From the very first scene this TV series grabs you by the collar and does not let go, so a bag is found in Times Square and Inside that bag is a woman, No clothes, no memory, no identity just tattoos, Tattoos covering every single part of her body from head to toe, Intricate, detailed, deliberate tattoos that clearly mean something to somebody, and that somebody is not her because she cannot remember a thing, not her name, not her past, not how she ended up in that bag in the middle of one of the busiest places in the world, Nothing....

That opening alone was enough to pull me in completely, The woman is called Jane Doe because that is what you call a woman with no name and her character is played by Jaimie Alexander who carries this role with everything that she has, Jane Doe is not your typical lead character, she is strong but she is confused, she is capable but she is also lost ,she is trying to figure out who she is , while simultaneously being thrown into dangerous situations that somehow her body already knows how to handle even when her mind does not, that contradiction is fascinating to watch one episode after another episode.

Then there is Kurt Weller, the FBI agent whose name is tattooed on her back too, Why is his name on her back? What is the connection between them? that question alone had me watching episode after episode without stopping because I needed answers and this series is very smart about how slowly it gives them to you.

And that is what I want to talk about most the suspense.....

I was in suspense all through this series , from beginning to end , every episode ends in a way that makes it almost impossible to stop watching, you would think you have figured something out and then the show pulls the floor from under you, you think you understand Jane's identity and then something new comes up that changes everything, you think the enemy has been identified and then you realize the real picture is so much bigger and more complicated than you imagined, Blindspot plays with your mind the entire time and it does it so well that you do not even feel frustrated by it, You just keep watching.

The tattoos as a storytelling device are genuinely clever, each one is a clue to a crime, a conspiracy, a person, a location, so every episode the team is essentially decoding her body to figure out what they need to solve next, It sounds strange when you explain it but it works It gives the show a structure that keeps things moving while still feeding the bigger mystery running underneath everything.

The team around Jane and Weller are solid too, Patterson is the kind of character you would love immediately very brilliant, a little nerdy, funny without trying too hard , Zapata and Reade bring their own energy and their personal storylines across the seasons give the show depth beyond just the central mystery, you end up caring about all of them not just the two leads.

Now across five seasons any show is going to have moments where things slow down or go in a direction that tests your patience, Blindspot is not really perfect and there are parts in the middle seasons where the conspiracy gets so layered and so complicated that you have to pay very close attention to keep up with it, there were moments where I had to sit back and process what exactly was happening, but even in those moments the series never fully lost me because the emotional core of it, Jane figuring out who she is and what she deserves, that kept me invested throughout.

The ending of the series is the kind of ending that leaves you sitting quietly for a moment, not because it is shocking but because it is earned, Five seasons of running, fighting, uncovering, losing, and rebuilding and when it finally lands you feel the weight of all of it.
