A former ballerina and now a Russian intelligence officer, Dominika Egorova (Lawrence), must seduce and bring to light the CIA agent Nathaniel Nash (Joel Edgerton), the main mole of Americans in Russia. During the operation, Dominica violates all possible rules and falls in love with Nash. Subsequently, they develop relationships that threaten the security of both countries. After Dominika decides to go to the end and take revenge on her masters, she starts working for the CIA, trying to identify a traitor in Washington.

The authors of the script, based on the book of the same name by Jason Mathews, were Justin Haze and Eric Singer. The cast also includes Charlotte Rampling, Jeremy Irons, Mary-Louise Parker, Kiaran Hinds, Joely Richardson, Matthias Shonarts, Sergei Polunin and others.
