Big Fish/El gran pez (Review/Reseña)

William Bloom is a man who grew up listening to absurd stories from his father Edward Bloom, who came to tell stories from a fantasy world, which made him hate him a little growing up for not telling him any truth. Now in his last days due to a heart disease, they make father and son meet and tell their last stories together.

William Bloom es un hombre que creció escuchando historias absurdas de su padre Edward Bloom, el cual llego a contar historias salidas de un mundo de fantasía, lo que hizo odiarlo un poco al crecer por no contarle ninguna verdad. Ahora en sus últimos días por una enfermedad en el corazón, hacen que padre e hijo se encuentren y cuenten sus ultimas historias juntos.

Big Fish is a movie that is seen everywhere, like one of Tim Burton's great movies, having some free time I chose to see it, to know how romantic it could be based on what I had seen in the media. The truth is, halfway through the movie I got bored, but the next half made me reach the end with tears in my eyes.

The story is mostly a story of father and son, not so much a love story as seen at first glance, I got bored waiting for the romance that was seen so much in the scenes that were shared in the media, but seeing it as a story of a father for making things more entertaining for a son, is sweeter and more tender.

My eyes filled with tears when I realized it at the end of the film, because that is the true purpose of the story, brotherly love towards a son seems to me something more unique since it is not reflected so much in the cinematographic world. The story is full of many emotions and scenarios, not surprising the budget they had to make it, even hiring actors who were known at the time, such as Danny deVito, Steve Buscemi, Missi Pyle and Albert Finney.

How at first everything looks like a colorful notebook of a child where nothing makes sense, the end is explained to us by the same child who drew everything connecting everything he did, it is ingenious, entertaining and magical. A story that was seen as a romantic one of a couple in love, turns out to be one of a son reconciling with his father only with his stories more than with his words, having a mutual agreement to love and forgive each other without the need to say it to each other, to me, that's Big Fish.

Big Fish es una película que se ve en todos lados, como una de las grandes películas de Tim Burton, teniendo un tiempo libre elegí verla, para saber que tan romántica podría ser según lo que había visto en los medios. La verdad es que, a la mitad de la película me aburrí, pero la siguiente mitad, hizo que llegara al final con lagrimas en los ojos.

La historia, es una historia de padre e hijo mayormente, no tanto una de amor como se ve a simple vista, llegue a aburrirme por esperar el romance que tanto se miraba en las escenas que se compartía en los medios, pero viéndolo como una historia de un padre por hacer las cosas más entretenidas para un hijo, es más dulce y tierno.

Los ojos se me llenaron de lagrimas al darme cuenta de ello al final de la película, por ser ese el verdadero propósito de la historia, el amor fraternal hacia un hijo me parece algo más único ya que no se plasma tanto en el mundo cinematográfico. La historia esta llena de muchas emociones y de escenarios, no sorprendiendo el presupuesto que tuvieron para hacerla, llegando a contratar actores que en su tiempo si eran conocidos, como Danny deVito, Steve Buscemi, Missi Pyle y Albert Finney.

El como en un principio todo se ve como un cuaderno colorido de un niño donde nada tiene sentido, el final nos lo explica el mismo niño que dibujo todo conectando todo lo que hizo, es ingenioso, entretenido y mágico. Una historia que se veía como una romántica de una pareja de enamorados, resulta ser una de un hijo reconciliándose con su padre solo con sus historias más que con sus palabras, teniendo un acuerdo mutuo de quererse y perdonarse sin la necesidad de decírselo entre ellos, para mí, eso es Big Fish.
