Wind Breaker (Anime) --- As amazing as the manga! <3

Review by @tegoshei · 679d · of Wind Breaker

Several months ago, I made a review of a manga and a webtoon that shares the same title... and that is ***Wind Breaker***. Then during spring, the anime version of the manga was released. As usual, I didn't watch it soon. I tend to binge-watch anime once they're completed.

In the first season of Wind Breaker, the main character Sakura decided to enter Furin High School. This school is particularly known as a school of deliquents. Students there only know how to fight and our MC aims to be on top.
However, once he arrived, he realized the school wasn't as he expected. Yes, the students indeed excel at brawling, but they do so in order to protect their town and all the people in the area. Instead of being the headache of society, they're regarded as heroes.
Sakura didn't want to be a hero, though. He just wants to fight his way to the top. Well, would he still think the same as he further immerse himself with the group? (We need more seasons to answer that... haha)

The first season somehow focused on Furin's interaction with Shishitoren (a delinquent gang). I really like this part of the manga, so seeing this animated made me excited. The fight scenes were so amusing and dramatic to watch. I'm a fan of Togame, so it made me extra happy. (I do have a lot of characters I love from this series, though).

Another thing I enjoyed when I read the manga was the facial expressions made by the characters ... and they really gave them life in the animated version. Sakura's blushing face, Nirei's idiotic face and Suo's conniving smile. (UGH!!!!)

I had high expectations of this anime especially because I really love the manga... and they didn't fail me.
Well, there's just one thing I dislike about this anime, though... Season one is too short... and they ended with a cliff-effin-hanger!!! Well, not that I don't know what happens next, but still... They're building the tension too much... (and I love it! hahaha)
It's refreshing to see action or shounen anime without the magical or supernatural aspect. Can't wait for the second season next year!!!
Also, the manga is still ongoing, but things are heating up more and more...
OK~ I think this has become a rant-slash-fangirl post rather than a proper review. Sorry about that...
I hope you give it a shot! See you around! (^^,)/

and they ended with a cliff-effin-hanger!!!

I do not like cliff hangers😔! I've seen so many reels and edits about this anime, I've gotten so many recommendation but I don't know something's stopping me from starting it,maybe it's probably because it ended at a cliff hanger? But I didn't know that till I just read your article so that makes no sense,I don't know I don't know,it seems extremely good and I'm getting some comments about it resembling toyko revengers and by the way,I didn't like that anime at all. Here's to hoping when I decide to watch wind breaker, it doesn't let me down the way Tokyo Revengers did. Amazing review as always! I always look forward to reading your stuffs!😍

Certainly, it's horrible to wait for each episode when an anime is airing. Let alone seasons. That's how I am with JJK, although I had to go read the manga because I can't stand the curiosity anymore. I had never heard of the manga you're talking about nor the anime, but it looks super interesting. I like the fights, and how the characters are drawn. I'll definitely put it on my list. I might have to read the manga though. Cheers.

What a coincidence, I was just planning to read this manga, it was recommended to me by several people. I didn't want to read too much to avoid spoilers haha. I liked the little I read, though. Greetings n.n

I agree with you, the 1st season is too short, in fact, the last chapter doesn't seem to have been cliffhanger as it usually is. However, this anime has been a gift this year, I loved it.

    Cheers!

Breaker is an anime I really enjoyed and I'm glad you liked it too. The way the characters develop and the fights are so exciting, it's hard not to get hooked! 👍

I'm looking forward to the second season of the anime. When I saw it during its broadcast, I really liked it even though I didn't expect anything from this work. I really loved not only the incredible animation quality it has and its soundtrack, but also the way they develop the characters and focus on expressing the feelings of the protagonist and others.

    Excellent post.

I liked the anime, it was fresh and the fights were animated like fire but the story was kind of probably not my age group vibe due to how ridiculous some parts seems or how I had to suspend disbelief often to watch it. It's good, not really top tier good for me but it's still good.
