Los años 60s, un año de alto cambio tanto político y cultural, no solo en los Estados Unidos si no en muchas partes del mundo, quizás la peor época para vivir si eras de raza negra, ya que fue el momento en donde las tensiones contra esta etnia por parte del gobierno de dicho país estaban en su punto de calor, creando caos y destrucción por todas partes, en esta película observaremos el conflicto desde su parte más cruda y desalentadora, como estas personas eran perseguidas como simple terroristas, cuando simplemente querían su libertad y la lucha por sus derechos dentro de su propio país, este año también tuvimos la cinta de Los 7 de chicago, una que ya hable anteriormente en este camino a los Oscar, esta seria como su contraparte mas pausada y legal sobre el mismo conflicto, que acontecieron contra los movimientos de liberación para las personas de raza negra; Con este pequeño preámbulo comencemos con esta reseña . Desde el comienzo el tema de la película me parecía muy repetitivo, ya que últimamente Hollywood esta sobreexplotando el tema de discriminación racista al máximo que da, pero como siempre he dicho, hay directores con una visión original con respecto al tema, quizás este no ha sido su caso ya que siendo un seceso histórico no se puede variar en ese sentido, pero le di una oportunidad ya que el recordar estos sucesos que cambiaron la historia y verlos plasmado en un film siempre son de mi agrado, si bien Judas Y El Messiah Negro en un comienzo no me metía en su historia, y la notaba un poco tosca y con un ritmo lento, quizás los prejuicios que le tenía en un principio me afecto al verla, pero seguí viéndola y debo decir que la hora final de esta película es una delicia cinematográfica, si bien no es una obra maestra ya que tienes sus distintos fallos, me pareció que dio en el clavo con el mensaje que quería trasmitir.

Tenemos dos protagonista claros en esta historia, tan complicado lo tuvo la academia en escoger un protagonista, que decidieron darle a ambos la nominación como mejor actor de reparto este año, Daniel Y Lakeith se comen la película de principio a fin, en mi más sincera opinión siento que sin estos la película hubiese sido de plano muy mala, por una parte tenemos a Fred Hampton el personaje eje de esta historia, un revolucionario en toda regla y con una convicción de hierro con la finalidad de darle esa libertad a su pueblo oprimido, Daniel trasmitió el mensaje perfecto de este personaje mostrándonos una personalidad tranquila y hasta en cierto punto tímida, pero que cuando agarra un micrófono se transforma en esa persona con el poder y la capacidad de mover las mazas mas marginadas; Por ultimo Lakeith y mi favorito, a pesar de su papel como el traicionero de la película es de los mas afectados por todo los acontecimiento, desde el comienzo podemos ver toda la evolución del personaje desde que es un don nadie con la necesidad de dinero, hasta que en cierto punto llega a sentir total empatía por su líder y por el grupo de las panteras, William es sin duda el personaje con mas problemas internos, como día a día lidia con eso y como en sus ojos podemos ver el miedo y la desesperación de encontrarse en esa posición, con un gran manejo de personalidad y capacidad de mostrarnos sentimientos a través de gestos y expresiones, es que este actor se convierte en mi favorito a ganar el Oscar este año.

En el apartado técnico en mi opinión la película no destaca demasiado, si bien me gusta como combinan imágenes de los sucesos reales con los ficticios, siento que debió jugar mas con los giros de la cámara y los planos, aunque sinceramente y como lo dije al principio toda la parte magnifica que nos brinda la película, sucede justo en la hora final en donde se atan los cabos y empieza la persecución, en especifico existe un plano final protagonizado por Dominique Fishback, cabe destacar que su papel me pareció muy soso, en la cual sin entrar en mucho detalles cambio mi perspectiva por su actuación, este plano daría el cierre perfecto a la cinta y cerrándola con broche de oro.
