Reacher Season 1 — A Brutal Fight Against Corruption and Betrayal

Review by @wildscribe 🏆#214 🎵7 📺7 · 6h · of Reacher season 1 · 2 views

I started those series a few weeks ago and at first it was boring but as I continued to watch, I got to see why it has that high ratings on moviebox.

This first season of Reacher started with Jack Reacher who was a former military police investor who loves moving from one point to another without having a permanent place. But when he arrived at Margrave, Georgia, his journey took an unexpected turn because as he was about eating the pie he ordered for, he was arrested for the murder he knew nothing about being his first time there.

What began as his first time simple visit quickly ended up becoming a dangerous investigation involving multiple killings and a town hiding secrets. And Reacher being involved, he was trying to understand why some specific set of people were being killed and who was involved in covering it up..

Alan Ritchson a police officer in margrave gave Reacher a commanding presence, listened to him with depending fully on his physical size. He has the experience, always think ahead of people questioning him, intelligent, blunt and pays attention to details, like he always says,"details matters in an investigation." Reacher is also this character who does not care about what people thinks about him and doesn't spend much time explaining himself. Instead, he speaks through his actions no matter the person confronting him. And this approach gave him a distinctive persinlakiry, although he can be over confident sometimes.

Through Reacher relationship with the Chief Detective police officer, Oscar Finley, at Margrave his relationship with him made the investigation more complicated than I pictured. Finlay is a type that is more cautious while Roscoe the female officer that Reacher obeyed at first is always trust her instincts in every step of the case. Due to the difference approach they had, there was tension in the investigation to move forward. These three did not delay as they were using their expertise to uncover the powerful future in Margrave as well as the person behind the murders. As there dug deeper, this corruption network began to uncover which reaches further than the local police department.

As I watched deeper, one thing I liked how they handled well in this season was the willingness to make all violence to look more dangerous than it is. Even though Margrave seems like a small town, it have a lot of familiar faces concealing much darker reality than I imagined, Reacher has to piece together how the victims, the local authorities and the town's influential residents are connected.

Above all, this season was so entertaining and it was built around Reacher, someone I'll call a strong lead performance, ready to do his job by unfolding hard actions and mysteries hard to uncover. I love the Reacher character because he has the military experience to investigate in a intelligent way that Finley later liked and the ability to confront anyone who always thinks that no one can get to them. After what happened at the beginning, the rest of the event and things to uncover gave Reacher an extension to stay in Margrave beyond that he has planned for and after he discovered the wide the corruption in the city was,, walking away was no longer an option.
