When we talk about movies that leave us with something to think about long after we've concluded it, Breath of Life definitely belongs to that category; it isn't like some movies whose aim is majorly to just entertain. Breathe of Life is a movie I watched about two years ago, and if I were to sum it up, I'd say it's one that combines storytelling, strong performance, emotions, and important life lessons all together in a way that makes it not be treated like just another movie. The movie stare some of the big names in Nollywood, such as Efe Iwara, Tina Mba, and Chimezue Imo, and belongs to my review of every aspect of the masterpiece.
The movie itself is based on the life of a retired clergyman, who goes by the name Timi, whose life took a drastic turnaround towards the negative side. We also have Elijah, who is a young man who's just beginning his life and came into the picture of Mr. Timi's life. And from that moment where their oath crossed, we get to see how the movie explores different feelings and aspects of life, such as grief and the impact it can have on one's life, such as losing one's sense of purpose. It also shows how an unexpected relationship can bring about hope, redemption, forgiveness, and finding meaning again after loss.
If there are things I enjoyed about the movie, first and foremost, without any doubt, it is the acting. I mean, every single cast member did pretty well, and the lead actor's performance was nothing short of what I'd call a masterpiece. The way the characters embrace their role It must be mind-blowing, from struggles to pain to joyful and vulnerable moments. Take for instance the relationship Mr. Timi has with Elijah; it was an experience that I can say is interesting and, at the same time, real for someone who has experienced many difficult moments. But overall their relationship shows how mentorship can transform lives. The most vital lesson I learned in the concluding part of the movie is how the person we thought needed our help might turn out to be the one that'll help us when we least expect it.
The movie reminds us that yes, loss can be devastating, but it ends it. Understand that life has loss; it means. I also find the relationship between Elijah and Anna; their relationship makes you salivate for love and want to enjoy its beauty. We also see from their relationship that everything won't go as planned and that challenges will always come, but the ability to not give in to them is you showing that you'll choose your partner regardless of what might be standing as a barrier to obstructing the relationship's future.
Overall, Breath of Life is one movie I would easily recommend to anyone because it's one of the best movies that has come out of Nollywood, and that's why I'm even giving it the entire capacity of the ranting. And that's why I keep saying it's not just a movie that we watch for entertainment; it's one movie that leaves you with questions regarding your life, purpose, and the impact we want to have on others.
