Manifest has suffered from the same problem that several other NBC series have... at least for me. The first season was awesome. That can be said about Manifest, it can be said about The Blacklist, and it was true about Blindspot. The second season was fairly interesting, and then comes a third season that ruins it all. It is no coincidence that I stopped streaming Blindspot after two seasons, I mostly stopped The Blacklist in the middle of season 3 (and picked it up against at the start of the sixth season)... but, what about Manifest?
To be honest, I managed to stream the entire third season. But, it was just a nightmare, because I watched half an episode and felt like going to bed, and then I finished it several days later. That is not at all like me. I get sucked up in a story and I have to at least finish the episode I am watching. So, it was a lot of suffering that had to be made to finish the third season.
Then came the news that NBC has canceled further production of Manifest.
I wasn't sure what to feel as I heard the news. I wasn't suffering at all, but at the same time, I was curious to find out what would be the end of the story for everyone on the flight and to find out what really happened to them.
But, even though I'm not a big fan of Manifest, after all, millions of other people are, and Manifest was the most seen TV series on Netflix in the USA for several weeks throughout the summer, and it kept on as they added the third season in September 2021. And due to the success, Netflix has taken the job of finishing the job and they will take over the production of Manifest season 4.
So, I will be given one more season, and somehow I hope, that Netflix will bring more life, laughter, and action to the series because if not, I might just jump to Wikipedia to read the end of the story instead of watching the full fourth season after its release.
