   Hoy amigos quiero hablarles de otra pelicula que ha mi en particular me sorprendio mucho su historia y su trama, y el final me impacto, les hablo de "El gran pez".

   "Big Fish" es otra película de Tim Burton, es una película de fantasía de 2003, que es una alusión a la historia de la vida y la mitificación del personaje del padre del protagonista, "Edward Bloom", la película tiene un tono fantástico y romántico, con toques surrealistas y también con mucho sentimiento. "Big Fish" es muy influenciada por la literatura del Sur de los Estados Unidos y los mitos y leyendas del Sur. Tim Burton decidió que la película debía tomar lugar en Alabama, en una ciudad inspirada en la historia de Eufaula, Alabama.

   El padre, Edward Bloom, está interpretado por "Ewan McGregor" y "Albert Finney", la madre, Sandra Bloom, está interpretada por "Jessica Lange", y el hijo, Will Bloom, está interpretado por "Billy Crudup", también, hay una gran lista de personajes secundarios, interpretados por actores como Helena Bonham Carter, Alison Lohman, Robert Guillaume, y Steve Buscemi.

   El director de "Big Fish" es Tim Burton, quien también es el productor ejecutivo, Tim Burton es conocido por su estilo único de fantasía y cine gótico.    Los efectos especiales de "Big Fish" son sorprendentes y son gracias a la colaboración de "Richard Zanuck y Graham Fisher". Hay un montón de efectos digitales para mostrar los fantásticos episodios de la vida de Edward Bloom. Por ejemplo, la ciudad del cielo, el lago gigante, y el tren volador. Para lograr todo esto, tuvieron que combinar efectos digitales y prácticos.

   "La cinta se estrenó en los Estados Unidos el 10 de diciembre de 2003. La película recibió una buena acogida por la crítica, pero tuvo un fracaso en taquilla. Aunque es considerada una película culto, muchas personas no la conocieron hasta que salió en DVD.

   "Big Fish" está basada en el libro homónimo de "Daniel Wallace". El libro se publicó en 1998 y es una historia sobre la relación entre un padre y su hijo. En el libro, el padre, Edward Bloom, es un anciano que le cuenta a su hijo, Will Bloom, las historias de su vida. Pero en el libro, muchas de las historias de Edward tienen un toque más irónico que en la película.

   "Es una película con un mensaje poderoso sobre la verdad, la memoria y la relación entre padre e hijo.    Edward does not invent stories, nor does he tell lies as his son William claims, he just spices up his speech and makes it more interesting, just as we ourselves do when we place more emphasis on a particular detail when telling a story, thus giving more importance to a person, garment or object.    William does not see his father's stories as his version of the truth, for him they are all fantasies that he told him when he was a child and that he now repeats at all times, thus fleeing from reality and from himself.

   In this story the fish is a metaphor for the protagonist and his way of life, Edward states that he had problems with his height because he could not stop growing and because of that he had to be confined to a bed for three years.

   Edward Bloom concludes that the same thing happens to him as with a type of fish he learned about from an encyclopedia: the animal increases in size depending on its environment. If it lives in a large environment, its body grows, but if it lives in a smaller place, its size does not increase. Because of this, the protagonist claims that he is made to do great things, embracing the role of Big Fish.

   William was always bothered by his father's stories, he always asked him to tell him the truth, he suspected him of having another secret family, so he goes through his things and his letters. A possible love relation of his father, (Jenny), tells him that Edward was a good person, that he helped his people a lot, that he rejected his relationship proposal and also comments that for his father there are two types of women, his wife Sandra and all the others.

   William returns home to his father in the hospital and tells him a story about how they both run away from the hospital and go to the river, where they meet all the people he has known in his life, they get into the river and Edward turns into a fish and says "the story of my life" and dies.

   At the funeral Will sees his father's friends, the same ones who were present in his stories, Will explains that his father became his same stories that he narrated all his life and will continue to live in them.

   The film demonstrates how the death of a parent changes not only the individual himself, but also the individual's conception of his or her parent. William finds himself throughout the film trying to discover who his father really is, and realizes that he already knew him and that all those fantasies he told him are nothing more than the truth of his father Edward.

   Imagination and fantasy represent two of the important themes in the plot, although the fantasy reaches the point of magical realism, making this one of Tim Burton's most luminous films.

   I relate this film to spring since most of the stories it deals with are presented in sunny days with greening plants in a season associated with rebirth, joy and youth. In this film, the colors and flowers, mean so much that inevitably, we are transported to this season of the year.

   At the end of the film, the love story of father and son is elevated to heights of emotion, genius and tenderness rarely seen on screen. At the same time, it brings pure meaning and complete coherence to all the chaotic and disorganized events we have witnessed. It is not difficult to shed at least a tear for the extreme emotions presented to us in the last minutes of the film.

   When Edward dies, he reincarnates as the great fish, and he will always be remembered and will be alive because of those stories that William will pass on to his son. Even during his funeral the day shines and everyone celebrates Edward's life.

   Many times our parents tell us exaggerated stories that we find hard to believe, but they do this in order for us to learn something in an entertaining way, and beyond the incredible we must stay with the teaching, what would I have given to have a father who loved me? I will tell stories like this, I did not have a father and I was raised with many sacrifices by my mother and my aunts.

   Now as a father, I confess that I have told exaggerated stories to my daughter, but with the intention of being heard and that she understands my point of view, I hope to be remembered for my good deeds and stories full of humor and teaching, that is the best way to transcend.

   Las historias de Edward eran increíbles, narraba con total naturalidad datos surrealistas de su niñez y también de su adultez, ejemplo cuando conoció a un gigante y consiguió un trabajo en un circo que era dirigido por un hombre lobo, también contaba la forma tan romántica e increíble en que conoció a su esposa, las escenas eran dignas de una película valga la redundancia, pues cuando se separó de su amada al ser reclutado para la guerra, escapó gracias a unas siamesas asiáticas y luego fue dado por muerto, hasta que por fin logró regresar a casa , todas estas cosas en lugar de maravillar a su hijo Will lo alejaban.

   Me gusta esta película porque mi papá quien era un hombre mayor, siempre me contaba historia increíbles de su infancia en el campo, me decía que empezó a trabajar a los 4 años , que tuvo una infancia difícil pero llena de venturas, para el era normal contar cosas que para mí eran muy fantasiosas pero yo no dudaba de la palabra de mi papá, una vez me contó que su hermana vió un duende, según me contó se decía que los duendes le gustaban raptar a los niños y no había que darles la espalda, también me contaba historias de su vida adulta que para mí eran sumamente asombrosas, por ejemplo me contó como salvó a su hermana de una serpiente que se había enrollado cerca de su hamaca, ya saben ese tipo de historias que las personas mayores cuentan una y otra vez hasta que uno llega un punto en que a veces se siente un poco aburrido porque ya sabe las historias de memoria.

   We are the creators of our reality, masters of our lives and as such we must be true to ourselves, we should not give importance to what others say, what is truth or lie. We spend our lives questioning what other people do and say; doubting their words, but what if everything were true? What if the rest of the world is the one who is wrong and I am wrong.

   The first time I saw The Big Fish, it reminded me of my mother because she had a very creative mind and told me some amazing stories. Her experiences when she was a child and went on vacation with her brothers and cousins to the town of Uquire and Macuro, to her aunts' house. My favorite was when she told me about her friend Endrina, the little mermaid who played with her and she told her stories about the seven seas. The one that scared me the most was the one about the evil being they saw on the river bank.

   I laughed so much, at the same time I was amazed and she only told me Beckyta: "the world is so immense and there are creatures of many species out there, we just don't have to name them so as not to bring them into our lives". Years later, talking to one of her cousins who came to visit on vacation, I intrepidly asked her, and she said, "we promised never to talk about it again, I don't know why your mom told them. Don't name that thing cousin."

   After my mother left us I felt helpless, but then I understood that she would never abandon me and I decided to write about these stories that I knew from hearing them so much, and that I always questioned. I reflected and wondered why I questioned her so much and laughed at her stories. To me they couldn't have been real, it was so unusual. But what if they were not stories, they really happened to her and were not the product of her imagination as a child.

   I understood that human beings create their world and defend it, above all, because it is the only thing they have and it is worthwhile. Even when they call them crazy, dreamers and tell them to get off the cloud. They will never stop dreaming and this is the questionable thing about life: true or false? Only we know. I have seen the movie "The Big Fish" several times and it is curious because I always find a detail that I had not noticed, perhaps because of the variety of characters.

   In this drama and fantasy film, many conflicts of human beings are presented, being for me one of the most relevant the theme of the trauma of children who are abandoned by their parents. No matter what the reasons may have been, there will always be within the heart of a child the dilemma and the question: Why? The first years of childhood, although many do not accept it, are the most difficult and children need to feel loved and protected, it is here where the character and aptitude of people are formed.

   Will is looking for an answer because he still can't understand what happened and thinks that this will affect his attitude towards his future as a father. The last days with his father are difficult, on the one hand, accompanying him at the end of his journey through life is very intense. On the other hand, hearing his amazing stories, to which he does not give importance because he considers them all lies of his father, makes Will revive his traumas and resentments. All human beings at some point in our lives question and reflect on the decisions and paths we have taken.

   In 2003 "The Big Fish" was released under the direction of the American Tim Burton, who has a great trajectory in cinema and who directed very famous films such as Batman, the famous bat-man. This film lasts approximately 126 minutes, of magical realism, fantasy and adventures. It also contains many symbolisms that make us question life and make us ask ourselves: is this the life I want? Am I happy? or, on the contrary, we regret not having had the audacity to venture for fear of failure and what people will say.

   Most fail to take a step out of their comfort zone, even knowing that they can succeed in life because they have skills and abilities, but the fear of failure paralyzes them. Only a minority like Edward Bloom manages to discover that his fishbowl or world is too small for him, and he goes far away in search of the immensity of the sea. He ventures out, lives his life and is happy. Perhaps for many a selfish attitude, but in reality it is the only thing we take with us from this life that we have lived.

   The two British actors who played Edward Bloom, are very charismatic, for me their performances deserved Oscars. Albert Finney is the first time I enjoy one of his characters in the movies, I liked his penetrating look and nice smile when telling his stories to Will's wife. On the other hand, Ewan McGregor is one of my favorite actors, I declare myself his fan and I love his character of Obi-Wan Kenobi, who on the planet does not know this character from Star Wars?

   The interpretation of American Billy Crudup as William Bloom, made an impact on me. The internal conflicts of this character made me confirm that children who do not receive love and feel abandoned, then are individuals who find it difficult to adapt to society, have a partner and a family. However, he sought answers to heal his wounds and try to be a better person and father to his son. Not wanting to replicate what his father did to him is one of Will's most beautiful attitudes.

Many times we waste time questioning, trying to influence and opposing what others want.

   Time is valuable for us and we should not waste it, we have to get rid of the chip in our minds, to believe that everyone who does not think and see the world as we see it is different. Everyone has the right to think, give their opinion, dream and live their life in their own way. On the contrary, you have to get used to not questioning or doubting and to celebrate your achievements. If you feel that your world is too small for you, find another one where you are comfortable and dare like Edward Bloom.

Pasamos la vida cuestionando lo que hacen y dicen otras personas; dudando de sus palabras, pero y si todo fuera cierto. Y si el resto del mundo es el que está equivocado y yo también.

   La primera vez que vi El gran Pez, me hizo recordar a mi madre porque ella tenía una mente muy creativa y me contaba unas historias asombrosas. Sus vivencias cuando era niña e iba de vacaciones con sus hermanos y primos a la población de Uquire y Macuro, a casa de sus tías. Mi preferida era cuando me hablaba de su amiguita Endrina, la sirenita que jugaba con ella y ella le narraba sus historias por los siete mares. La que más me daba miedo era la del ser maligno que vieron en la orilla del río.

   Me reía tanto, a la vez me asombraba y ella solo me decía Beckyta: “el mundo es tan inmenso y hay criaturas de muchas especies por ahí, solo no hay que nombrarlas para no traerlas a nuestra vida”. Años después, conversando con uno de sus primos que vino de visita de vacaciones, de intrépida le pregunte, y me dijo: “prometimos no volver a hablar nunca más de eso, no sé por qué tu mamá se los dijo. No nombres esa cosa prima.”

   Después que mi madre nos dejó me sentí desvalida, pero luego entendí que ella nunca me abandonaría y decidí escribir sobre estas historias que yo conocía de tanto oírlas, y que siempre cuestione. Reflexionaba y me preguntaba por qué la cuestione tanto y me reía de sus cuentos. Para mí no podían haber sido reales, era algo muy insólito. Pero y si no eran cuentos, en realidad le sucedió y no eran producto de su imaginación de una niña.

   Entendí que el ser humano crea su mundo y lo defiende, ante todo, porque es lo único que tiene y vale la pena. Aun cuando los llamen locos, soñadores y les digan que se bajen de la nube. Nunca dejarán de soñar y esto es lo cuestionable de la vida: ¿verdad o mentira? Solo nosotros lo sabemos. La película “El gran pez” la he visto varias veces y es curioso porque siempre encuentro un detalle del cual no me había percatado, quizás por la variedad de personajes.

   En este filme de drama y fantasía, se presentan muchos conflictos de los seres humanos, siendo para mí uno de los más relevantes el tema del trauma de los hijos que son abandonados por sus padres. Sin importar los motivos que hayan sido, siempre habrá dentro del corazón de un hijo la disyuntiva y la pregunta: ¿Por qué? Los primeros años de infancia, aunque muchos no lo acepten, son los más difíciles y los niños necesitan sentirse amados y protegidos, es aquí donde se forman el carácter y aptitud de las personas.

   Will busca respuesta porque todavía no logra entender qué paso y piensa que esto lo afectara en su actitud ante su futuro como padre. Los últimos días con su padre son difíciles, por un lado, acompañarlo al final de su tránsito por la vida es muy intenso. Por otro lado, oír sus historias asombrosas, a las cuales no les da importancia por considerarlas todas mentiras de su padre, hace que en Will revivan sus traumas y rencores. Todos los seres humanos en algún momento de nuestra vida nos cuestionamos y reflexionamos sobre las decisiones y caminos que hemos tomado.

   En el año 2003 se estrenó “El gran pez”, estuvo bajo la dirección del estadounidense Tim Burton, el cual tiene una gran trayectoria en el cine y que dirigió películas muy famosas como Batman, el famoso hombre murciélago. Este filme dura aproximadamente 126 minutos, de realismo mágico, la fantasía y aventuras. También de muchos simbolismos que hacen cuestionar la vida y que nos hacen preguntarnos: ¿esta es la vida que deseo? ¿Soy feliz?, o, por el contrario, nos arrepentimos de no haber tenido la osadía de aventurarnos por miedo al fracaso y al que dirán.

   La mayoría no logra dar un paso por salir de su zona de confort, aun sabiendo que puede triunfar en la vida porque tiene habilidades y destrezas, pero el miedo al fracaso los paraliza. Solo una minoría como Edward Bloom logra descubrir que su pecera o mundo le queda pequeña, y se va muy lejos buscando la inmensidad del mar. Se aventura, vive su vida y es feliz. Quizás para muchos una actitud egoísta, pero en realidad es lo único que nos llevamos de esta vida lo que hemos vivido.

   Los dos actores británicos que interpretaron a Edward Bloom, son muy carismáticos, para mí sus actuaciones merecían Óscar. De Albert Finney es la primera vez que disfruto de uno de sus personajes en el cine, me gusto su mirada penetrante y linda sonrisa al contar sus historias a la esposa de Will. Por el contrario, Ewan McGregor es uno de mis actores preferidos, me declaro su fan y amo su personaje de Obi-Wan Kenobi. ¿Quién no conoce en el planeta a este personaje de la guerra de las galaxias?

   La interpretación de estadounidense Billy Crudup como William Bloom, me impacto. Los conflictos internos de este personaje me hicieron confirmar que los niños que no reciben amor y se sienten abandonados, luego son individuos que les cuesta adaptarse a la sociedad, tener pareja y una familia. Sin embargo, él buscó respuestas para cerrar sus heridas y tratar de ser mejor persona y un padre para su hijo. El no querer replicar lo que le hizo su padre es una de las actitudes más lindas de Will.

   Amigos, nada nos debe detener del camino que hemos trazado por cumplir nuestros sueños, por muy locos y fantasiosos que sean, si eso es lo que nos va a hacer felices. Todo lo que hacemos por nosotros siempre vale la pena, es nuestra misión en este planeta. Es un ciclo, luego nuestros hijos harán su vida y así las futuras generaciones. Muchas veces perdemos el tiempo cuestionando, tratando de influir y oponiéndonos en lo que desean los demás.

   El tiempo es valioso para nosotros y no debemos desperdiciarlo, hay que quitarse el chip de la mente, de creer que todo el que no piensa y ve el mundo como lo vemos nosotros es diferente. Todos tienen derecho a pensar, opinar, soñar y vivir su la vida a su manera. Por el contrario, hay que acostumbrarse a no cuestionar ni dudar y celebrar sus logros. Si sientes que tu mundo te queda pequeño, busca otro donde estés cómodo y atrévete como Edward Bloom.

   Amigos de la Comunidad de #Movies&Shows, les digo que no todo es producto de la imaginación, a veces suceden cosas inexplicables que pasan desapercibidas, pero puede ser que las observemos; no le damos credibilidad porque no creemos ni siquiera en nosotros mismos y preferimos negarlo para no salir de nuestro letargo y zona de confort ¿por qué afirmar que no es verdad?, yo he visto hadas y por eso no estoy loca y ni lo invente, éramos cuatro personas esa noche y ha sido una de las experiencias más maravillosas de mi vida.

   Esta es otra historia, les recomiendo ver y disfrutar del filme El gran pez; acompañe a Edward Bloom en su viaje por un mundo interesante y lleno de magia, ¿Realidad o fantasía?, ¿Humano o pez? No se les ocurra dejar colgados sus zapatos en la entrada de pueblo Spectre.

   Tim Burton is Tim Burton. One signature, one genre. Stories always halfway between dark tones and technicolor, reality and fantasy, life and dream. Realistic fairy tales or fantastic realities, if you prefer, Burton's 'tales' always have a bittersweet aftertaste, capable of making you smile and move at the same time. Big Fish does not contradict itself. Already the poster brings to mind both the tree of life and that of an enchanted forest.

   In this sort of limbo, the protagonists are often ordinary men: those who are afraid of growing up or who do not want to. Men like Edward Bloom more than ever determined to tell (and to tell himself) about an extraordinary life that is not his own, but that he would have liked so much to be, if only he had lived up to it! And so, we end up compensating for the gaps in reality with our imagination.

   The story tells of Edward Bloom, when he was young, driven by his adventurous spirit, he embarked on a fantastic journey that took him from his small town in Alabama to incredible worlds. Now Edward is old and everyone knows him as a narrator of fantastic and absurd stories but they listen with attention and wonder. All except his son William, who has moved away from his family and especially from his father. Sandra, Edward's wife, has decided that it is time for father and son to reconnect their lost relationships, but it is not easy, also because William has to deal with his father's heroic deeds as well as with his great weaknesses.

   One disguises oneself as supermen so as not to admit that he has failed as 'normal' men, as husbands, as fathers, but then to discover how special he is, in any case, each one in his own way. And once we reach our destination, it will no longer matter who we were or who we wanted to be, the important thing is that there is someone who tells us how our story will end, because in any case, it will have been incredible and extraordinary: 'an adventure as big as life itself '.

   The film received an excellent response from international critics, also appreciated by viewers with a vote of 8/10 on the IMDB platform. The soundtrack was nominated for an Oscar, a jewel to listen to carefully, with dark shades, in the style of the director and the plot of the film. Certainly not a simple film in its plot and full of many food for thought, although it may seem a partly science fiction film.

   Tim Burton è Tim Burton. Una firma, un genere. Storie sempre a metà strada tra toni cupi e technicolor, realtà e fantasia, vita e sogno. Fiabe realistiche o realtà fantastiche, che dir si voglia, i ‘racconti’ di Burton hanno sempre un retrogusto dolceamaro, capaci di far sorridere e commuovere al tempo stesso. “Big Fish” non si smentisce. Già la locandina riporta alla mente tanto l’albero della vita quanto quello di un bosco incantato.

   In questa sorta di limbo, protagonisti, spesso, sono uomini comuni: quelli che hanno paura di crescere o che non vogliono farlo. Uomini come Edward Bloom più che mai deciso a raccontare (e a raccontarsi) di un vita straordinaria che non è la sua, ma che avrebbe tanto voluto che lo fosse, se solo ne fosse stato all’altezza! E così, si finisce col compensare con l’immaginazione le lacune della realtà.

   La storia narra di Edward Bloom, da giovane, spinto dal suo spirito avventuriero, ha intrapreso un viaggio fantastico che lo ha portato dal suo paesino in Alabama verso mondi incredibili. Ora Edward è vecchio e tutti lo conoscono come narratore di storie fantastiche e assurde che però ascoltano con attenzione e meraviglia. Tutti tranne suo figlio William, che si è allontanato dalla famiglia e soprattutto da suo padre. Sandra, la moglie di Edward, ha deciso che è tempo per padre e figlio di riallacciare i rapporti perduti, ma non è facile, anche perché William deve fare i conti con le gesta eroiche del padre così come con le sue grandi debolezze.

   Ci si maschera da superuomini per non ammettere di aver fallito come uomini ‘normali’, come mariti, come padri, ma poi scoprire che speciali lo si è, in ogni caso, ognuno a suo modo. E una volta giunti a destinazione, non importerà più chi si è stati o chi avremmo voluto essere, l’importante è che ci sia qualcuno che ci racconti come finirà la nostra storia, perché ad ogni modo, sarà stata incredibile e straordinaria: ‘an adventure as big as life itself’.

   Il film ha ricevuto un ottimo riscontro da parte della critica internazionale, appezzato anche dagli spettatori con un voto pari ad 8/10 sulla piattaforma IMDB. La colonna sonora è stata candidata agli oscar, un gioiello da ascoltare con attenzione, con sfumature tenebrose, nello stile del regista e della trama del film. Sicuramente un film non semplice nella sua trama e colma di moltissimi spunti di riflessione, sebbene possa sembrare un film in parte di fantascienza.

   Una película de Tim Burton

   Tim Burton se ha caracterizado por dirigir y realizar películas raras, con personajes extraños, sombríos y encantadores, pesadillas conmovedoras en muchos casos con Johnny Depp y Helena Bonham Carter, esposa de Burton. Todos recordamos a Edward manos de tijeras, Beetlejuice, o dramas como Big eyes y Sleepy Hollow. Su estilo es único y aunque no es uno de mis directores predilectos, una de sus películas es de mis favoritas de todos los tiempos.

   Big Fish (El Gran Pez) es una película de 2003 que se centra en la relación entre William Bloom (Billy Crudup) y su padre Edward (Albert Finney), que pasó de la admiración cuando era niño al fastidio ahora que ya es adulto porque su papá es un legítimo storyteller y la mayoría de sus historias están cargadas de fantasía. Para William era divertido, siendo niño, escuchar sobre gigantes, brujas, aventuras, misiones peligrosas en la guerra y circos, pero ahora que ya es grande siente que no conoce a su padre y lo culpa de ello por haber contado tantas tonterías y no haberle dado un relato real de su vida. Sin embargo, aunque no se hablaron durante algunos años, ahora William viaja de París a EEUU para acompañar a sus padres, ya que Edward está gravemente enfermo y ante la posibilidad de perderlo, Will decide hacer las pases y ver si puede desentrañar algo de verdad entre tantas aventuras fantásticas.

   Al principio, tiene que escuchar las interminables historias de la juventud de su padre que se las cuenta a Joséphine (Marion Cotillard), la esposa embarazada de Will, pero poco a poco, a través de charlas con su madre, o la limpieza de un cobertizo lleno de trastes, el hijo se va dando cuenta de que si bien no todas las historias de su padre eran posibles, sí podían tener partes de verdad.

   La película logra equilibrar de buena forma las diferentes emociones que despierta. Por un lado está la parte más real y dramática, con tristeza y llanto: el padre de William en sus últimos días, las lágrimas de la madre, conversaciones entre Joséphine y su esposo, la línea de tiempo actual en la que arranca la película. Por el otro, se narran las aventuras de Edward Bloom desde la infancia y la adolescencia hasta que se convirtió en un hombre demasiado ambicioso para su pequeño pueblo. Ya sea que William lo esté recordando, o que su padre lo esté contando a alguien más, lo vemos cruzar senderos tenebrosos, visitar la casa de una bruja, entablar amistad con un gigante, trabajar en un circo, ir a la guerra, viajar por el país vendiendo mercancía y un sinfín de historias más, a cada cual más exagerada, divertida y fantasiosa, que nos provocan risas, sonrisas, asombro y suspiros, porque también hay espacio para el romance.

   Dentro de la gran trama que cuenta la película, se puede hablar de pequeñas subtramas que la conforman y la historia de amor entre Edward Bloom y su esposa Sandra es una de las más bonitas que recuerdo. Una de las escenas más memorables es cuando la chica se asoma a la ventana y ve a su pretendiente en medio de un campo de sus flores favoritas. A ello se suman el repertorio de personajes variopintos y el talento de actores como Jessica Lange, Alison Lohman, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Buscemi, Danny DeVito y una niña que aparece durante pocos minutos, pero en quién reconocemos a la futura intérprete de temas como Party in the U.S.A. y The climb.

   La película provoca mil emociones diferentes y tiene de todo un poco, pero yo diría que hay dos temas principales: la relación padre-hijo, con sus altibajos, diferencias, semejanzas muchas veces insospechadas o involuntarias; y el poder de las historias, la magia de las palabras y el arte de contarlas:

   “Un hombre cuenta sus historias tantas veces que al final él mismo se convierte en esas historias. Siguen viviendo cuando él ya no está. De esta forma, el hombre se hace inmortal.”

   Ni qué decir de la gran cantidad de reflexiones que se pueden desprender de algunas frases contenidas en el guión de John August, basado en la novela de Daniel Wallace. Big Fish es una película de 9/10 puntos, enternecedora, conmovedora, dramática, divertida, romántica, exagerada, memorable, menos gótica que otros trabajos de Tim Burton, pero a mi parecer con un nivel de calidad por encima de las demás y con una secuencia final bastante emotiva que deja su estela cuando ya se han acabado los créditos. Es, en una palabra, una historia inolvidable. Si aún no la han visto, pónganla entre las primeras de su lista y aprovechen que se encuentra disponible en Netflix, estoy seguro de que no se arrepentirán de verla.
