Why the fuck should you watch “Titans”? • You like DC superhero movies because the darker tone. • You like Dick. • You are an emo and only watch stuff with emos in it. The more mental issues, the better! • You want to see Robin as a believable hero, and not the version where a 10 year old boy beats up criminals.
“Titans” is set in the same world where Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman live, but they won’t be the main characters. This is a series where you see grown-up Robin who’s name is Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) – he likes to beat people up…hard. No like – he just doesn’t care, fuck enemies. You’ll also see Rachel (Teagan Croft) who is basically a demon and a little bit of a gloomy teenage emo-girl. Then there are some normal characters too: a human-tiger and a sexy flamethrower.
The first episodes of the series surprised me, because they were well crafted, not formulatic and rather surprising if not spoiled by this very review. I told you at the beginning: don’t read this! Cliffhangers in the end of episodes were so good I had to skip sleeping for two nights and kept watching. In the middle of season there are also some mediocre episodes, but still ok and they offer some backstory to our characters who kill a lot of people during the first season. And it is quite a graphic killing. For sure it’s not for kids.
Marvel may have done better (a lot better) in Cinema but DC certainly has the upper hand in TV-series (Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Constantine, Gotham, Legends of Tomorrow, Doom Patrol). Let’s hope they can keep the second season fresh and go even further with the dark tone. That’s the DC’s strength.
If you give this one a chance, you might start liking Dick also.

Your superhero name could be “One Night Stander”. Because you would last maybe one night. Then go to prison or worse. • ENOUGH of this superhero shit! PLEASE make something else! • You like to think that Batman is a nice guy.
