Hello friends, all members of The Anime Realm community. In this post, I want to share an anime that I just finished watching, even though this anime was released more than five years ago but I am still excited to share it with all of you because I highly recommend this anime even though it is quite an old school. The anime I'm discussing this time is Psycho-Pass.
I accidentally found this Anime when I saw shows on social media that discussed several Anime titles that were released a few years but are still very worth watching this year because, in terms of visuals and stories that are presented, they can be compared with the Anime that was released recently.
Storyline
This Pyscho Pass Anime aired on TV in 2012 with the Cyberpunk, Psychological Thriller, and Crime Action genres whose visuals are so futuristic even if you watch it this time. This anime is set in the future era, where technology that can measure a person's personality, and mental state with a system called Sybil, this system can measure the value of a person's Crime Coefficient which if the value exceeds the provisions it will be considered a criminal act which must be acted upon so as not to endanger society.
Sybil system uses supercomputer technology that functions as a justice system in enforcing the law and deciding whether someone's behaviour is right or wrong by measuring the Pyscho Pass value. Those who have a criminal coefficient value that exceeds the limit will be arrested by the Police from the Criminal Investigation Department Unit to be rehabilitated or even eliminated so as not to create a crime in society.
The story begins with a character named Tsunemori Akane coming to the scene of a kidnapping case carried out by a person with a criminal coefficient that exceeds the limit. Akane is a police officer who has just been appointed Inspector Unit 1 of the Criminal Investigation Department and immediately joins into the field to solve the case because it is needed.
Whenever a case occurs, the Inspectors can change the Enforcer who is accompanying them according to their needs.
In the first case for Inspector Tsunemori Akane was hard for her to try the kidnap suspect with the Dominator because his Psycho-Pass indicated that the person must be exterminated. Akane didn't have the heart to do it and waited for the suspect's Psycho-Pass to drop to the non-lethal paralyzing level, unable to stand the attitude that Akane had made, Enforcer Kougami want to prosecute the suspect with his Dominator, and Akane instead aimed the Dominator at Kougami and shot him with a non-lethal paralysis level.
Kougami fell, and Akane felt guilty at that time, long story short, Inspector Tsunemori Akane's first case was finished, and the suspect was caught without killing him.
After that, this Anime story focuses on Division 1 Inspectors and Enforcers in dealing with other criminal cases, the Sybil system becomes the main topic of the story as the episode progresses because there are many irregularities in the system that make crimes measured by the value of a person's Psycho-Pass not as perfect as said by Head of the Security Department.
Then as the story continues, the criminal cases faced by Division 1 of the Criminal Investigation Department are increasingly dangerous, and the mastermind behind all the crimes that occur appears. The figure named is **Makishima Shougo**, he is a criminal who cannot be prosecuted by the Sybil system, nor can the **Dominator** weapon be used against him. When the Inspector points the Dominator at **Makishima**, the Dominator cannot be prosecuted because Makishima's **Psycho-Pass** value is below 100, and Sybil's system does not consider it a crime. My Thought
I don't really like anime with a future setting, at the beginning of the episode, I watched it without excessive expectations because, before that, I didn't find out anything about this anime and just watched it. As the story progressed, I began to like the storyline that was presented, the plot that made the audience think critically and how humans were made submissive by the Sybil system which kept a lot of mysteries about how it worked.
The character Tsunemori Akane here, in my opinion, is very suitable to be juxtaposed with Kougami Shinya, who has the instinct to detect the way the criminal is doing to carry out his actions. Several times Kougami managed to get into the traps that Makishima arranged very complexly. My emotions mixed up as the story continues.
I just finished watching the first season of Psycho-Pass and the rating I can give is 9/10, I enjoy the visuals presented by this Anime, and so unpredictable, an enigmatic storyline in each episode makes the audience feel very emotional.
Disclaimer: I don't mean to spoiler and this is purely my personal opinion after watching this anime.
