Best Of The Best 2026.

Review by @treasuree 🏆#58 🔥56 🎵296 🎬47 📺28 · 5h · of Best of the Best

The Best of the Best is a film i watched, and couldn't stop laughing throughout the duration of it, so the story follows Maya and Anjali, they have literally been best friends since childhood, and their friendship revolves around their Indian roots, which consists of their joy for Bollywood movies, the big, flashy dance scenes Bollywood is known for and this isn't just a casual interest for them, it is almost a personality characteristic that has been a part of their friendship since they were children.

Then, life takes them both to UCLA, and somehow, their lives still continue to remain intertwined, as they try out for the top Bollywood-fusion dance team in the entire country (you can't miss it at UCLA) so here, we are not just talking fun, we are talking real competitive dance energy, the one where training is taken seriously and any competition is worth it.

So after getting in, things get exciting, of course, as who wouldn't want to be a part of the best dance team in the country? because this is a comedy that actually has some heart to it, things don't stay smooth for long, It begins all around as they get ready for the national championship, Elbows begin to fly, not really, but you get the idea, everyone wants to be better than the other, egos begin to clash, and a competitive vibe slowly seeps into the fun easy vibe the team likely had at the start.

And then there is this particular part that got me even the friendship that Maya and Anjali had , which is supposed to be unbreakable but starts been tested, see here, two girls who have been through so much since they were young are now competing in a dance contest, and it's tearing things down that they supposed to be impenetrable, that's what makes a comedy hit differently , because it's not just jokes for the sake of jokes, there's real stakes tied to people you have grown to care about.

I loved the fact that despite all of that tension, this film maintains its comedic spirit, It still finds ways to be genuinely funny, the kind of humor that comes from real situations and real personalities clashing, not just random slapstick thrown in for no reason, yes you laugh, but low key you are invested in whether this two friends would make it being impenetrable.

The Bollywood dancing element aspect also makes the film an enjoyable and colourful one, so It's not just awkward dancing for a few moments or a few scenes, it is celebrating their culture, that choreography, that music, that drama, that happens with big performance numbers and so it adds so much life to the story.

This is really one of those movies that is both fun and complex at the same time, It's hilarious enough to hold you over, but the friendship plot is sufficiently developed to give it some emotional depth, not so much that it drags you down buts as so much that you care about how things turn out, beyond the laughs!

Best of the Best is a fun one if you ask me, colorful and comedic, but with some true friendship story to it. It has a good vibes, good laughs, and just enough heart to make it a very memorable one.
