Finally, I got myself together and finished watching Extraction on Netflix. This is the brand new movie featuring Chris Hemsworth. Unfortunately, quite a lot of the reviews about the movie have been average, but after watching the movie for 45 minutes, I really looked forward to see how it would end. Well, the movie is now finished, and I have got to say that I feel disappointed as well!
I really like Chris Hemsworth
I guess I am biased because I really like Chris Hemsworth. Not so much for his being, but because he is amazing in his role as Thor. He is the coolest of all the superheroes in the Marvel universe, both a combination of funny, calm, and strong.
But, even though I like Chris Hemsworth and Thor, I was never really able to enjoy his company as much in Extraction.

What is Extraction?
Chris plays the role as Tyler Rake. He is a pro soldier, and he is called in to help extract a kid who has been taken hostage by a mafia group. The task in itself is complicated, and when he is tricked, even more, it turns really tough to complete the task.
Many people encourage him to get rid of the kid, but Tyler Rake doesn't seem to be the kind of guy to leave a kid behind.

Is Extraction boring? If yes, why?
As I said, I enjoyed the first 45 minutes of Extraction. But, then something happened. It simply turned boring. I am not sure why, but probably because it was way too many feelings and boring conversations, and the entire story somehow felt pointless. I didn't have any trouble with Chris Hemsworth, he did everything he could to lift the movie. But, it is hard to lift a movie that is as heavy (and boring) as this one.
This movie without Chris Hemsworth would have been a disaster!
Do you know the feeling when you watch a movie simply because a star has the lead character? That is the truth about Extraction as well. If it hadn't been for Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't have started to watch the movie. But, because of him, I gave it a chance, and now millions feel in the same way and stream the movie on Netflix.
My honest last thoughts about Extraction
Recently I watched 6 Underground on Netflix. That was 2 constant hours of adrenaline and action with Ryan Reynolds. I didn't like that movie either, but at least it was adrenaline. This is 100 minutes of some action, some boredom, and lots of average stuff. As a result, not at all the best movie. But, if you just want some simple action and cannot find anything else to watch, give Extraction a try.
