    fuente/www.jpc.de

Hello and good morning friends of the community, I hope you are well today I am very happy to share with you again the critical review and opinion of the animated film titled "Coco".

"Coco" was directed by Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina, it is an animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released in 2017.

The story focuses on Miguel, a young boy of Mexican origin who dreams of becoming a musician despite his family's prohibition of music, due to a traumatic family history.

The plot takes place on the Day of the Dead, a deep and moving celebration of Mexican culture, and delves into the world of the dead, where Miguel searches for the truth about his family and their connection to music.

    Narrative and Themes

The narrative of "Coco" is rich and multifaceted. Through Miguel's journey into the world of the dead, the film addresses universal themes such as identity, memory, family and love. Miguel's quest to discover his roots and his passion for music is intertwined with a tribute to Mexican culture, bringing traditions and mythologies to life in a vibrant and emotional way.

One of the film's highlights is its treatment of the Day of the Dead. "Coco" not only presents this holiday as a context, but explores it in depth, highlighting its meaning and symbolism. The way the film portrays the connection between the living and the dead offers a unique and poignant perspective on loss and memory.

    Visuals and Music

From a visual standpoint, "Coco" is a delight for the senses. The animation is stunning, with brilliant use of vibrant colors that evoke the joy and cultural richness of Mexico. The settings, from Miguel's home to the land of the dead, are meticulously crafted, immersing the viewer in a captivating visual experience.

Music also plays a pivotal role in "Coco." The songs, especially "Remember Me," are emotional and memorable, perfectly complementing the narrative. The soundtrack manages to capture the essence of Mexican culture and the emotions of the characters, enveloping the viewer in the experience.

    Cultural Representation

"Coco" has been praised for its cultural representation and respectful approach to Mexican traditions. The film features a mostly Hispanic cast and celebrates Mexican culture in an authentic and meaningful way. However, there has also been criticism about the need for more creative control by Mexican collaborators to ensure an even more accurate and rich representation of the culture.

    Personal Opinion

In my opinion, "Coco" is a masterpiece of animation that not only entertains, but also educates and emotionally connects with audiences. Its ability to address complex issues in an accessible and moving way is admirable. The film celebrates family traditions and the importance of remembering those who have departed, resonating with all who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

The focus on Mexican culture and the way it is intertwined with the main narrative is a clear example of the diversity that can be found in contemporary animation. "Coco" is not just a story about music; it is a celebration of life, family and legacy, making this film an important reference both in animated cinema and in cultural understanding.

    Some Highlights of "Coco"

    Cast

One of the most outstanding aspects of "Coco" is its remarkable cast, which not only includes a talented cast, but is also characterized by its diversity and cultural authenticity. Here are some of the actors and their respective characters:

    1. Anthony Gonzalez as Miguel Rivera: The young protagonist, a boy passionate about music who is searching for his place in the world. Gonzalez, with his acting and voice, manages to convey the emotions of his character in a moving way.

    2. Gael García Bernal as Héctor: Héctor is a spirit in the world of the dead who helps Miguel in his search. García Bernal's performance adds depth and charisma to the character, making him a favorite with the public.

    3. Benjamin Bratt as Ernesto de la Cruz: A famous musician from the past, whose legacy is central to the story. Bratt brings an air of elegance and complexity to the role, being both captivating and enigmatic.

    4. Renee Victor as Abuelita: Miguel's grandmother, who represents family traditions and love for family. Her performance is authentic and nuanced, highlighting the importance of family relationships in the film.

    5. Ana Ofelia Murguía as Mamá Coco: Miguel's great-grandmother, whose health and memory are crucial emotional elements in the plot. Murguía conveys a deep sweetness and nostalgia, creating a strong emotional bond with the audience.

    6. Alanna Ubach as Miguel's mom (Imelda Rivera): Imelda, also known for her strict stance towards music, is a pivotal character who faces the dilemma between family love and traditions. Ubach's performance is passionate and powerful.

    Cultural Authenticity

Beyond the actors' individual talent, the aftermath of "Coco" has been hailed for its focus on cultural authenticity. The majority of the cast is of Mexican or Latin American descent, which brings a deeper and more respectful dimension to the film's representation of culture. Choosing a cast that reflects the diversity of contemporary Mexico also highlights Pixar's commitment to telling stories that resonate:

    • Eleanor Wheeler and other voice actors also contribute supporting characters that enrich the narrative and add nuance to the main story.

    Musical Participation

The cast doesn't just stand out in their voice acting; several of them also participated in the musical performances. For example, the song "Remember Me" is sung by different characters, and Anthony Gonzalez's voice adds to the film's emotional score.

    Thanks to Mexican Culture

Finally, the cast of "Coco" has also been recognized for its role in celebrating and respecting Mexico's rich cultural heritage, including the representation of traditions, values, and the connection to the Day of the Dead. This comprehensive approach helps make "Coco" a work that reveres its roots, making it an example of how animated film can be inclusive and representative.

    Conclusion

"Coco" stands out as a film that transcends the barrier of children's animation, offering a powerful message and a meaningful representation of culture. With its stunning animation, emotional music and rich narrative, "Coco" becomes a modern classic that will endure over time, inviting diverse generations to reflect on what family and memory mean in our lives.

I don't understand why I hadn't reviewed this film and I realised it recently while watching it again since I sometimes dedicate myself to watching Disney classics, and suddenly I came across Coco and I didn't hesitate to watch it a second time. I have no doubt that this gem will also become a classic as the years go by because of all the richness it preserves, not only on an audiovisual level but also culturally and above all in the lessons it offers for all families.

    Overview/Resumen

Miguel is a boy with a free spirit, although he comes from a family dedicated to the manufacture of shoes, he wants to be a musician and singer like his great idol, Ernesto de la Cruz, a singer and actor who died years ago but his public continued to remember him with great affection. On the day of the dead all Mexican families gather to honour and remember their deceased relatives, so Miguel goes to the cemetery to remember his idol but something strange happens, somehow he ends up becoming part of the world of the dead where he meets Hector and his story, which is closely linked to the history of Miguel's family, so now the boy will have the mission to return to the world of the living and make them not forget Hector because only this way he will avoid the final death.

    My Opinion/Mi Opinión

There are many things I would like to mention here, but the first and most important of all is that I consider this to be a good inclusion, not the forced inclusion that Disney wants us to "get used to" lately, in Coco no one is supplanting other characters or trying to sell us the idea that a character can change race or culture out of nowhere, No, the production team built an original story based on one of the richest cultures in Latin America, the Mexican culture with all its details, down to the smallest, that's why we can see on screen the shells and the pan de muerto that is consumed in Mexico on those dates, and the precious cut paper and the famous cempasúchil flowers that are used to decorate the altars. This film makes even people like me, who are not Mexican, proud because it highlights Latin American culture in general.

Another thing I liked was that even in the English version they used many Spanish words, so with this simple gesture the Latin community living far away from their respective countries felt flattered. But beyond all this, which is very important, we also have the story as such, a beautiful story that gives us many valuable lessons, first of all the value of family, what it means to us and how much we need their support, we also have the importance of fighting for our dreams, to believe in ourselves and our abilities, and also that we should not underestimate the help of anyone, no matter how small it may seem to us, for example Dante, the xoloitzcuintle dog was fulfilling his duty as a spiritual guide but sometimes Miguel underestimated him, and finally but I think the most important of all is that this film represented perfectly what the celebration of the Day of the Dead means for Mexican families, it taught us to see it with joy, it also teaches us to see death as part of life, that there is also a place where our loved ones who have passed away are and that they also continue to live as long as we remember them.

I loved the cameo of famous dead Mexican icons of Mexican culture, such as Mario Moreno Cantinflas (actor), Santos el enmascarado de plata (lucha libre wrestler) Emiliano Zapata (revolutionary leader) and Frida Khalo (plastic artist), as well as the reference to Pedro Infante (singer and actor) in the villainous character Ernesto de la Cruz.

As for the soundtrack, Wow! it was a wonderful cocktail of Mexican rhythms, the band music and the mariachis of course, is a delight to the ears, my favourite being "Llorona" performed by Tia Imelda and Ernesto de la cruz whose Spanish voices are provided by Angelica Vale and Marco Antonio Solis respectively.

And how can we forget the iconic scene where Miguel tries to make Mama Coco remember his father Héctor, it is one of the saddest and most beautiful scenes but it ends with a happy ending, it is a clear reference to Alzheimer's and senile dementia and how sad it is to see a family member suffering from these diseases, but love and family unity can break any barrier.

  3. My opinion about the movie "Coco"@ismaca955d
    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=893369)

Can a film be called a masterpiece simply because of its subject matter or popularity?

Let me explain: when I saw Coco for the first time I expected an emotional, 100% original film, similar to The Incredibles, Toy Story or Monsters, Inc, but when I analysed it I found that it was full of narrative clichés:

    1. Kids who want to realise their dreams at the expense of their family.

    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=893369)

    2. A key character in the plot who is always by the protagonist's side.

    3. The character was dying and was saved at the last second.

    4. A mother who finally learns from her mistakes and becomes more understanding of her family.

    5. The good guys turn out to be bad guys in the end.

I won't deny that the animation and Mexican representation is excellent, but in terms of plot and narrative, Coco is way behind (in my opinion).

Hello dear Hive community, I hope you are doing well. Today I come with the pleasure of giving you a review about Coco since it is one of my favorite movies and I am nostalgic and I have seen it three times this last week.

We are in times that generally most people have in their thoughts their loved ones for this time of year where the dead are commemorated in different parts of the world, so many times movies like Coco is a great way to celebrate these dates which are important for those who miss our loved ones, as it is not only a movie that shows how nice it is to remember what is no longer there, but that family matters in all areas of life.

I want to be very objective, but it would be a lie if I say that I am not moved with the feelings that the movie generates me this last year, Pixar has always created movies that have questioned me many things one of them is Soul that came at a time in my life that I needed it Coco came long ago and stayed in my heart but since losing my grandmother has grabbed a more intimate meaning for me hope to see her again I have even with the comforting message that the last death is oblivion and is that while it makes me live she will always be remembered by someone I love her very much here on earth.

Well, without any sentimintalisni we know that in this film we see the development of a Mexican boy who is from a family of shoemakers who do not want to know anything about music by a tragedy of their ancestors (which are already dead) Miguelito loves music but unfortunately is in a family that does not support his dreams and even breaks the materialization of it (what you saw the movie understand) which hurts his feelings making him in a very brave way tried to pursue his dream falling into a dream of the dead.

The part of the world of the dead is my favorite and aesthetically it is very well elaborated in a very colorful way, which identifies the festivity in Mexico and the famous catrinas tank, you can see the makeup on the part of the deceased (little details) on the other hand it gives hope in a very nice way that we really meet them that day and also in a funny way it resembles the earthly world.

Of course his music. Can you deny how beautiful the songs are? Miguel's voice at least in Spanish as the other characters singing is very beautiful I really enjoy watching those scenes plus I crumple the song with the lyrics, I'm still a super strong tear jerker with Recuérdame without a doubt my favorite song of the whole movie.

The little details are very nice, the alebrijes colored spiritual guides is a detail that maybe before I did not give much meaning but since I have my pets my heart is enlarged with it not to mention that it also reminds me that they visit us on October 27, Another little detail that I like is that even though Coco almost doesn't appear in the scene she is a fundamental part of the connection between the two worlds and above all she is the reminder that in this life what remains are the memories (living a life this long and seeing your loved ones die and remembering those who are no longer there must not be easy) and Coco is the one who is there for her family and I don't deny that she reminds me a lot of my nonita and that made me pay more attention to her character. This is my humble opinion, I hope you like the movie and if by any chance you haven't seen it. Please do, we'll read each other soon.

This is my humble opinion, the images have their respective source. See you soon.

  5. Coco, for my concept the best - Cine TV Contest #70 - Favorite Children's Cartoon@andreseloy5811070d

    image.png Image

Although I sometimes doubt that this movie is for children, my kids enjoyed it as much or more than I did when we saw it in the theater.

The celebration of the night of the dead in Mexico is apotheosic and the characters undoubtedly capture the viewer's attention, both for their actions and for what they represent within the family.

The music is undoubtedly an element that gives the plot more than enough reasons to delight us, as the protagonist, a twelve year old boy named Miguel Rivera dreams of emulating his deceased idol Ernesto de la Cruz, but his mother refuses to allow this to become a reality.

For this reason, going to the world of the dead will be an opportunity to learn secrets that will change everyone's life.

The boy's participation in the local music contest turns out to be an adventure in the face of the obstacles that his grandmother Elena puts in his way.

The film is full of feelings, noble actions and structural changes in the script that lead the audience from laughter to tears.

Undoubtedly Coco, the name of the grandmother of the young man who waits for a certain moment to go to accompany his family in the other world, is a film to watch many times, especially for those of us who are not Mexican and are not familiar with the rites of that country.

For me it is the best option in a long time in the range of children's films.

Coco is a very emotional film, which shows us the beautiful tradition that Mexicans have with their relatives who are no longer in this world, they see death in such a beautiful way that it even stops being scary.

I am very afraid to die, to feel that I will never exist anymore, but for some reason this tradition makes me feel peace to see how in one way or another we will always be present in the hearts of those who love us, that is why this film is one of the ones i love to watch.

Miguel is a boy who loves music but his family hates it, it is forbidden because mom Imelda's husband abandoned her and her daughter for fulfilling his dream of being a singer, Miguel secretly has his guitar and watches the movies of the famous Ernesto de la Cruz who is his biggest idol.

We are in the day of the dead, the day they meet and make an offering in honor of all those who are not, leaving them the things they liked so much and remembering them once again.

Miguel, thanks to a faceless photo of Mama Imelda's husband, thinks that his great-great-grandfather is Ernesto de la Cruz, because of the guitar they both had, and in an effort to find a guitar to compete in a small event in his town, he picks up the guitar. from the famous Ernesto de la Cruz, this guitar was spellbound by what ends up in the land of the dead.

The only way to return is with the blessing of his family, but how he is makes it a condition that he never play again or have anything related to music, he takes on the task of looking for his great-great-grandfather, since as he was a musician he would understand, but he has little time, since at dawn if he has not managed to leave there he will remain there forever.

The songs in this film are beautiful and I sing them every time I listen to it, and that sounds a lot at this time, how colorful it is and I quite liked its story, it fills me with emotion every time I see it, it gives me a lot of feeling, the scene when Miguel sings a year after what happened with his family between the living and the dead, it's beautiful😂🥺 I don't know, I love it.

It's not the best of Pixar but it has its own ✨

Obviously it has no comparison with the book of life, that's another level but what do you think? Is it overrated?

  7. A review of "Coco" - a romantic vial to reflect on existence, desires, life after death and above all, our soul@aurzeq1378d

    Source

    Plot

Young Miguel, who aspires to be a great singer like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz, is stopped by the severe rules of his family, that severely prohibited any form of music. Miguel, eager to demonstrate his talent, finds himself in the unexpected and vibrant Land of the Afterlife as a result of a bizarre chain of circumstances. He meets the likable and opportunistic Hector along the way, and the two of them set off on an epic quest to learn the unknown tale of Miguel's family.

    Source

    Why you should watch it?

Being able to always carry a feeling with you is becoming more and more difficult despite technological advancements in a society that increasingly rejects the idea of time passing through the obsession with eternal youth as well as the ability to permanently crystallize an image thanks to mobile phones that constantly record every moment of our lives and turn them into an album of shared memories in real time. That particular touch, that timbre of voice, the scent of a loved one's hair are precious memories to be treasured as much as possible. The everyday craziness frequently causes us to set them aside and store them in a secret, dark area of our memory, making place for things like job deadlines, new friendships, and minor irritations. However, they remain constantly present, ready to overwhelm us, as if the person who left us was still there, holding our hands and paying attention to our thoughts, when we pause for a moment, finally free of commotion and noise. Coco accomplishes this by skillfully manipulating colors and music. First, it intoxicates us with phosphorescent creatures, sparkling petals, and loud music before almost treacherously making us feel emotions (and tears). Little Miguel's voyage into the afterlife is an emotional experience that explores the value of the past, our roots, and the desire to achieve our goals no matter the cost.

    Source

It is a movie about the value of family and how memories of loved ones can be a strong bond between the living and the dead. It accomplishes so with an audacious vision, providing a comforting "first afterlife" without the necessity for God or religion.

    Source

Over the years, we've grown somewhat accustomed to the thought that, in a contest between the living and the dead, it's always the latter that prevails, proving to be more colorful and vibrant than anticipated. Many movie heroes, especially animated ones, come to realize how boring their lives really are after spending some time in the afterlife. Can this comparison, however, really be made when the country of departure is a vibrant one, like Mexico? Coco demonstrates that it is possible to build a scene that is more colorful, bright, and lively than the already brilliant reality. To gain a notion of what is waiting for the viewer on the other side, all one needs to do is glance at the marigold bridge, the enchanted tunnel that connects the two realms. The concept comes from a Mexican tradition in which families make marigold petal roads that run through the streets and terminate in front of the ofrendas, altars that are decorated with pictures of the family, favorite foods, and sentimental items of the departed. The spirits are led home through these routes, thus it makes sense that the portal between the two worlds was built using the same approach. The marigold bridge has a wonderful and exquisite quality to it that is reminiscent of a Mexican aqueduct, but it also highlights the incredible lighting design that has been done.

    Source

The entire Pixar movie centers around realizing one's dreams and being determined to achieve one's goals, as is typical of works created by the Mickey Mouse company, but right alongside this race for self-affirmation flows the river of love and the courage of choice (success or family?) as well as a lovely reflection on art that magically withdraws from public view to become a straightforward form of private communication, the only way in which the artist can express themselves.

The stunning colour scheme and intricate lighting design of the movie combine seamlessly with the soundtrack, which is essential to the narrative value of Miguel's story. Several of the characters in Coco are musicians, while others have no interest in the art form. But regardless of whether they are living or dead, every single one of them manages to be incredibly likable and sympathetic, creating an unending web of well-balanced components that are all essential and equally crucial to the project's narrative and emotional success.

    Source

And if you're still wondering why the movie is called Coco, well you just need to watch it 😉.

    Conclusion

Coco is a romantic vial to reflect on existence, desires, and above all life after death and that wonderful and inconceivable legacy of ours that is the soul: the only true inheritance we possess. I personally loved the movie both for the content and for the amazing animation. I absolutely recommend you to watch it an let me know if you liked it 😉.

  8. From Disney Pixar we present a good Mexican movie called COCO / Review / (ENG/ESP@lionsaturbix1461d

    Source / Fuente

¡Comencemos!

Welcome my dear friends, lovers of the cinematic universe.

Today I come to share with you a movie that perhaps many will know, if not you can see a summary of what we can find in this film, this film is called COCO, where we will dive into the world of fantasy, this film is Mexican, so we can find many of the cultures that this country has, which is very interesting to be honest.

We will meet many interesting characters, we also have to hold back the tears a little bit to not cry with some scenes, not to mention the soundtrack that we will be able to notice in this movie. Join me in this reading and enjoy it. ¡Let's get started!

    Source / Fuente

The story of this film begins with a Mexican celebration, as we know, the people of this country and culture, have a very different way to celebrate the day of the dead, so many families celebrate a lot these days as if there were no tomorrow, these inhabitants of this country do it to remember the dead, so it is a very common tradition of all of them.
We will meet a family, the Rivera, since this family is dedicated to the sale of shoes and repair them, the head of this family is her great grandmother named Imelda, since many years ago she had a husband who was passionate about music, one day her husband became so addicted to music that he left his family to achieve his dreams of being a musician, This caused a strong impact on her daughter named COCO, but his wife Imelda was not going to stand idly by while her husband did whatever he wanted, so she began to repair shoes until she created a family business, over the years and from generation to generation this will continue to be the family business.

    Source / Fuente

We will also meet the main protagonist of this story called Miguel Rivera, which is a young boy with an approximate age of 12 years, his passion for music is admirable, but his grandmother does not allow anything to do with music, because his mother COCO suffered a lot when his father abandoned them.
Miguel has no choice but to follow the generation of his family, which is to repair or make shoes, so he goes every day to the town square where he lives to repair shoes and listen to the mariachis play their musical instruments, also this boy feels a great admiration for a man named Ernesto de la cruz, which is his grandfather and husband of Imelda, the same one who left his family to go to fulfill his dreams as a musician.

    Source / Fuente

In this film we can find many very funny scenes, for example when Miguel's grandmother starts arguing with a mariachi from the village, so she uses a flip-flop to hit the poor mariachi just because he tried to lend Miguel his acoustic guitar.
Honestly, this was one of the parts that made me laugh the most, but seeing how poor Miguel's hopes and dreams of being a musician are shattered just because his grandmother suffered so much with his mother when she was little, yet his mother COCO still remembers his father day after day.

    Source / Fuente

Miguel has a little secret in his own house, since every night he hides in a small shelter to play his favorite musical instrument, which is the acoustic guitar, we see how his passion is so immense, that he created his own guitar with old boards, the thinkers that carries the guitar to tighten the strings are made with nails. And in order to tighten them he will have to use wire cutters.
But even though his instrument was made out of disposable material, he plays the guitar very well, not to mention his voice, which is fantastic for the songs he will be singing throughout the movie.

    Source / Fuente

The day of the dead has arrived and Miguel knows it, previously he did not know that his grandfather was Ernesto de la Cruz, so he tried to persuade his family so they could support his dreams of being a musician, but his grandmother did not agree with that, so she found Miguel's secret hiding place and destroyed his guitar and his dreams of being a great musician like his grandfather.

One night while everyone was celebrating this international day, Miguel went to the grave of his grandfather Ernesto de la cruz to be able to have the guitar he had, but what he doesn't know is that his passion for music will take him to know a totally magical and different world than the one he was living in, Here he will meet all his ancestors and it is when he will meet a special being, who will become his best friend and will guide him to his grandfather, but in these parts we will find a mystery and a background of the story that will be revealed at the end of the film, leaving every second that we are watching it to give us more and more.

    Source / Fuente

Miguel's new friend seems to know his grandfather very well, so he will help him with a condition, one that will allow this new friend to visit the land of the living, but what these two do not know is that in the end not everything will go as they planned and they will stop being friends, until life begins to open the eyes of each one of them.

The Rivera family is a family of music-hating shoemakers. Miguel, the main character, is a young man who keeps something from his family, namely he loves music, he idolizes the greatest singer of all time, Ernesto de la Cruz. The ban on music in his family was originally because Mama Imelda, grandmother of Miguel's grandmother, hated her musician husband.

One day, Miguel realizes that Ernesto de la Cruz is the man (Mama Imelda's husband). One night, Miguel go to de la Cruz's grave, he takes his guitar, strums it, and turns out he is out of sight of the living. He can be seen by people who are already dead. He meet his dead family, they go to the Land of the Dead, where the dead are if they are still remembered, the dead people can go to the living human world on Day of the Dead if someone puts their picture on the altar.

Miguel there meets Hector, a spirit who can't go to living human world because no one has his picture displayed on the altar. Please see for yourself how Miguel's journey in the Land of the Dead.

A few notes from me about this movie:

Beberapa catatan dariku tentang film ini:

🟪 This movie is a Pixar animated movie that focuses on the theme of music other than "Soul". While other Pixar movies don't focus on the theme of music, "Turning Red" is rather focused on the theme of music. 🟪 This movie is set in Mexico. As far as I know there is no Pixar movie other than this that is set in Mexico. If there is, tell me. 🟪 Graphics quality is as good as other Pixar movies. 🟪 The title of this movie is taken from the name Coco, Miguel's gramdmother's mother. So, Coco is not the name of the main character. But Coco has important links in this movie. Unique, usually if the title of the movie is taken from the character's name, then the main character's name is taken, such as "Luca", "Finding Nemo", "Iron Man", and others, but not for this movie. 🟪 The plot twist in this movie is really good. 🟪 The ending of this movie is good. It ends sadly and then happily. 🟪 The song "Remember Me/Ingat Aku" from this movie is good. I like it. 🟪 Moral messages that can be learned from this movie: • Love your family because family is the main thing, • Don't judge someone out of place, maybe the person we think is bad is good, • Seize the moment not by putting other people down.

    As a result, if I may give a rating, I give it a 9 out of 10.

  10. Coco (2017) Movie Review 🎦😊👍@vikbuddy1632d

    coco_ver6_xlg.jpgsource

I've been saving the movie 'Coco', which has been reviewed by many people, and finally I watched it on Christmas. After all, animations about family love are perfect for Christmas.

Until I saw the movie, I thought this little boy was Coco. It must have been because of the image emanating from the cute name. But Coco was the name of this old woman Hoho. I'm very surprised.

This story is based on Mexican culture and customs. It is said that if the living do not remember the dead, the dead who have gone to the afterlife will disappear completely, and they will cease to exist even in the afterlife. So Mexicans try to remember their deceased family for a long time.

Miguel's great-grandmother, Coco, had her mother and father. The two love each other, but their father, who loves singing, leaves her mother and little Coco left behind, saying that one day he will sing it to many people. In order to make a living with her Coco, her mother learned the art of shoemaking along with her cunning, and she succeeded in making it into her family business. Both Miguel's parents are now in the shoe business.

Miguel's grandmother, who took away her grandmother Coco, was a decisive opponent of anyone in her family playing music. Miguel admires the legendary musician Della Cruz. He is a singer who sang the song 'Remember Me' that appears frequently in this movie. Everyone remembers his song and life, and has built a monument to him in the cemetery to commemorate him.

Worried about Miguel going out to the square and being deceived by people who keep singing, the grandmother warns him to focus only on taking care of his ancestors. Still, Miguel, who loves singing, always liked to sing alone while watching Della Cruz tapes in secret places.

Although it is an animation, it is expressed in detail as if it were really playing the guitar, so while watching the movie, it feels like a child named Miguel can play the guitar and sing well, and I fall in love with it. Miguel accidentally drops a family photo of his great-grandmother Coco while he hides his guitar under the altar where his ancestors' photos are placed.

Also, in the photo of Coco's family, he finds out that Coco's father, who played music, has the torn side of the face folded. When Miguel opened the fold, he was surprised. It is that Dela Cruz, whom he admires, was Coco's father, that is, Miguel's great-great-grandfather.

Then, one day, when the grandmother realizes that Miguel is about to go to a singing contest in the square, she smashes Miguel's guitar. Angry Miguel runs out of the house, and without a guitar he can't enter a singing contest, so he goes to Dela Cruz's Tower in the cemetery and tries to steal his guitar.

And magical things happen. Miguel was seen by the dead and invisible to the living. And on this day, the dead crossed the bridge from the underworld to the next and came to meet the living people who remembered them.

So Miguel meets all of his ancestors. However, they hear from their dead ancestors that only Coco's mother, Miguel's great-grandmother, is unable to cross the bridge because Miguel broke a photo of Coco's family from the altar and brought the photo.

Together with his ancestors, he solves the problems of his great-great-grandmother, and Miguel himself crosses the underworld bridge to return as a human again. He is a talkative and con artist named Hector whom he meets there. This person is also Della Cruz's friend. It is said that the living people did not remember him, so he has never crossed the bridge to the underworld and went to visit his family.

The great-grandmother, who he barely met, said he would send Miguel to another world on condition that Miguel stopped playing music. In order for him to meet Dela Cruz he must be invited to his party, in order to receive an invitation he must win first place in the Underworld Singing Contest.

The movie was made with really fresh material. I already know that the technology of animation is high-level recently, but I was surprised at the sophistication of the animation because it was tthe Musical animation I had seen in a long time.

Besides, what I was curious about before seeing the movie was that the main character was Miguel, and why was the title 'Coco'? I found out while watching the movie, lol.

It's a children's animation, but it was very surprising that the story unfolded in a very exciting way with repeated twists and turns. The music throughout the movie was also very good, but especially 'Remember Me' was very good to listen to even though it appeared frequently. And finally, when that song came out, tears came pouring out without a hitch.

'Coco', a movie that makes you look back on the love of your family at Christmas, is a movie you can talk about while watching it with your family.

  11. Coco - a short recommendation and a bit of my Disney talk. / Coco - krótka polecajka i trochę mojego gadania o Disneyu.@herosik1679d

    ccccccc.jpg

Recently, I sometimes complain about Disney like "Hurr durr, the Mickey Mouse Corporation can't make movies anymore." And well, I confess - I made a mistake. The fact is, they are not in their "golden age" anymore and I don't remember a similar blockbuster from "The Lion King", "Aladdin" or a few other films, but that doesn't mean they make poor or average animations. I don't know what their contribution was to the movie discussed today, so if Disney just gave the money or just helped, and the lion's share of the work was done by Pixar, then ... I won't count "Coco" for Disney's credit. But I can praise "Ray and the Last Dragon", although this one was IMO only good. Another thing was "Coco", about which I initially didn't want to write but made such a good impression on me that I decided to make an exception. He didn't knock me out like Pixar's "Soul", but it's more because I didn't have time to empathize with him. This is because Asia did not want to start any new series, and since we had already watched all the series and movies that interested us on Netflix and HBO, I decided to look for animated films. I didn't see some of them, and since we had a loose Sunday and we were taking care of a sick dog (Taco got a stomach flu or got poisoned with something), I decided to turn on something simple. I didn't suspect that I would see a title at "Soul" level. Well, because you know, a fairy tale for children cannot tell about things that will be interesting for adult audiences who could already have their own (in the sense they are +30 years old). Yeh, I caught myself with the boomer thinking of generations of our parents and grandparents. Ok, animated films, anime etc. they are primarily for children (excluding animations, anime etc. for at least +17), but contrary to appearances, even an adult can get something out of it. True, these are often truisms, but as Jordan Peterson probably said, "These are so obvious that people have forgotten them."

Due to the fact that it is a short text, I will not dwell too much on the plot, characters, line quality, animation and music. In all respects, it is at least good. I liked everything and during the screening I found no reason to complain. After the screening, you know, I had some questions and reservations about the plot, characters, some ideas etc. but as long as it works within the movie. In some old Disney animations, if you break down into prime factors, you could come to many interesting and not necessarily positive conclusions, but if during the screening the viewer buys and succumbs to the magic of cinema, not all later thoughts are important. Some aspects have to be bent if necessary for the movie to be a good show. There aren't many such problems in "Coco" and "Soul", and even if they were, they are just as insignificant as the numerous holes or illogicalities in the script for "Aladdin. By the fact that it is an animation, you can show things (and it is much easier and cheaper to strengthen their emotional, visual or moralizing message), which either would fail in a film with the actors, or their satisfactory realization would be much more difficult. the subject of death, passing, memory, family values, healthy selfishness and individualism, being brave or good, avoiding naive thinking. It is true that I recommend "Soul" more, but if you have time, watch both of them. I had fun and I will definitely watch this movie with my child. I give it a solid +8/10 - it's worth getting to know!

Mogę natomiast pochwalić "Raya and the Last Dragon", aczkolwiek ten był IMO tylko dobry.

Niektóre aspekty muszą zostać nagięte, jeśli istnieje taka konieczność, by film był dobrym show. Jeśli pytacie o moją ocenę, to daję mu solidne +8/10 - warto poznać!

Hello to all the Hive Community, taking advantage of the approaching Day of the Dead I decided to bring you an excellent movie from PIXAR, winner of the Oscar for Best Animated Film, written and directed by Lee Unkrich, it is COCO.

    What is it about?

It is about a Mexican family, the Rivera Family in which Music was forbidden, since his Great-Great-Grandfather abandoned his family for music, then throughout the film it is discovered that he did not abandon the family, but was poisoned by his best friend Ernesto de la Cruz, Miguel the child of the Rivera family wanted to be a musician and trying to get the guitar from Ernesto de la Cruz was taken to the world of the Dead where he meets all his ancestors, there he meets his great-great grandfather and helps him not to disappear from the world of the Dead. It is an entertaining movie full of color, music, sadness and joy, where we see a little of the Mexican culture, their beliefs, at the end of the movie the great-great-grandfather manages to appear in a kind of scanner and can cross the bridge that takes him to the land of the living, to visit his relatives on the Day of the Dead. I can't tell you to see it because I imagine you have already seen it many times. Anyway, watch it again, it's beautiful.

    Film Characters

    • MIGUEL: The youngest son of the Rivera Family wants to be a musician.

    • MAMA COCO Miguel's great-grandmother.

    • HECTOR Miguel's great-great-grandfather, Mama Coco's father.

    • IMELDA Great-great-grandmother of Michael, wife of Hector.

    Personal Opinion

For me it is an excellent movie where the love for the family stands out even when they are no longer there, it is touching and makes you believe that in reality your deceased relatives are still there and on the Day of the Dead they come to reunite with the family, I am Venezuelan and after watching Coco, I acquired the Mexican custom of placing an altar with photos, candles and flowers to honor them. Sometimes I felt sad to think that the people I grew up with are no longer around, but coco made me see life in a different way, it gave me hope that someday we will meet again. It made me sad to see how the forgotten disappear from the world of the dead. It is a movie that brings together all kinds of feelings, laughter, tears, like when Mama Coco remembered the song her father sang to her. Thanks to Miguel her great-great-grandparents were reunited and broke the ban on music in the Rivera family. Excellent movie.

    Final Question

So, friends, what do you think, would you like to visit your ancestors?

Until the next publication, God bless you.

  14. Oh, my love! a little crazy... |Coco Movie Review [ENG - ESP]@mafalda20181869d

    Imagen6.png

    "Remember me

I have to go today, my love

    Remember me

    Don't cry, please..."

    (Remember me, movie Coco)

Memories are the only thing we have left of life, of those magical moments and loved ones. Only those who are not remembered, who are forgotten, die.

The love of the family and towards our ancestors and roots should not be ignored.

The family, besides being the fundamental basis of society, is love in its maximum expression. Only family unity brings out the spirit of improvement in human beings.

Mexico is one of the countries that practice the cult of the Day of the Dead celebration. Their tradition instills the value of remembering their ancestors and they are still related to them through the cult and the creation of a festive altar in which they decorate with photos and place offerings because they consider that their existence in the afterlife depends on remembering them in this present world. For them, it is essential to visit their deceased in the cemetery.

In the Disney and Pixar movie Coco, love and family unity are evident.

The main character Miguel is a teenager, a stage where young people think they know it all and are always right.

Oh, dreams. They say that dreams vanish like smoke, but that's not true. If you work and go after them you can achieve them. My dear Miguel has a big dream of being a singer, however, his family hates music. Knowing this, in his hideout he enjoys the songs of his idol Ernesto de la Cruz, plays his guitar, and dreams.

dosss.png Fuente Imagen propiedad de Disneyplus

Everything goes wrong for being in a hurry, and for fighting for what he wants. He destroys the altar, which is something unforgivable in the family.

When Miguel plays the guitar, he casts a spell, and this is where the entanglements begin. Together with Dante, they live a story of music and color that envelops us and fills us with tears.

Who hasn't cried with Miguel, Coco and Hector?

But sadness is part of life and we must accept it. When I need to drain, I am overcome with tears. So I look for Miguel to accompany me.

On the other hand, the film highlights the matriarchal figure of the family, highlighted by grandmother Elena. She is the one in charge of imposing the laws, rules in the family, and of transmitting the imposed order of not listening to music and eliminating the word cántate and mariachis from their lives

"Music is the only thing that makes me happy and you want to take that away from me.

    You're never going to understand."

    (Miguel, movie Coco)

Adults should not be so obtuse, they always claim that their dreams are the dreams of the whole family. They did not even look for a moment to dedicate it to Miguel and ask him what his feelings were. And if that dream really made him happy.

Oh, poor Miguel, his family had him a little crazy. He smiled because all human beings go through adolescence; a time of craziness, mischief, and loneliness.

That the sky is not blue

Oh, my love! Oh, my love!

    That it's red, you say

Oh, my darling! Oh, my darling!

    (A little crazy, movie Coco)

333.png Fuente Imagen propiedad de Disneyplus

I love all the characters in the movie. I was dazzled with the soundtrack that was in charge of the American Michael Giacchino.

This film was released in 2017 and was directed by Adrian Molina and Lee Unkrichcon. It has a running time of 105 minutes.

Coco is from Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

It won the statuettes for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song with the melody "Remember Me" at the 90th Oscar Awards Ceremony.

Coco is not just a children's movie, it is a film that captures the idiosyncrasy, history, folklore, and art in all its representations of the Mexican people.

Do you know why Dante is not affected by the spell?

    #

What is the legend of the flowers of Cempasuchil?

    #

Do you know who Frida Kahlo is?

You will find all these questions in the film. I invite you to look for it and enjoy the antics of Miguel and his friend Dante.

    Nunca vas a entender”

    Source

    2. Remember Me

📽 Initiative: Mi Favorite Pixar Film: COCO 🎞

    [English Version]

Hello Hivers movie and series lovers, in this opportunity I want to present my participation in this interesting initiative about my favorite Pixar movie. The truth for days I have wanted to participate in this initiative, however, I am very indecisive when it comes to movies, many Pixar productions I like quite a lot, choose only one is a difficult job for me, after turning my head around I have decided to present my favorite movie of the company of the lamp is the movie COCO.

    Source

Deciding was not an easy task, however, there are reasons why I have chosen this production as the best or my favorite of the Pixar company. It is undoubtedly an excellent animated film that makes anyone's heart crinkle, in it we see the magic and the importance of family. Below in the post I mention the reasons for this difficult choice.

    Source

This movie is released in 2017, a wonderful adventure of young Hector in the world of the dead, looking for the blessing of a relative that could return him to the world of the living he faces great challenges to learn a valuable lesson, family comes first. A lesson that we know but many times we do not practice it, many times time passes and until a family member leaves this earth we realize how valuable he was to us, in addition, it introduces us to the true love that is family, when everyone moves away the family will be there.

    Source

This film is commented very positively by film critics, in fact, it received two Oscar's in 2018, as best original song for Remember Me and wins in the category of best animated film, not an easy task because it competed with Zootopia and Spider-Man: A New Universe, however, the Pixar production becomes deserving of that statuette delivery, in addition, this film has several additional awards.

    Source

Reasons for choosing Coco as Pixar's Best Picture:

    1. Emotional Movie:

I am one of those people who don't cry for movies, many in myself think that I don't have feelings, I simply don't cry and I am also not a person who is very impressed by the plots of movies, however, my tears were released in Coco in 2017. First tears shed in a movie theater, from never having cried with a movie to be crying in public is quite a big jump, even in one of the initiatives I have participated I placed this movie as the most emotional for that reason.

    Source

My childhood was with my grandparents, grandma Coco is the typical old matriarch of Latino families, the resemblance to my deceased grandmother was quite noticeable, remembering her was something that simply wrinkled my heart throughout the plot, in addition, my grandfather had died just a couple of months ago. Just remembering my grandparents in the movie plus other family members made it a special movie for me.

    Source

    2. Remember Me

The song Remember Me is a very good song, in the last years we have heard many good songs in the movie industry in the animation section, but Remember Me has that emotional touch that makes it different from the rest, or at least that is my perception. The Oscar winning song for Best Original Song is simply a unique production and a work of art tied to a plot designed for the song to touch the hearts of the viewers inside the movie theaters. It's amazing how we remember this song, I wouldn't even be surprised if some hiver reading this post is humming Remember Me or singing it in their mind.

    Source

    3. Family

I am a very family oriented person, although many people think otherwise, I like to be with my family, family reunions, meals, Christmas parties and many other reasons to be together. Coco seems to me that it gives the right message by highlighting the value of family based on love, it is something that few films express with so much emphasis, in particular I think that this feature leads the viewer to appreciate not only the film production but also their family circle, strengthening the values of what is the fundamental pillar of society, the family.

    4. Animation Classic

From my particular point of view the movie Coco becomes a Pixar classic, this makes us speculate about a possible sequel or second part of this movie, surely many years later we will remember this great Pixar movie as we remember several of the classic productions of the company, in particular I hope for a second part of this movie.

    Source

My Favorite Scene of the Movie

Within every movie there are scenes that draw us in and are memorable to us, Coco is no exception for me, there is one scene that I always look forward to watching. The end of the movie is really touching, Hector singing and the family getting together on a new day of the dead, the matriarch or grandmother Coco passes away, but a new member arrives to the rivera family, Hector's sister.

From a certain point of view we could say that the family will always be, some will certainly leave, they leave our world and that certainly saddens us, but on the other hand, new members join the family as well, giving joy and hope for the future, having reasons to remain united and giving that warm love that is represented in this film.

    Source

The departure of my grandparents was hard, however, these new members came to my family including my daughter, continuing the new generation of my family and giving joy to the hearts that were once broken by the departures of family members that we will undoubtedly always remember.

I leave you with this wonderful scene for you to enjoy and at the same time reflect on.

    Source

It is a real pleasure to write for all the Hivers, I hope you all enjoyed participating in this interesting, fun and in some cases emotional initiative.

Thank you for your reading, until next time

Well one day I placed it for my daughter to see it, that same day my daughter saw it almost like 5 times, we had a lot of time seeing it every day, she never got tired of seeing it. He still sees it but not as often as before, but it is a very beautiful film, it has beautiful and striking smells, apart from being musical, children and adults would like to see it, of course not as many times as my daughter hahaha ...

    Synthesis

    Source

This story begins with the voice of a boy named Miguel, who lives in Santa Cecilia, he dreamed of being a singer, in his story he tells us that his great-great-grandmother Mamá Imelda hated music since her husband left her to sing for the world, Mama Imelda had to stay with a little girl, she got tired of waiting, she had a little daughter Coco over whom she took care of, took out all the music of her life, and started a shoe-making business. For her daughter to advance, Familia was growing as was the business.

But Miguel's passion for music made him challenge his family, even though they hated music, but he knew that something inside him was happening, something that music called him, he liked to sing. His favorite idol was de la Cruz, a singer from his town who ventured to fame, but in one of his presentations or accident and died. Miguel worked cleaning boots after leaving school. In his working hour he begins to tell his client of his dreams of being a musician, to which the man advised him to stop hiding and go out to sing without fear of his family, that if he were Ernesto de la Cruz it would be to sing to the world . In this, the man lends him the guitar to sing and learn of his fame. But that's what Helena (Miguel's grandmother) sees when she sees she begins to insult the musician and says to stop messing with her grandson because it is not related to his music.

    Source

Miguel's grandmother takes him home, as it is Day of the Dead they have the custom of making an offering for the family to come together, the most important thing is to place their photos so that they can pass to this world, to which also their Grandmother tells him that she does not want the same thing that happened to mother Coco's father, who was excluded from the family offering, for abandoning his family.

His Rivera family (dead) take him to the land of the dead, this is one he is taken to an office whose function is to verify that the dead people who are going to cross the bridge, their photo is in the offering, if they are not they cannot cross. To which Mama Imelda is arguing because she could not pass into the world of the living, they tell her that her photo is not in the offering, My family always puts my photo, to which she could not cross this time because Miguel took it Photo.

A worker from that office explains that they are bewitched by Miguel who stole a guitar on the Day of the Dead, it is offered, it is not removed, to return Miguel to the world of the living, his dead family must bless him before dawn, if they do not, Miguel will remain trapped in that dimension, already taking the form of skeleton while spending more time in that place. When Mamá Imelda is going to give Miguel her blessing, she does so on a condition that he should not play any more music, he returns to the land of the living, in that he takes up the guitar again and returns him to the land of the dead. Miguel when seeing that none of the members of his family does not want to bless him, he remembers his great-great-grandfather decides to look for him, in that same place is a friend of Ernesto de la Cruz who has tried many times to go to the world of the living but all has failed because no one places his photo in the worlds of the living, Miguel tells him that he must find his great-great-grandfather to return him to the world of the living, to which Hector takes the opportunity he tells him that if he takes him to see Ernesto de la Cruz, Miguel must place his photo in the offering in order to pass the bridge, to which Miguel accepts.

This movie tells the story of a boy named Miguel who loved music, his biggest dream was to be like his favorite Singer Ernesto de la Cruz, but his family hated music. That happened long before he was born that Mama Imelda (Tatarabuela) banned music in her family after her husband abandoned her for getting her dream. She had to get her daughter Coco forward alone, with the economic activity making shoes, that tradition was given from generation to generation.

Miguel returns to the world of the living, runs to his grandmother Coco is locked with her, begins to sing and his whole family realizes that Coco begins to remember the song and sing it, and begins to recover his memories and know that he is next to his family. In that coco shows them that she kept hidden in a drawer the photo that her mother broke from her father and the letters that her father sent her with the lyrics of each song Hector wrote.

The end comes Miguel telling his little sister how important his family has them to stay in the world of the dead with his memories, he shows the photo of each of his relatives. Then he goes out to the family dinner, everyone goes out tasting with Miguel and the soul of his dead relatives together, watching them enjoy Miguel's songs that he could achieve his dream….

Then he goes out to the family dinner, everyone goes out tasting with Miguel and the soul of his dead relatives together, watching them enjoy Miguel's songs that he could achieve his dream….

    Analisis / Analysis

This is a very beautiful movie to watch as a family, where you can enjoy several scenarios, very colorful images, and in turn shows us the importance of family, traditions, memories and dreams.

This movie makes us take into account family love, how important support, affection, is family living, which is one of the things we must have first, eliminate material things and spend time with our parents, brothers, sons, uncles, cousins, nephews. In today's world, family life is disappearing from our homes due to the entry of technology, very little sharing tables together at breakfast, lunch or dinner, telling their stories, or family problems or advice. , we are increasingly entering the network either on computers or on the phone, we focus only on this, we forget what is around us. We must return to this family traditions to always have that they are first that for each moment there is a time. In turn, it teaches that we should not put aside our dreams, that we are able to realize them that no matter the size we are young or old, rich or poor we can achieve it, there are no limitations but we ourselves must only fight for them and trust in ourselves, and always present the support and love of our family

In addition, they showed another plane where our family members who are not with we reflect that on that day of the Dead that I have celebrated in different ways in each country, region or culture they return to us and visit us, that as long as their memories are alive they will be guiding us, this movie despite being very nice to see her reminds me of my relatives that they are no longer with me especially my father Cecilio Muñoz who is barely a year after his death, likewise my Uncle Nelson (my father's brother) who in life was like another Father of We who left this world two months after the death of my father.

So, I invite you to enjoy this wonderful animated movie, and if you have already seen it I would like to know how was your experience to see it ...

  20. COCO.- Animated movie to enjoy with the family@celi1302416d

    Hello everyone,

Today in the morning I enjoy with my girl Daniela, one of her favorite movies is Coco. Lying in our room we enjoy this magnificent movie.

    Movie review

    [Source](https://cdn.culturagenial.com/es/imagenes/miguel-ve-a-su-idolo-cke.jpg)

    [Source](https://cdn.culturagenial.com/es/imagenes/miguel-y-coco-cke.jpg)

The story continues in which he begins to celebrate the Day of the Dead, it is a tradition that is found in the family to prepare an altar and place the photos of their loved ones who have already left and offer their favorite foods and other offerings, to remain their memories in lives, because even if they are gone, they are in another world to remain there must be present in the earthly world their memories. While Miguel went to the square to bolar shoes, in that he tells a musician his story and tells him that if he wants to be like his idol he must not hide his talented and participate in the Day of the Dead contest that will be given in Square.

That is where his grandmother arrives and begins to insult the musician who moves away from him, because it has nothing to do with anything to do with his music, he goes home. The grandmother says to accompany him to the altar and teaches him that THE MOST IMPORTANT IS THE FAMILY . In that he stays with Great Grandmother MAMA COCO, suddenly Dante a street dog that Miguel has moves the table and knocks down the closeup that is on the altar of the family offering, in that photo is Mama Imelda and Coco, but when breaking the portrait he notices that there is another person in that photo, but his face was broken, in that he observes that he has a guitar very similar to that of his idol Ernesto de la Cruz, seeing that he asks Mama Coco if Ernesto de la Cruz was his father. Mama Coco, being an older woman with a disease called Alzheimer's, just sees the picture, remember that she is her family and her father is there. Miguel excited to see that his great-grandmother tells him that he is his great-grandfather, goes to his hiding place and compares the photo with an old album he has and verifies that it is the same Guitar. He leaves Happy and says that he will be a musician shouting at 4 winds without fear of his family. But his grandmother gets angry, the guitar breaks and all the things you had hidden that were related to music.

He with anger runs away from the family and goes to the square and decides to participate in the competitions, but tells him that he must bring his instruments, having no starts asking for a guitar player, nobody lends him one, remember that in the cemetery is the Guitar of his great great grandfather Ernesto de la Cruz.

He borrows it, but when it sounds, he passes into a lateral world that cannot be seen by the living, he can see the living and the dead. In that he scares, he runs away, and meets his dead family, they decide to take him to his great grandmother Mama Imelda who could not move into the world of the living. He and his dog Dante as he enters the Death Threshold, begins to know a world where all the people are dead and remembered by their living relatives. He finds his Mama Imelda and an inspector tells him they are bewitched, to return to the world of the living he must receive his family's blessing before dawn. His great-great grandmother is going to give him the blessing with the condition that he forgets music, but Miguel does not accept that condition and runs away from his family. Dante guides him to a man who finds himself already in the finals because the only relative is forgetting him, he makes a deal with Miguel to find Ernesto de la Cruz if he places his photo on the altar.

    [Source](https://static01.nyt.com/images/2017/08/29/arts/COCO1/COCO1-master1050.jpg)

From there Miguel begins an adventure of how to find his great-great-grandfather, discovers life after death and understands everything, the important thing that living people remember him to the dead realizes that they cease to exist on that plane. In that you get a musician contest and the winner will go to the party that Ernesto de la Cruz performs every year. Miguel and Hector see that it is an opportunity, it makes for the child to sing, but Miguel tells him that he has never climbed a stage, hector tells him that he will then sing, but Miguel insists that he must participate to know if he is a singer. Hector orients him tells him what he has to do. Then he calls Miguel on stage but does not start, he is afraid but Hector encourages him to trust him, there is Miguel starts singing the audience is encouraged. At the end he notices that his family is looking for him among the public. He escapes again, Hector chases him and realizes that Miguel has more family, tells him that he is a liar. Miguel throws the photo of Hector begins the search alone of Tatarabuelo.

    [Source](https://cdn.culturagenial.com/es/imagenes/miguel-y-ernesto-de-la-cruz-cke.jpg)

Miguel arrives at the party and manages to graduating, being able to find his great grandfather gives him his blessing, finds him and tells him that his family does not want him to be a musician, that he needs his blessing to return to the world of the living, to be able to sing for the world. At the moment that de la Cruz is going to give him his blessing, Hector arrives and tells Miguel of his treatment to take his photo, he tells de de la Cruz that they would do it for their friendship. In that Miguel remembers a very famous film of the Cross "Back to his house" where Don Hidalgo poison his best friend by giving him a toast saying the words "He would move the earth heaven for you my friend." Hector begins to remember what happened and realizes that de la Cruz poisoned him, he did not let him return home with his family. De la Cruz calls his guards and tells him to lock him up, and Miguel does the same. Miguel and Hector are in a well and he says he wanted to return to the World of the Living to see his Little Daughter Coco again and sing the song he wrote for her "Remember Me", in that Miguel realizes that Hector is his Great-great-grandfather, shows you the photo where his mother Imelda and her little daughter Coco are.

  23. Crítica a Coco@sangoro972864d

  24. Review Film : COCO (2017)@film-trail3016d

Pixar's release is known for the ability to tear the audience's feelings, but the aspect I most admire is the ingenuity of building an imaginary world that is neatly arranged, culturally, and "rules" based on the bits and pieces of life around. After insects, toys, sea creatures, monsters, superheroes to the contents of the human brain, Coco again brought Pixar in his best traits, lifting him de Los Muertos aka Day of the Dead, the day of celebration in Mexico to commemorate the ancestral spirits. By the duo writers Adrian Molina and Matthew Aldrich, the sacred day is a means to pour out ideas as well as an outpouring of a person's relationship with his family.

The family is the home, the shelter where the members support each other. But often we feel it is just a concept too wise far from reality. Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez) is in similar condition. Both parents and grandmothers love to talk about how important and precious the family, but Miguel believes otherwise. The bond was not felt, especially due to a prohibition of playing music that has been applied from generation to generation. That said, the ban began after Miguel's great-grandfather left his wife and son in pursuit of a musical career.

The story of the protagonist pursues a dream in the midst of the family ban, though it will always be relevant is very familiar so prone to repetition. But the conflict is apparently just a trigger to open the way tell a story much fresher is also meaningful. Knowing that his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt) the most famous musician was his own great-grandfather, Miguel established his heart to achieve his dream. That's where the magical events happen. Ernesto's guitar throws Miguel into the realm of the dead, taking him to meet the ancestors whom he has only known through photographs and legacy stories, in the Land of the Dead is visually vibrant with a wealth of texture detail, flickering lights, Aztec marigold petals splattered on the ground, and a multicoloured spirit animal called alejibre that flies, Miguel's business back to human nature assisted his ancestral spirits began. Coco also moves to highlight the essence of Dia de Los Muertos as a reflection of the connection between the living and the dead, as the main character understands the meaning of connection with the family. In a role to solidify the foundation of his world, Molina and Aldrich intelligently utilize the various elements of Dia de Los Muertos, call the ancestral photographs in the ofrenda (altar offerings) as the key to the presentation of the theme.

As his mysterious setting also surprises Miguel, his movie keeps some surprises that keep the dynamics while adding emotional weight. Even related to the dynamics, though telling the story of death, Coco still offers a touch of comedy so as not to fall into the realm too dark. Sources of humour very, ranging anomalies and the anatomical behaviour of the Land of the Dead inhabitants of the skull until small things such as the appearance of alejibre frog glimpses. Most seem absurd, which corresponds to the strangeness of Miguel's situation, if you make Pixar a vehicle looking for emotion, Coco will be satisfactory. From the perfect heavenly animation depicts the afterlife to the talents of Lee Unkrich (Finding Nemo, Toy Story 3, Monsters, Inc.) assembling scenes that reflect a sense of precious family moments. In harmony with Miguel's dreams, Unkrich played an important role in the song in emotional outbursts. When Remember Me's number is sung softly for the last time, all the aspects of the movie (sensuality of voice, music, animated detail of Mama Coco's facial wrinkles) blend together, as the pieces of the story escape, answer the reason why the title "Coco" is selected. Coco reminds us to keep a memory of the dear ones who have gone away believing they remember our memories together. Until one day we are with them again.

Wow. I saw Coco finally. And just wow. It was beautiful. Visually stunning and telling a story and celebrating a culture that is often ignored or stereotyped.

I may have teared up a few times. image Miguel, spurned by his family refusing to let him be a musician goes to the spirit world, accidentally, and must find a way back before sunrise and with a blessing from a family member that doesn’t include a no music clause.

It’s a little more complicated than that but it is really good.

I may have teared up a few times.

Sorry, short review but there’s not much else to say.

    it’s amazing.

Disney Pixar just can't fail. All of their movies are spectacular visually. Coco is no exception to that rule. Definitely need to pick this one up for your 4k HDR collection. The color is unparalleled. May just be the best looking animated movie I own now. I give this one a solid 10/10 for plot, entertainment, stunning visuals, and great Dolby Atmos audio.

  27. Coco Review: Music as a powerful force that transcends through time@namiks3067d

    Coco.jpg

There's a few certainties that come with Pixar animations: a heartwarming narrative, challenges that extend far into reality, and a simplistic moral conveyed throughout the story.

It's safe to suggest that Pixar's unique--yet simple--methods of storytelling have resulted in a ballpark standard when it comes to creating a narrative that holds substance throughout its lighthearted events and characters. These stories not only display the everyday difficulty of childhood, but reflect the importance of never giving up in life; and that as time progresses, and us with it, our childlike ambitions and imaginations remain.

Coco carries those very traits, and as expected, it creates something wonderful that extends into a world of creativity, passion, loss, and love. Music is displayed as both a creative joy that should be followed by aspiring creatives, and a unique force that manages to transcend through time and dimension in our memories. Songs are a vocal emotion that connect one another, they cannot be forgotten, regardless of the emotion.

The story itself shows the very ways in which music can connect us: after all, the film follows Miguel and his transition through life and death, and back to life again in order to seek the truth behind his family's history and his very own future, yet the connection to music is made between Miguel, his grandmother Coco, and his long-deceased and almost forgotten musician great grandfather.

Amidst the narrative of following your dreams and holding loved ones close to you, there's a beautiful abundance of culture within Coco that mirrors the importance of your surroundings in life. The Mexican tradition of placing an ofrenda during the Day of the Dead celebrations connects us to those we have lost; to those who had lived and did their best to provide the life you are now experiencing. It displays the many ways in which culture holds an importance in discovering who we are, where are roots are placed, and how culture can help us tackle tasks in life.

  28. Coco is a rip off and I saw it@mediaguy3096d

There was already a very similar movie out called 'The book of life'. That had a similar music themed movie where someone traveled to the land of the dead. Just like this movie. Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie. It had the classic disney pixar vibe, that although has gotten repetitive at this point I still liked. It begs the question, is it good movie making or just emotional manipulation. I lean towards the latter because at this point Disney is a soulless megacorporation, and there is no way it is a coincidence, they totally ripped off this movie. Don't take this the wrong way, I do recommend this movie, but don't kid yourself.

  29. Coco (2017) - Video Review@film-trail3110d

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga6RYejo6Hk

The Coco film tells of Miguel's adventures that aspire to become a great singer and musician like his idol, the legendary Mexican musician Ernesto de la Cruz, even though his family forbids Miguel to play music, Coco or Mamá Coco is the name of Miguel's great-grandmother who always hears Miguel's everyday adventures.

Being Mexican, Coco features stories from two different worlds: Land of the Living and Land of the Dead. Miguel and his family came from Santa Cecilia, a fascinating fictional city located in the Land of Living, However, the magical moment caused by Miguel's unplanned action made him the first man to visit the Land of the Dead, also known as Dia de Los Muertos.

Coco is a strong film with Mexican culture and elevates the tradition of Dia de Muertos to honour and recall the memories of family members who have passed away. For most of the time in the film, the two worlds (Land of the Living and Land of the Dead) are two separate worlds but run harmoniously and side by side, On a single day of the year, the two worlds are united in a magical manner described as a great family reunion between the world we know and the world of death, the colourful world, the music, and the happiness.

  32. "Coco" movie review@godflesh3130d

Pixar Films are an event that we have the pleasure of attending twice a year lately. The case is particularly special, as "The Secret of Coco" is the sweet drop in the sea of sequels (Cars 3, Toy Story 4, etc.), from which there is no chance to emerge soon. Miguel is twelve years old, lives in a beautiful Mexican village and wants to become a musician, even though his family has been forbidden for centuries. On the night of the Day of the Dead, he quarrels with his relatives and suddenly finds himself in the afterlife, where he has to come out before sunrise if he wants to see them again. Like most Pixar movies, this one also enjoys colorful screen shots, exclusive eye to detail, and references to previous films. In the role of the obligatory animal cider this time is Dante - a hyperactive dog without a dog whose tongue is regularly wrapped around the muzzle (I prefer it to Spot by the Good Dinosaur or Kevin by In the Sky).

    images.jpg

Miguel's experiences are exciting enough in his native village, but once he crosses the Land of the Dead, the real story begins. Surprise: The dead are just like us - they have their houses, urban transport and the bureaucracy "life". Some things never change. "Coco's Secret" is a colorful journey. We are following Miguel's story, but we are actually exploring the Selenia at its own pace, contemplating the curved mountains of colorful, shimmering buildings, each of which is more magnificent than a Christmas tree. We fix our gaze on the giant festive arena rising in the middle of the city like the Tower of Babel, while the breeze sends garlands and petals into our faces. If we get hungry for a walk, we can always take some of the soul-makers - winged beasts in the rainbow colors - or get in the air tram that opens the view of the metropolis. The idea of afterlife is nothing new, but it is rarely presented in such a cheerful way. If I did not find myself there after my death, at least I would like to go on holiday and take part in the fiesta fiesta, which the inhabitants, the eccentric scaffolds, regularly organize in the streets and squares. In Selenia the emphasis falls on pleasure, without making them a soulless hedonistic paradise.

    coco_boxoffice_a.jpg

Like any city in this, there is also a clear hierarchy. Glamorous heights are reserved for the most popular and beloved inhabitants (like the singer Ernesto de la Cruz), barely the suburban suburbs - the half-forgotten unmarried. If you were alive during your lifetime, then you will still have nothing to do; you will become a dust when the last living man finally forgets you. And you did not have a family, then it did not mean to be remembered. Miguel, though in the center of the film, does not stand out with anything overwhelming. This is a story of the dead and the special tribute that the Mexicans give them for the affirmation of death and the deep worship of her. The idea that a person really dies only when no one remembers him is so firmly stated that the need for a prominent protagonist is dropping. The movie works perfectly without one. Of course, there are also Pixar's usual motives such as family reunion, identity search, and so on. The villain is expected to be one-sided and predictable. Animated films, however mature they are in recent times, rarely distance themselves from traditional notions of good and evil. In Coco's Secret, it makes a bad impression - it is quite obvious when and how the screenwriters take on the easy, morally endless way.

    coco 3 disney pixar.jpg

Otherwise, the film does not suffer from the vices typical of the genre: it does not rely on overly humor, nor does it overdo the lazy moments. When they do exist, they somehow fit into the overall narrative. If Coco's Secret is really a journey, Pixar is a very decent guide. Mention also deserves the music. Michael Jacobino has established himself as the classic composer of the studio and although his work on projects such as Ratatouille and the Incredibles is an idea more memorable, it is more than decent here. The Mexican element is audible but also delicate enough - we do not forget that we are in Mexico, but we are not reminded of any note. The vocal performances make a remarkable impression of the song Remember Me and its nine different versions in the official soundtrack. The film raises many existential questions - most of them inconvenient - and does not answer unequivocally to any of them. Should we sacrifice our dreams for the family? Why is the memory of us more important than ourselves? Why only memorial people deserve eternal life? This is Coco's true secret that will remain unrecognizable.

  33. Coco - Movie Review@coldsteem3135d

    coco.jpg

My wife and I went to see Coco at the theater tonight. With a rating of 9/10 at IMDb, I figured this was a film I had to see at the theater. We were not disappointed. The film was packed to the brim with families. Coco is the latest animated adventure from Disney's Pixar. That is generally a stamp of quality in and of itself.

    coco2.jpg

Miguel Rivera (Anthony Gonzalez) has the heart of a musician. He was born to be a musician. But there's a catch. Miguel had a great-great grandfather who left his family to pursue a dream of music. Since that time, music has been forbidden in his house. It was a taboo that his great-grandmother Coco (Ana Ofelia Murguia) handed down. Mama Coco is still alive, but her memory is fading. Miguel's musical hero is Ernesto Delacruz (Benjamin Bratt), who is a hometown hero. When he attempts to retrieve Delacruz' guitar for a music competition, he is mysteriously transported to the land of the dead. Miguel finds himself at odds with his forebears and teams up with a strange loner named Hector (Gael Garcia Bernal) in hopes of meeting Delacruz and receiving a blessing to return him to the land of the living. Things don't go as expected, leading to a twisting adventure and new revelations. Oh, and if Miguel doesn't make it home by sunrise, he will be stuck in the land of the dead. So he is racing against the clock.

    coco3.jpg

Coco is a clear winner. The story was written by Director Lee Unkrich along with writers Jason Katz, Adrian Molina and Matthew Aldrich. The film, at its core, is about family. It is also about fulfilling your dreams. It is a heartwarming story that has a great balance of humor, visual gags (the things you can do with skeletons!) and plot twists. The film manages some nice plot twists to avoid what would otherwise be predictable. The misdirection was well done. The dialogue and characters were engaging. The ending, although predictable, was heartwarming. A nicely constructed, fluid film with exceptional animation.

    coco4.jpg

Coco is a worthwhile film for the entire family. It is also an introduction into some cultural concepts that many of us may be unfamiliar (or mildly familiar) with. The idea of spirits crossing over from the realm of the dead to the living is foreign to most Americans. Yet Dia de Muertos is celebrated throughout Mexico every year. The celebration dates back centuries but has more recently moved into close proximity with All Saints Day. The film uses this celebration to weave together an entertaining, ethereal story experienced through the eyes of a child. I was entertained throughout.

    coco5.jpg

Coco is rated PG. The film is pure Disney. The rating is based on thematic elements, specifically dealing with the afterlife. The film has skeletons throughout, which may be an issue with very young viewers. Reading the warnings at IMDb, there is an indication that the film has a scene of a child drinking whiskey. If that were in some version of this movie, they have removed it. I do not recall a scene anything like that. Some of the folks at IMDb consider the content to be "severely" frightening. More than half voted that way. I don't get it. The subject matter is the afterlife. But there is only mild violence. There is a murder in the film, but it is by poisoning, which is fairly inane. I did not find this film to be anything more than mildly frightening. And that would be for young viewers only. If a ten year old can't handle this subject matter, they are severely sheltered.

    coco6.jpg

Coco was better than I expected. I did not expect anything close to a 9/10 rating as IMDb suggests. I find those ratings are often inflated or deflated immediately after a movie is released. But this is a solid film. The story is interesting and definitely unique. Not the hackneyed writing Hollywood normally churns out. The animation was Pixar quality. Seamless. Some of the effects were startlingly good. The use of light and colors as well as a water scene were exceptional. This film is incredibly colorful, true to the cultural origins. I would recommend seeing this while it is still in theaters. I can actually see this film getting some playing time (niche) at annual celebrations for the Day of the Dead. 8/10.

  34. Review Coco 2017@showflix3136d

    source

If there is life after death, death is not so bad. We are basically alive, just moving nature. It's not so sad is it? But Pixar manages to find what is more sad than death through Coco . I will not reveal it, please find your own. What is clear, I do not suspect how one particular moment is successfully ruffled feelings. Bright, the director is Lee Unkrich who once made us traumatized with Toy Story 3 . I have prepared myself for having seen the various promotional materials, including synopsis and trailer. It's a theme about death, so I should be able to anticipate what kind of move Pixar will take to drain the tears. But it turns out, he is more than that. Taking the setting of Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead that is celebrated every year in Mexico, Coco is also Pixar's way of touching aspects of life about tradition, dream, generation gap , and memory.

However, the film is also not one of Pixar's groundbreaking movies. Despite taking a very unique cultural background, the film moves in a proven frame and now feels very familiar to Pixar: the family. Beat per beat story seems like we've seen before. An experienced audience, even children, I'm sure I can guess how the movie runs. His adventures are not as visually visual. Nevertheless, it remains effective because, well , it has been tested for Pixar.

Our main character is a 12-year-old boy named Miguel ( Anthony Gonzalez , extraordinarily energetic) who tells his ancestors history to us at the beginning of the film. He lives with his extended family-including his father, mother, aunt, grandmother, and Coco's great-grandmother who now can only sit and begin to lose memory-in a Mexican village. This family is very anti with the music for decades, even heard street singers were not allowed.

Apparently the reason originated from his great-great-grandfather Miguel who had left his wife and daughter for pursuing a career as a musician. The wife, Imelda managed to get up and continue to live by becoming a shoemaker, a profession that was revealed generations later. All of this is told through a creative prologue that uses colored paper media that is cut in a particular motif that is a decoration on the Day of the Dead.

Music is then considered toxic in the family. But not for Miguel. In his spare time, he secretly studied the guitar while watching movies from his favorite legendary musician, Ernesto de la Cruz ( Benjamin Bratt ). On the Day of the Dead, Miguel wants to prove his talent, but the grandmother who knows this is destroying his guitar. His attempt to "borrow" the guitar of the late de la Cruz, apparently instead to take him to the world of the dead.

The dynamics of the community in the village of Miguel are made alive by Pixar, but Coco only appears entirely conspicuous as the story turns to the realm of the dead. The universe is like a kind of super-luxurious station, decorated with colors that spoil the eye. As the liaison of the world people live with the world of the dead is a giant bridge made of thousands (maybe, I do not count) flower petals glow orange. Not to mention alebrijas , the sacred creatures of Mexican legend who were visualized as mystical animals with neon colors on their bodies. The dead are described as cute skeletons and of course wear clothes. It's a children's movie. There are certain rules for the dead who want to cross into the real world or vice versa. This mechanism is quite complicated but is explained in such a way that even small children can understand easily.

For the quality of the animation, Pixar was never playing games. If most animation studios usually simplify characters and movement, Pixar does not take the shortcut. There are scenes where Miguel plays guitar and as a guitar player (numpang showy), I can say that every movement of fingers and quotes is right. Then, the wrinkles on Coco's grandmother's face ( Ana Ofelia Murguia ) that initially looked like joke material turned out to have a specific purpose for stirring emotions.

In the world of the dead, Miguel must get the blessing of his deceased ancestor to return home. On the way, he is accompanied by a street dog named Dante and a dead man who wants his photograph delivered to the real world, Hector ( Gael Garcia Bernhal ). You see, if no one puts a picture of a dead person in the real world, it will disappear forever. And Miguel's first goal was de la Cruz, which Miguel trusted as his great-grandfather. But meeting someone who is still a celebrity in the dead world is not easy.

Although not a musical film but Coco has several musical tracks. In a music contest that Miguel must follow to meet de la Cruz, he contracts with Hector in "Un Poco Loco". The final track "Remember Me", though not so impressive, is so effective at performing its primary function. If the child / you wants to be taught how to deal with the death of a loved one, then Coco is the first entertaining and touching experience. Create an adult as well. At least that's what I see from the audience watching with me at the cinema.

  35. "COCO" Disney Pixar's Newest Film Exploring the Death-land@film-trail3289d

After making a  toy life in the movie Toy Story, exploring the dinosaur world in The Good Dinosaur movie and exploring the human brain in Inside Out movie, this time Disney Pixar will take us to explore the Land of the Dead through the movie Coco. Disney Pixar's latest film will air on November 22, 2017, later.

First time I'm watching the trailer of "Coco", I think, this film  has a similar story  'The Book Of Life', heavily inspired by Mexico's national holiday the Day of the Dead, and features a land of the dead, but while "Coco" is about a young boy who inadvertently finds himself in the land of the dead, but  "The Book Of Life" is about love.

While waiting for the movie to be released, let's peek some leaked Coco movie that we can already know!

    Synopsis
