The Jurassic Park series is just incredibly popular. Five movies have been produced so far, and three of them have grossed more than 1 billion worldwide. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was released in 2018, and it become the third highest grossing movie worldwide in that year, and it is the 12th highest grossing movie in the world ever. That is quite insane, considering that this is a movie about animals created using 3D-technology and pure computer power. Are you among those who paid for your cinema ticket to watch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in the cinema? Or did you avoid it on purpose? Or have you been waiting for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom to come to Netflix?
I was among those who watched Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in the cinema. I am not a big fan of this series, but somehow, the story still manage to captivate me and enchant me for the hours I watch it.
What's up in Jurassic World?
After the Jurassic World movie from 2015, some animals are left on the island. They are bound to die due to a volcanic eruption coming up, and a heavy debate is going on discussing whether or not they should let the animals die. Since they were just brought back after genetic manipulation, shouldn't they just be left to die?
For former Velociraptor handler from Jurassic World, Owen Grady (player by Chris Pratt) is invited to come along with Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) to help rescue some of those poor creatures left on the island. He doesn't get too enthusiastic about it, but once he is there, things change.
The truth is, even though you don't like the Jurassic Park movies that much, there is something magical about watching these movies in which we get to take a closer look at these extincted animals. Just take a look at the image above. Is this what they might have looked like earlier? And yes, there is something amazing about watching our heroes run around in the midst of those dinosaurs, some lethal, while others are cute and watching out for them.
The story in itself might not be the most interesting, but somehow, the discussion about genetic manipulation, if they should be saved and kept alive and so on, can actually be taken on as good questions and could work out for your next movie-discussion-club night (if such a thing exists).
Once again, Steven Spielberg has been the executive producer, and they have clearly spent a lot of money on all the effects and visual effects. They are stunning and impressive, and I can clearly see why people are amazed by what they are served watching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Chris Pratt is an actor I enjoy, and he always has this glimpse in his eye and a sense of humor that makes me enjoy his company, no matter if his name is Owen Grady (Jurassic World), Peter Quill/Star Lord (Guardians of the Galaxy), Emmett (The Lego movie/voice only), or Jim Preston (Passengers).
If you like this movie, you should also be aware that the final movie in the Jurassic World trilogy is supposed to be released in 2011, named Jurassic World: Dominion. Hopefully, they have been able to work on that movie even in the midst of the coronavirus, after all, the most important characters in the movie are computer animated!
Conclusion of my Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom review
I had a great time watching the movie. The nachos and the salsa and the coke just made it even better, but even without the snacks, I would have been able to enjoy the movie. Not because I am interested in dinosaurs, and not because the story is so amazing... simply because the movie is kind of magical due to the fantastic creatures looking almost 100% real!
I can easily recommend this to most people, especially those with an interest in dinosaurs and all sorts of teenagers.

And by the way, I am really curious to discover how they will finish the trilogy with the final movie in the Jurassic World series...
