No Country for Old Men (2007)

a Themovieplace short review and recommendation to the Steemit Community

Hello everyone the daily recommendation for today is the movie No Country for Old Men (2007), directed by Ethan Coen and Joel Coen (The Coen Brothers) who are among the best directors of our times managing to create movies like Miller's Crossing (1990), Barton Fink (1991), Fargo (1996), The Big Lebowski (1998), O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), True Grit (2010), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013). There are some movies I have not seen yet and I intend to watch, and among them they are: Blood Simple. (1984), Raising Arizona (1987), The Man Who Wasn't There (2001), A Serious Man (2009), Hail, Caesar! (2016). The Coen Brothers have a unique style which makes you love their creations but also you can hate them pretty easy and I am an example in this situation and I will tell you that i didn't like The Big Lebowski (1998) when I saw it for the first time and generally i'm not attracted to satirical movies but after seeing it for the second time with my brother I changed my opinion, and recently I saw it the third time and I liked it even more and I find more things which made me appreciate even more this great movie. Let's get started and see why I liked this movie and I'll explain a few things about it.

Short Review(Possible spoilers)

The movie starts with Ed Tom Bell who tells that he was a sheriff of that land at the age of 25 and his grandfather and his father were lawmen too and that his father was proud of him. A psychopath killer by name Anton Chigurh is caught by a deputy sheriff which takes him to the station and while he's talking on the phone with the sheriff Chigurh succeed to change the position of the handcuffs with which he will strangle the deputy and kills another man too with his captive bolt pistol from which he steals his car.

Llewelyn Moss another character appears in the landscape which is hunting pronghorns in de desert and during this time he notices with his binoculars some cars and a few corpses and is heading to them where will find a Mexican who is seriously injured and is begging for water. He realizes that it was a fight and ask the survivor if there are others who they survived but he don't know English at all and Moss he decides to search alone and find another deceased under a tree and two million dollars and takes them home.

Getting home he is asked by his wife what's in the bag and from where he got the gun and he tells her that the bag is with money and that he found the gun and he decides to return that night to where he found money and he is chased by two men and their dog which eventually is shot by Moss.

Anton Chigurh stops at a gas station where it fills its tank and is annoyed by the cashier when he is interested from where is he coming and he start to play heads or tails with the cashier who asks him wondering what is the stake and he answers that is everything, and up here is my description about this movie which I will let you see to discover the continuation. No Country for Old Men is one of the best movies of the year 2007 and he did not bore me at all although the Coen brothers have a special style and most of their movie ends suddenly and the audience expected something else often from the end and some even are annoy about this thing but I'm already used to their style and it does not bother me. The actors played very well and I will focus more on Javier Bardem which made a phenomenal role for which he received an Oscar and a Golden Globe for best performance by an actor in a supporting role but let's not forget that in that year also the movie There Will Be Blood (2007) participated and Paul Dano in my opinion he could also win quite well these awards. Is a movie that I recommend to everyone and if you want a certain genre to be recommended for tomorrow you can ask for it and I'll try to find a movie which you have not seen yet, or if you've seen it I hope you enjoyed it (without anime and documentary), and will win the genre which is required by the majority.

My rating 9/10(Another great movie from the Coen brothers, a must see movie)
