Movie experience: Knock at the Cabin / Ready or Not

This week I had the opportunity to watch two new movies (new for me of course), and I would like to share my impressions of them.

The first was Knock at the Cabin, which I discovered by chance in a Telegram channel. As I'm not the most confident in finding new movies to watch, I decided to trust the opinion of others and was quite pleased with my choice.

M. Night Shyamalan is a rather controversial director, as his works often have unique directorial and script decisions, but also tend to be overly complex and even shocking at times. So it's best to approach his films with caution and not to have overly high expectations. Despite all that, Knock at the Cabin still managed to intrigue me with its concept. It is also necessary to say thai it is based on Paul Tremblay's novel The Cabin at the End of the World, which was even praised by Stephen King.

Eric and Andrew had been looking forward to a much-needed weekend away together with their adopted daughter, Wen. They had booked a small and secluded country house in New Hampshire, the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of nature.

Little did they know that their idyllic retreat would be interrupted by a group of four strangers who forced their way into the house. Their leader, Leonard, declared that the world was about to end due to a mysterious phenomenon and that the only way to save humanity was for one person in the family to offer themselves up as a voluntary sacrifice.

The situation came as a shock to Eric and Andrew. Like any normal people, they could not believe the reality of what was happening and decided that they had fallen into the hands of psychopaths. But further events more and more clearly reveal the need for a terrible understanding that the idea of sacrificing just one person to save the entire world seemes like the only logical choice.

It is a tense and emotional story, as the characters are forced to make difficult decisions while also dealing with their inner struggles.

Overall, I found Knock at the Cabin to be an interesting film, with some good performances and a unique story. It is not without its flaws, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good thriller.

The second one was Ready or Not (Directed by: Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett) - a 2019 horror-thriller movie that tells a story of a young bride, Grace, who is about to marry into a very wealthy family.

The family has an eccentric tradition of playing a game as part of the wedding ceremony. Grace have to get the card with game name and when it is a card that has the words "Hide and Seek" on it, the family can't hide their little shock. The truth is that this isn't just a game of hide and seek. It turns out that the stakes are much higher than Grace ever imagined.

Step by step Grace understood thet by playing this game, she is putting her life in danger. The family has a sinister plan of killing her if she is found. So Grace to find a way to survive and escape the family.

Ready or Not is a thrilling and suspenseful movie that will have you on the edge of your seat. It is a movie that shows that some people aren't very good at choosing marriage partners, and it also shows that you never know what danger lurks in the shadows.

If you're looking for a movie that will keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat, then Ready or Not is definitely a movie you should watch.
