Hello movie lovers. Today we will talk about what is, for me, the best film adaptation of the classic work of the 30s, but with a direction and a cast of actors that made it still remembered today in popular culture. With an impressive success, excellent reviews and even academy awards for best visuals and sound of the time, this film marked a very important part of my childhood and my life, seeing it then as a classic of postmodern cinema and now as a sad love story.

Plot
The film is about a failed movie theater director from New York, USA, who obsessively seeks to shoot one of his most daring films, with a highly acclaimed screenwriter and an actress who urgently needed to work in a successful role. At a time when the country was suffering from the "Great Depression", this group of movie buffs set out in an old ship with a large team of hunters and expert sailors, in search of a very dangerous island.
Upon arriving at this island they begin to film what the director believes will be a masterpiece for the world of cinema, taking the risk and danger of suffering from all kinds of huge beasts and prehistoric animals on this unknown island. The further they go into it, the more weird things they find, such as dinosaurs, giant insects and many animals that are now extinct. Even a tribe of humans who worship a supposed "King" is found there and traps some members, among them the main actress of the movie.
But, what surprises the team the most is to see a giant gorilla confronting these dangerous animals. However, a hunter who came with the team wants to take this giant ape the size of two houses and take it to the big city to sell it for a huge price. On the other hand, the eccentric director sees in this beast the great and heavy opportunity to show the world one of the greatest wonders that the world has hidden all this time.

Andy Serkis, who brought to life the giant gorilla in this film (if I'm not mistaken, it was this film that led to his being chosen to play Caesar in the modern "Planet of the Apes" trilogy), also did a spectacular job on his part. And it was that performance and interpretation that made me stick with this version of "King Kong" to this day, as the way he brought the giant ape to life, aside from the feelings it conveyed, is simply magnificent. Apart from leaving us a great number of memorable scenes and moments in the history of cinema, references that have been replicated in an absurd amount of movies and series in the last decades, this movie also left us a very sad love story, the truth. Because yes, despite appearing to be an action, adventure and drama movie (which it is) of a giant ape, this movie also tells us a love story, with a romance, a love triangle and an ending that is simply devastating.
Imagine watching this movie at the young age of 8-10, as I did, and hearing the unforgettable final line from my great actor Jack Black say, "He didn't die...it was beauty that killed the beast." And yes, this sentence is, for me, the best summary of this movie that can be taken out. And it is this sentence, from this movie, that made me think a lot about the message that the movie conveys at the end. Maybe we are talking about a version of "Beauty and the Beast" that no one else has dared to do? Could it be that the director or screenwriter wanted to convey the best love story ever seen in the world of cinema in the form of an action and adventure movie?
What I do know is that, among so many incredible visual effects that stand out so well in a myriad of scenes and battles with monsters and creatures of all sizes on a dangerous island, in order to survive, we can see at the same time how a very peculiar relationship is formed between a giant gorilla and a very attractive blonde girl. Apart from the action, drama and adventure, we can enjoy a love story between two completely different beings who, in some way or another, relate to each other by understanding each other, despite not speaking the same language.
Even today, if I watch this movie again, I will be left with a melancholy and a strong feeling in my heart after seeing that fateful ending, an ending that completely changed my life. Simply put, we are in front of one of the best, most misunderstood and underrated cinematic works of today. I do not value it only for its incredible visual effects, its soundtrack that is a melancholic sonata of the last century or even for the memorable direction it possesses. I also value it and remember it quite a bit for the incredible acting, script and story it possesses. A raw, far-from-real film that perfectly chronicles what happens many times in show business.
Personally, I give it a well-deserved 10/10 rating for the genres of action, adventure, drama and romance.

Aparte de dejarnos un gran número de escenas y momentos memorables en la historia del cine, referencias que han sido replicadas en una cantidad absurda de películas y series en las últimas décadas, esta película también nos dejó una historia de amor muy triste, la verdad. Porque sí, a pesar de aparentar ser una película de acción, aventura y drama (lo cual sí es) de un simio gigante, esta película también nos cuenta una historia de amor, con un romance, un triángulo amoroso y un final que es simplemente devastador.
Imagínate ver esta película a la corta edad de 8-10 años, como lo hice yo, y escuchar la inolvidable frase final de mi gran actor Jack Black decir: “Él no murió… fue la bella quien mató a la bestia”. Y si, esta frase es, para mí, el mejor resúmen de esta película que se puede sacar. Y es dicha frase, de dicha película la que hizo que me quedara pensando un montón acerca del mensaje que la película transmite al final. ¿Tal vez estamos hablando de una versión de “La bella y la bestia” que nadie más se ha atrevido a hacer? ¿Será que el director o guionista quiso transmitir la mejor historia de amor que se ha visto en el mundo del cine en forma de una película de acción y aventura?
Lo que sí sé es que, entre tantos efectos visuales increíbles que se resalta tan bien en una sinfín de escenas y batallas con monstruos y criaturas de todo tipo de tamaño en una isla peligrosa, con tal de sobrevivir, podemos ver al mismo tiempo cómo se forma una relación un tanto muy peculiar entre un gorila gigante y una chica rubia y muy atractiva. Fuera de la acción, el drama y la aventura, podemos disfrutar de una historia de amor entre dos seres completamente diferentes que, de alguna u otra forma, se relacionan entre sí al entenderse, a pesar de no hablar el mismo idioma.
Aún en la actualidad, si veo de nuevo esta película, me quedaré con una melancolía y un sentimiento fuerte en el corazón luego de ver ese fatídico final, final que me cambió por completo la vida. Simplemente, estamos frente a una de las mejores obras cinematográficas más incomprendidas e infravaloradas de la actualidad. No la valoro solo por sus increíbles efectos visuales, su banda sonora que es una sonata melancólica del siglo pasado o siquiera por la memorable dirección que posee. También la valoro y la recuerdo bastante por la increíble actuación, guión e historia que esta posee. Una película cruda y alejada de lo real que relata perfectamente lo que sucede muchas veces en el mundo del espectáculo.
Personalmente, le doy una muy merecida calificación de 10/10 en lo que respecta a los géneros de la acción, la aventura, el drama y el romance.
