Family went to bed early today night so I figured to watch a movie before rubbing one off on pornhub.
Netflix recommended me a fantasy movie called The Great Wall starring Matt Damon. It's not based on the one Trump wanted to make to keep Mexicans out, but instead, The Great Wall of China that as we all know was made to keep ugly scary aliens out:
In ancient China, a group of European mercenaries encounters a secret army that maintains and defends the Great Wall of China against a horde of monstrous creatures. source
Overall I must admit I found the movie quite enjoyable despite the relatively dump yet unique and interesting plot.
The cinematography and visuals were pretty good although I found the monster's cgi a bit...outdated? The movie was released in 2016 yet at times it felt like late 90s/early 20s. I won't complained much though, combined with the imo excellent camera work the movie did a good work to immersinf me in its world.
The battle scenes were also unique, epic and more than generous enough in quantity.
When it comes to acting I guess Matt Damon does a decent job along with the rest, mostly Chinese, peeps.
All in all, a beautifully told, fast paced story with some unforgettable battle scenes. Yes, it has its flaws but it's more than a decent watch.
Easily a 7/10 from me. If you are into monsters and shit than give it a watch when you have some free time. I think you won't regret it!
