughts

Whispers of the Heart explores the importance of dreams, young love, and growth. The film encourages viewers to embrace their desires, work hard, and find inspiration in the simple moments of life.

A beautifully crafted film, Whispers of the Heart is a touching story of youth, ambition, and love. It reminds us that chasing dreams is never easy, but the journey is worth it. This movie is a must-watch for those looking for a heartwarming and inspiring film.

The theme of the movie was about discovering yourself and dedicating yourself to the dream you have of love. And maintaining your love life and supporting your partner.

I found it very creative and inspiring which highlighted a very beautiful and important topic. I hope you all like it a lot and it will make your own thoughts more beautiful.

When we think of Studio Ghibli films, we imagine stories with lots of fantasy and magic, but there are many films of the studio with stories that are much more everyday and that we might think that happen often, but as always with the characteristic touch of Studio Ghibli that does not make us doubt for a second that it is a film from there ... But where are my manners? Hello everyone, I hope you are very well and as always, have had an excellent weekend, I had a great time and I must confess that on weekends I am not very aware of social networks, or the phone in general. As I said at the beginning, today I will talk about a Studio Ghibli movie that is not much talked about (I feel), but it is still quite good and has its funny moments...

Mimi wo Sumaseba or Whispers of the Heart (it has a soap opera name, sorry 😂) is a Studio Ghibli film released in 1995, directed by Yoshifumi Kondō and scripted by Hayao Miyazaki (my God, this guy does everything in the studio), it is based on the manga of the same name by Aoi Hiiragi. The story focuses on Shizuku Tsukishima, a high school student who is a book devourer, in every book she orders from the bookstore she always finds that someone named Seiji Amazawa always reads the books before her and she always wonders what kind of person he is and decides to investigate who he is. One day she chases a cat (I don't judge her, I would do the same) to an antique store that is run by an older man named Shiro Nishi who shows Shizuku the store and she is amazed especially with the statue of a cat called "The Baron" which yes, is the same as in the movie The Cat Returns, but this movie came out first...

Obviously I'm not going to tell you the whole movie because what's the joke? I don't usually do spoilers in my posts, so I'll talk a little bit about what I thought of the movie. I start with something random, and that is that it really surprises me how permissive parents are in movies, the kids just say "I'm going out" and say "well", I had to ask permission almost a week before and praying to God that they would give me permission, anyways, it's a random fact. Although I don't think it's the best thing the studio has done, it's not a bad movie either, as I said at the beginning of the post, it presents an everyday and normal situation, where the protagonist is just a teenager who is a little impulsive and doesn't really know what she wants to do in her future, I think it's important to show it in this kind of productions, I mean, not everyone knows what they want to do in their life.

Tell me what you think of this movie if you have already seen it and if not, I think you could have a nice time watching it, it lasts almost two hours, to be honest at first I found it a little slow but that usually happens to me with many movies, I'll say goodbye for now, thank you very much for reading and see you later in another post ❤️

  8. Motivational Series #10: WHISPERS OF THE HEART (an anime review and motivational post)@tegoshei3066d

Country road Kono michi Zutto Yukeba Ano machi ni Tsuzuiteru Ki ga suru Country road
Country road If you follow this road onward It continues to that town, I think Country road

There are times in life when we want to go somewhere where our hearts want us to go. Let me ask you, have you ever listened to the ***"whispers of your heart"***? Oftentimes, we get lost, become undecided and we just let time and circumstances in life guide us. Sometimes, we even just watch it pass by our very eyes. How do you feel about it? Do you feel regretful sometimes?
As you have seen above, I wrote the Japanese lyrics as well as the English translation of the song "Country Road" which was used as the opening song of the anime "Whispers of the Heart".
    ## How is this song relevant to the anime?
The song *(the Japanese one)* is basically about a person *(I'll pretend that person's a girl since the main character of the anime is a girl)* who wants to break off her shell and become free. She is constantly trying to find what she wants to do, but at the same time she's scared. She wants to always go back home where she feels the most comfortable. She has this great dilemma between staying in her comfort zone and reaching for her dreams. However, in the last stanza of the song... it was said.
**Country road** **Ashita wa Itsumo no Boku sa** **Kaeritai Kaerenai Sayonara** **Country road**
    > [*Country road* *Tomorrow, the me I always am* *I want to go back, but I can't, farewell* *Country road*](http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/woth/moscroad.htm)

The girl decided to follow her heart and get out of her comfort zone. She chose her dreams than the comfort of her home. The anime is pretty much similar to that. Let me tell you about it.

    What is the Anime about?

Mimi wo Sumaseba or most commonly known as Whispers of the Heart basically revolves around a girl named ***"Shizuku"***. It was summer vacation that time and she usually spends the whole summer in the library reading and borrowing some books. She noticed that there was a certain "guy" who has read all the books she has been reading. It was a mystery to her that it piqued her interest.

And there came an "unexpected event" which changed her whole life. When she was on her way to the library, she suddenly saw a cat riding the train with her. Of course, this is in any way, uncommon. She then decided to follow the cat around which brought her to an antique shop owned by an old man called ***"Nishi"***. Grandpa Nishi is actually the grandfather of the mystery boy named ***"Seiji"***.

IMAGE SOURCE: That is Granpa Nishi.

She became friends with the mystery boy and grandpa Nishi. After this fateful meeting, Shizuku's life changed. If you're interested to know what happened, feel free to watch the anime. I don't want to spoil you any more than I already did. *(lol)*
    # Let's Get Motivated!
As always, I don't simply make a review post without sharing my favorite quotes from the anime. So I hope you continue reading with an open mind and heart.

    ## *Don't expect perfection at first. The rough stone is inside you. You have to find it and then polish it. It takes time and effort.*
I strongly believe that we are not perfect, but we can always do our best. Each of us has our own potential and its growth depends on how we use it. In my experience, I met some people who praised me because of my artworks. Some of them said, ***"You draw very well. I wish I could draw like you. You have a great talent!"*** In all honesty, I don't really call this a talent, but a product of my frustration and hard work.
I didn't have the talent, but I had the potential. All of us have it! When I was young, I was the worst among my cousins when it comes to drawing. It was so frustrating because I tried so hard to make my drawing good, but they always drew it better with less effort. However, this didn't stop me. I continued to strive even until now.
So my dears, if you want to do something but you're not confident enough in doing it... still, TRY! Give it a shot and not just an ordinary shot. GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT! Find that potential in you, hone it... nurture it. Use the frustration that you feel as your energy to do it even better! Indeed, it takes time and effort... but the satisfaction you can get from something you have poured your time and effort to is a thousand fold better. <3

    ## *Not everyone has to be the same. Do what you believe in, but it's not easy when you walk your own road. You've only got yourself to blame.*
True enough! Nobody is perfectly the same. It saddens me how people can be dictated by others. I don't like it when other people try to push their opinions to other people. There's nothing wrong with giving your opinion, but you also have to respect the person's decision. After all, the decision is that person to take and not yours. *Ooops... Did I come out strong? Sorry... hihihi~*
I guess I'm just very lucky to have a family that is very understanding. My mama wanted me to be an accountant because she thought it suits me, but I chose the challenging major which is Nursing. Although she didn't like it, she supported me. *Thanks mama and papa!* Now, I completed the course and got the license... guess what? I didn't use the profession. Despite this, I am genuinely happy with my life. I didn't regret anything. The "battle" I faced in the "Nursing field" made me stronger.
Another experience was when I fell in love. It's complicated and I got my mama worried. Some people might think it will do me no good, but this is what I want and I don't want to regret anything. So, I continued... I got hurt, yes, but I had no regrets. I was allowed to cry, and after that, I felt refreshed.
I firmly believe that we need to make our own decisions in life. Let's not make other people dictate us what to do. What is considered a "standard" isn't always right. What suits me might not suit others. Let's be happy! Let's make our own choices. Let's celebrate when we make the right choice, and cry when we don't. This will certainly help us grow... as an individual and as a human with a heart.

I'll end my post here. Thanks a lot for dropping by!
