Home for Christmas review - a cute Christmas series on Netflix

Review by @unbiasedwriter · 2108d · of Home for Christmas

Home for Christmas is the name of a Netflix original series. The second season was just released, meaning that you can now stream two seasons of this show on Netflix. Each season consist of six episodes which last for about 25 minutes, making this a quick show that might serve you well during Christmas in 2020.

Home for Christmas is a harmless series about a Norwegian nurse who has a hard time coping with her family. Everyone else is married and they have kids, while she, Johanne, is 30 years old and single. That isn't easy, and when Christmas shows up and the family comes together, she is bound to sit between the twins (two kids), after all - she is still a kid herself and without kids. This leads to one breakout, in which she tells the family that she will bring a boyfriend home for Christmas (a boyfriend she doesn't have).

Home for Christmas is a very cute story, and it is easy to watch. It isn't completely family friendly, because there is a lot of foul language, and some sex scenes (not much though except for season 1 episode 2). However, this is a series that gave me quite a lot of laughs, and a great time just enjoying the jokes, the scenes, the conversations, and everything that happens around Johanne.

A good option for Christmas in 2020.

Many of us look for good content to stream around Christmas. All our favorite TV series are taking a break, and we have more spare time than we normally do. If that is how you feel right now, I can warmly recommend that you give Home for Christmas a try. This is a story that might give you a laugh, and it bring the Christmas atmosphere at the same time.

The language of the series is Norwegian, and you will clearly get a glimpse of Norwegian Christmas if you watch it. Even though my impression is that Norwegians might be a bit "colder and static", this is still giving a nice impression of Norwegians and their way of celebrating Christmas.

Why don't you give Home for Christmas a try? I binged through it within a couple of days (both seasons), and I feel like this is a series that I can warmly recommend to everyone for Christmas. It might feel good to watch something else after watching Love Actually and The Holiday for the 20th time...
