Plot
The movie is about Larry, a divorced and unemployed man who has no job and wants to become an inventor but his dreams are overshadowed when he sees that one of his most famous attempts has been plagiarized (I hate it when they do that). Both his partner and his son think he is a bad influence and decide to cut off any communication, except for a few days a month when by agreement he has to take care of his son.
After so much searching, he learns that the American Museum of Natural History is about to fire several guards due to financial problems. The director decides to replace his three caretakers (all past their senior years) with just one, Larry, even though he has a very unpromising resume and no experience as a caretaker. His job is to make sure no one enters or leaves the museum. However, on his first night, he finds that things in this place come to life - as do statues, mannequins and even paintings - and walk around the museum on their own.

As a fan of Ben Stiller's great work, I consider this movie as well as the other two they released to be some of the best franchises in which he has starred. Between the script, his dialogues with the other main characters, which if you have seen the movie or watched the trailer you will realize that they are played by many other great actors and if that wasn't enough, the special effects and CGI that this movie has is impressive, fun and entertaining.
The story is simple, but at the same time it hooks you because you can feel identified either by the main character or his situation. There is also the subject of comedy, which Ben Stiller is a complete genius, since we are not talking about a comedy style for adults, but a comedy more for all audiences, which is the one that our program knows how to interpret very well, making it look 100% natural.
On the other hand, the soundtrack, as well as the sound and visual effects are what I like the most about this movie, since it mixes very well the visual with the auditory, introducing us to what is incredibly an adventure, but all inside a museum, which is what I like the most. And I say this because, many times, adventure films tend to show us fantastic and incredible worlds, but this time everything happens inside a history museum, which gives it that special touch that identifies it so much.
The relationship of the different characters, the large amount of references, mentions and traces of history in the film and the way in which the plot escalates until it ends in a complete disaster after a small mistake is what makes this film a work that anyone can easily enjoy. Other than that, adding that touch of comedy gives it more value and entertainment that it already has. And, of course, with a cast like this it is obvious that we will find some funny jokes, moments and situations.
Lastly, I really like the work that the other actors have done in this film, including Robin Williams, who was a genius, as always, in playing such an inspiring role as his. There is also Owen Wilson, who always stands out for his unique way of playing roles and the level he gave to his character, along with the help of Steve Coogan, with whom they seem to match very well, since every time they appear it is a complete blast of comedy and fun. Without a doubt, this movie has everything to be that story and adventure that anyone would want to enjoy at home and with their family.
Personally, I give it a 9/10 rating as far as the comedy and adventure genre is concerned.

Como fanático del gran trabajo que realiza Ben Stiller, considero que tanto esta película como las otras dos que sacaron son de las mejores franquicias en las que él ha interpretado como protagonista. Entre el guión, sus diálogos con los demás personajes principales, los cuales si habrás visto la película o te has fijado en el trailer te darás cuenta que están interpretados por muchos otros grandes actores y, por si fuera poco, los efectos especiales y CGI que tiene esta cinta es impresionante, divertido y entretenido.
La historia es sencilla, pero a la vez te engancha porque te puedes sentir identificado ya sea por el personaje principal o su situación. También está el tema de la comedia, la cual Ben Stiller es un completo genio, ya que no estamos hablando de un estilo de comedia para adultos, sino de una comedia más para todo el público, la cual es la que nuestro programa muy bien sabe interpretar, haciendo que se vea 100% natural.
Por otro lado, la banda sonora, amén de los efectos de sonido y visuales son lo que más me gusta de esta película, ya que mezcla muy bien lo visual con lo auditivo, introduciéndonos a lo que increíblemente es una aventura, pero todo dentro de un museo, lo cual es lo que más me gusta. Y lo digo porque, muchas veces, las películas de aventura tienden a mostrarnos mundos fantásticos e increíbles, pero en esta oportunidad todo sucede dentro de un museo de historia, lo cual le da ese toque especial que tanto lo identifica.
La relación de los distintos personajes, la gran cantidad de referencias, menciones y vestigios de historia en la película y la forma en la que la trama va escalando hasta terminar en un completo desastre, luego de una pequeña equivocación es lo que hace de esta película una obra que fácilmente cualquiera puede disfrutar. Fuera de esto, añadir ese toque de comedia le da más valor y entretenimiento que ya tiene. Y, por supuesto, con un elenco como este es evidente que nos encontraremos con algún chiste, momento y situación graciosa.
Por último, me gusta mucho el trabajo que los demás actores han realizado en esta película, entre ellos Robin Williams, quien fue un genio, como siempre, al interpretar un papel tan inspirador como el suyo. También está Owen Wilson, quién siempre se destaca por su forma única de interpretar papeles y el nivel que le dió a su personaje, junto con la ayuda de Steve Coogan, con quien parece que compaginan muy bien, ya que cada vez que aparecen es una completa pasada de comedia y diversión. Sin duda, esta película tiene todo para ser esa historia y aventura que cualquiera desearía disfrutar en su casa y con su familia.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 9/10 en lo que respecta al género de la comedia y la aventura.
