Movie Review: Me Before You

Review by @wongi · 1286d · of Me Before You

Hello movie lovers✨

Once again, a movie gets me emotional. It's the first movie that got me emotional this year and it deserves some accolades.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the movie, "Me before you", another special production by Warner bros. The movie was released in 2016 and I honestly wonder which planet I was on. Why didn't I bump into the movie since then?

Like many old movies, the video quality isn't perfect but it's something. If you're wondering whether the video quality would spoil your eyesight, rest assured, it won't.

This movie is actually a masterpiece starred by: Emilia Clarke as Louisa Clark Sam Clafilin as Will Traynor Matthew Lewis as Patrick. And many other interesting actors.

Now this movie teaches a lot about life. I can't exactly blame Will for the way he acted as I probably would have acted the same way if I was in his shoes. How would you feel if you lived the perfect life, swimming, skydiving and all and then one day you get involved in an accident and become permanently paralyzed? You wouldn't want to go through the pain of living everyday with the knowledge that you can never do the things you love right? That's exactly how Will felt.

Louisa on the other hand was somewhat the breadwinner of her family as her dad didn't have a job. She always put everyone first before hersey and eventually she got to meet Will.

Will was a very rigid human being and he initially made Louisa rethink taking up the job. If she didn't need the money, I feel she would have left the job.

Along the line, Louisa found out that Will had asked his parents to kill him and they begged him for just six months. Would he change his mind in six months? I'd leave you to find that out.

One of the most disheartening scenes was when Will's best friend came to tell Will that he was now dating his girlfriend. I could literally feel the pain in Will's eyes. Few months later, he was invited to their wedding. Instead of sulking and ranting, Will made the most of that night. He was genuinely happy that his girlfriend moved on…or not.

Love sprang up between Louisa and Will. Louisa tried coming up with possible suggestions to solve Will's health condition but to no avail. All she could do was just try and change his mind.

Six months passed by very quickly and Will made his decision. Movies like these are supposed to have happy endings but the twist in movies is something I really appreciate.

I can't forget to put a spotlight on the part where they sang two songs I really love so much. First was "photograph by Ed Sheeran" and the second was "Unsteady by X ambassadors". Two beautiful pieces of music 🥺

Generally, I would classify this piece as a tragi-comedy. The movie portrayed what love is. It's a movie about endurance, pain, suffering, challenges, love and a lot more.

If you feel that you are stone-cold and nothing moves you(just like I feel😅) then you should really test your options by watching this movie. I bet your eyes would at least get watery.

I would recommend this movie for anyone who wants to be reminded what love truly is or anyone who wants to test their emotions 😅.

With love, wongi ✨
