Many of us are on a constant search for something good to stream these days. TV series are brilliant because they will keep you busy for many days, while a movie is more of a short-term treat lasting for a couple of hours (unless you decide to watch The Irishman or a trilogy like Lord of the Rings.
Alita: Battle Angel is a movie I didn't care much about when I saw the trailers, but when it showed up on my streaming service a few days ago (and I had some hours free), I decided to stream this movie. By default, I am a big fan of Christoph Waltz. Since I first saw him in Inglorious Basterds, I consider him to be almost a genius on the screen. He was brilliant in the movie Carnage as well, and I did like him as the bad guy in James Bond. The fact that he will return in the new James Bond movie as well only makes me look even more forward to that.
What is Alita: Battle Angel all about?
Rosa Salazar plays the role of Alita. She is found by the Doctor (Christoph Waltz) on a place for trash, and only her upper body is found. Luckily, the doctor knows how to fix the body, so he gives her a full body and tries to take care of the girl. But, he quickly understands that the girl is more than just a normal girl. In fact, he knew it from the start, but things get interesting as the girl starts to discover the truth about herself and her past as well.
She was a real fighter, or should we say battle angel, but after some sort of accident, she doesn't remember a thing, and that is when the Doctor finds her.
Life on earth is tough. They all look up to the sky where they can see Salem, a place they all dream of, but it is impossible to visit. This is a city in the sky, and the only one that survived some terrible attack on the earth earlier. Alita would love to go there, and so does the handsome boy she meets. But, only the winner of a special Champions League competition gets to go there.
Alita wants to help her friend, and as they spend time together, and as she follows the Doctor around, she discovers her own abilities. And guess what, other people are also attracted to the girl... and not all of them have good intentions!
Those big eyes...
Rosa Salazar is very popular nowadays, and right now, we can also see her in the series Undone. They often manipulate her look and her eyes, and that is why she almost feels like an animated character in this movie.

But, is Alita: Battle Angel worth watching?
I have watched the movie and I had a good time. But, to be honest, not even Christoph Waltz was able to make miracles with this movie. It was an average movie, with an average story, and in general, average everything! The look of the movie was nice, and it was cool to look at Salem as the city above, connected to the earth with giant wires. But, the movie is just an average movie to me. I guess the IMDb audience don't agree entirely with me, as the movie has a 7,2/10 score there, while it has a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. So I guess something has got to be wrong with me, because I would give this movie the following rating:

You can find Alita: Battle Angel in Google Play Store, Apple Store, Amazon, and other local stores for movies. It still cannot be streamed on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu or other similar streaming services.
