A very characteristic aspect of Latin American and European cinema is that the majority of their film productions are realistic, based on fictional stories of events that could happen to any of us, or adaptations of circumstances of real events with great repercussions in a society. Such is the case of this Argentinean film, called "El Clan", based on the real facts of the acts committed by what was known as the Puccio clan, part of a family that was responsible for the kidnapping and murder of wealthy people in the Argentinean nation.
The film, released in 2015, adapts the historical context of the events in the 80s, where the director Pablo Trapero, also working on the screenplay, based his work on a novel about those atrocious events, so the narrative of the film is almost entirely adapted to the real events, with the exception of some scenes that are part of a fictional complement to the feature film. Thus showing all the characters with a great deal of similarity to real-life individuals, even embodying aspects of each person's behaviour.
From the beginning of the film, they used a filmic technique such as the flashback, where one of the characters in certain circumstances begins to remember during a moment of great tension, thus beginning in chronological order the story of the events, and then re-entering fleeting scenes of the present of the character, and thus developing the whole sequence of the story, in a perfectly assembled script and that intertwine in perfect harmony all the scenes of the film.
In addition, as part of the cinematographic language, the director used filmic resources, such as the trajectory, parallelism and interaction of simultaneous scenes, without a doubt they are resources perfectly well structured in the technical script, so that this film has a development of the same one, in the way that the interest is not lost by that same dynamism of the assembly.
Among the main characters in the film is Arquímedes Puccio, played by actor Guillermo Francella, a strong-willed, dominant and manipulative family man, who exerted total control over another character, Alejandro Puccio, played by actor Peter Lanzani, who at first worked together to kidnap wealthy people, who were usually known to them, some of them being close friends of Alejandro Puccio, who followed the trail, in order to perpetrate the kidnapping, who were usually known to them, some being close friends of Alejandro Puccio, who followed the trail, so that the kidnapping could be perpetrated, thus demanding a high ransom, but which usually ended in the murder of the kidnapped, even after they obtained the rewards.
We can also see the tension between Alejandro Puccio and his father, who in a certain way feels the indifference and the seriousness of his actions, but is forced to carry out such acts, because he does not want to confront his father, or at least that is how it is shown in this film, since it is not yet known if Alejandro really felt obliged by his father or if he did it by his own decision in real life. All this leads to a serious outcome for the whole family, because the kidnapped were imprisoned in the Puccio family home, and the rest of the family apparently never noticed such atrocities, until the day they were discovered by the police, and the whole family was taken into custody, as suspects of the criminal acts, and the police were arrested.
