Movies that make one laugh are very rare to come by nowadays but guess what? I found one! Drum rolls please.. Prompact. Prompact is a highschool movie(sips tea) that made me smile all through yesterday. I think I should give the movie credit for the beautiful dream I had last night:-). I'd try my best to do this review without giving any spoilers.

This movie begins with Mandy refreshing a page in her phone. Mandy, just like many other students in the world, is aspiring to go to Harvard. This scene reminds me of the time when I used to check my CAPS to see if I got admitted.
Mandy and her best friend, Ben, were self righteous highschool kids who were tagged as "party virgins". They didn't have the typical wild and free highschool life. The bond between Mandy and Ben is a very admirable one.
Once again, Mandy checked her admission status and saw that she was "waitlisted". It was like the world had come to an end. She just wanted to sulk for the rest of the day but Ben reminded her why she started in the first place– I mean, that's what best friends are for.
Cast
- Peyton Elizabeth as Mandy
- Milo Manheim as Ben
- Margaret Cho as Ms. Chen
- Blake Draper as Graham Lansing
- Wendi McClendon as Alyssa Yang.
Before I go on, I have to commend the character "Ms. Chen" for her sarcasm. This woman took sarcasm to a whole other level. There's no scene where she acted without sarcasm.
Plot
A highschool kid, Mandy, is willing to do anything to get into Harvard; including bending her values and morals. She figures that the best and easiest way to get into Harvard is by getting close to Graham Lansing, who's father is an alumni at Harvard.
There is an open portal when she finds out that Graham needs a tutor and so she strikes a deal with him. The deal is supposed to be I tutor you and you get a letter of recommendation from your father for me but she said that she didn't want anything in return… classic lie.

Review
This movie is a reminder that we're humans and hence, we are not perfect. We make mistakes and it's totally up to us to rectify our mistakes or leave them that way, you decide.
All the characters in this movie did justice to their roles. From the main characters to the most minor characters, all of them gave their best to this movie.
It's been a long time since I watched a movie and had a good laugh but yesterday I did. There was this scene where Mandy wanted to ask her pissed best friend to be her prom date. She was doing this hilarious and very embarrassing dance( I felt the embarrassment that Ben felt).
Another thing I have to point out is the music. I'm a big fan of Imagine Dragons and "believer" by Imagine Dragons was one of the songs played. Other cool songs were played. The theme of their prom was "80's" and so some of the songs they used in the movie were from the 80's..
Recommendation
Due to the exceptional performances of the casts, the sarcasm, the comic scenes, the emotional scenes and lots more, I would wholeheartedly recommend this movie to anyone. The rating I would give this movie is 9/10. Yes, it was that good.
This movie reminded me of some of my values. Reminds me that it's okay to fail. It also reminded me that youthhood comes once and we should all enjoy it to the fullest. This movie would be a great watch if you decide to try it out. I hope you enjoy the movie, when you get to see it.
Thank you for reading
