Good evening hive friends😄, today I want to talk to you about A discovery of Witches, a series that became one of my favorites, I saw it a few months ago, I don't know how I didn't hear about it before, but I must say that it came into my life in good timing.
A discovery of witches is a British fantasy series produced by Bad Wolf and Sky Studios, it was created in television format and is based on the trilogy of "All souls" by the author Debora Harkness. The series was named "A Discovery of Witches" after the first book of the trilogy.
The production managed to adapt the three books on which the series is based, creating three seasons with 25 episodes in total.

A discovery of witches es una serie Británica de fantasía producida por Bad Wolf and Sky Studios, fue creada en formato televisivo y está basada en la trilogía de "todas las almas" de la autora Debora Harkness. La serie fue nombrada "El descubrimiento de las brujas" por el primer libro de la trilogía.
La producción logró adaptar los tres libros en los que se basa la serie, creando tres temporadas con 25 capítulos en total.

Diana Bishop (our protagonist) is a historian with magical powers (she is a witch), but because of a tragic event in her past, she denies her magical heritage. This all changes when, after entering a large local library, she manages to summon a supposedly missing manuscript that is thought to have information about the origin of supernatural creatures, which are currently in decadence, the Ashmole (Ashmole 782). This causes her to become immersed in a world of vampires, demons and witches, as many want to obtain the book, including Matthew Clairmont, a Biochemist (and also a vampire) who takes an interest in her because of the book, but the longer they interact, the more they realizes that their connection extends beyond that.
Diana Bishop (nuestra protagonista) es una historiadora con poderes mágicos (es una bruja), pero a causa de un hecho trágico de su pasado, reniega de su herencia mágica. Todo esto cambia cuando al entrar en una gran biblioteca local, logra invocar un manuscrito presuntamente desaparecido que se piensa tiene información sobre el origen de las criaturas sobrenaturales, que actualmente están en decadencia, el Ashmole (Ashmole 782). Esto causa que se ve inmersa en un mundo de vampiros, demonios y brujas, pues muchos quieren obtener el libro, entre ellos Matthew Clairmont, un Bioquímico (y también vampiro) que se interesa en ella por el libro, pero mientras más tiempo interactúan, más se da cuenta de que su conexión va más allá.
This series awakened a spark in me when I was in the dark side of life, I have always been attracted to these topics and the clean way in which the series was developed really makes a good impression. The main characters have an undeniable chemistry, they are both serious people, which makes it interesting to see how their romance develops with such intensity (this is key in the series since they basically have to be together).
This is not a rose-colored fantasy story, yes, it has a lot of romance, but I consider that it is not over the top and it fits well with the development of the story (it is necessary all the emphasis on the relationship between Diana and Matthew). When watching the series we find dark scenarios that at the same time are picturesque, well done characters, good special effects and even time travel (I loved the season that covers time travel), no doubt, if you like this kind of series, this one will hook you.
Esta serie avivó una chispa en mí cuando andaba medio dark por la vida, siempre me han llamado la atención estos temas y la forma tan limpia en la que la serie fue desarrollada de verdad causa una buena impresión. Los protagonistas tienen una química innegable, los dos son personas serias, lo que hace interesante ver como se desarrolla su romance con tanta intensidad (esto resulta algo clave en la serie, ya que ellos básicamente tienen que estar juntos).
Esta no es una historia de fantasía color de rosa, sí, tiene mucho romance, pero considero que no es empalagoso y queda bien con el desarrollo de la historia (es necesario todo el énfasis en la relación entre Diana y Matthew). Al ver la serie nos encontramos con escenarios oscuros que al mismo tiempo son pintorescos, personajes bien logrados, buenos efectos especiales y hasta viajes en el tiempo (la temporada que abarca el viaje en el tiempo me encanto), sin duda si te gustan este tipo de series, esta te va a enganchar.
