A weekend away with her best friend

Beth just had a baby with her boyfriend Rob when she is invited by her friend Kate to come a weekend to Croatia and have a weekend without the boyfriend. Kate is divorced from Jay and lives a wealthy lifestyle from the alimony of her ex husband.

When Beth arrives in Croatia, a taxi driver drops her off at a fancy Airbnb all paid by Kate's ex-husband Jay. Kate doesn't do cheap and orders the most expensive champagne and drinks just to get back at her ex. When she and Beth go to a restaurant the evening of Beth's arrival, the credit card gets declined and the mess starts.

Kate is very persuasive

Beth is tired as she's still lactating and just wants to get home after this dinner, but Kate pushes her to come and have a drink at a bar. Beth eventually agrees and soon it's clear that Kate tries to push Beth into having a one night stand with a local guy that's quite flirty with her. Beth doesn't like her attitude but soon she's too drunk to know what's going on.

The next morning

When Beth wakes up, she discovers her friend is gone but also sees a lot of signs that her friend had sex that night, probably with the guy they took home from the bar. On her friend's bed she discovers a towel with blood and glass under it. At noon she calls her husband at home and tells her about her missing friend as she still hasn't arrived back.

He asks her if she had an argument, she says she hasn't but flashbacks show her that things weren't that smooth either. When she runs into the owner of the apartment she asks if he knows where she is and he says he has no clue but parties are not allowed and he will have to charge them for the two extra guests that stayed over at night.

To the police

She decides to go to the police, who are not really taken her seriously and kind or mocking her for being too wasted and not remembering anything. She can come back after 24 hours to report her as a missing person. Meanwhile, she's trying to discover what happened to her friend and decides to call the taxi driver that brought them to the bar last night who tells her the name of the bar.

More details are revealed

With the help of the local taxi driver she tries to find out what happened to her friend and the longer they are looking for answers, the more details are revealed about that night. I have to admit that I've suspected several people to be the killer. The obvious person didn't do it, that's all I will reveal. The rest, you will just have to watch for yourself!

Conclusion

I thought it was a great movie, and would recommend you to watch it. Here's the trailer if you're curious:

Looks like a good movie. I don't watch many movies these days, I'm sort of over all the political messaging in them but this looks pretty good. I might have to make an effort to see it
